Punxsutawney Celebrates Summer The Annual Groundhog Festival Kicks Off July 3rd By Jade Emhoff of Hometown magazine

The experience of the members, along with their genuine dedication to the festival, brings about the major summer attraction we look forward to year after year. But although the

esidents of the Punx’y area and thousands of visitors are anxiously awaiting the 45th annual celebration of the Groundhog Festival. Each year, members of the Groundhog Festival Committee work hard to bring a special schedule of entertainment events and food vendors for the enjoyment of local and area residents. The festival, scheduled this year from Sunday, July 3 through Saturday, July 9, originated from an idea of the Chamber of Commerce in 1966 as a week-long celebration to entertain the community.
