We’re excited to be showcasing our beer and celebrating BBQ culture once again. In case this is your first time at the Festival, here’s a quick run down of how it works. All beers are grouped by drinking style across 6 tasting marquees throughout the venue. Take a look through this program to find your favourites (or those varieties you’re keen to try). Tastings are available by token system with 1 token for 100ml and 2 tokens for 200ml (available for the lower strength varieties) in your souvenir glass. To keep track of your consumption, standard drinks for every serve are provided in the program. Additional tokens may be purchased from the Paddle Bar Marquee. Takeaway sales can be made in our Cellar Door and collected from the Exit tent on departure (just like Duty Free).

EASY DRINKING
Easy drinking are the smooth crushable beers in the Hope Brewery line up, a mixtape of the most loved old world lager styles from Europe and new world ale styles from America and Australia.
LAGER
Over the past 150 years Lager beer emerged out of central Europe and has conquered with amazing speed. The primary definition of a Lager is that it is a bottom fermented beer. This means that the yeast used to ferment the beer gathers at the bottom of the fermentation tank. Lagers tend to have a light crisp taste, higher carbonation than ales, mellow, smooth and well-balanced flavours with a low bitterness.

This light and aromatic Pilsner uses classic Czech Saaz hops, freshened with new world Citra. Brewed with a combination of rice and sorghum, resulting in a beer free from the gluten of traditional brewing grains.

Ginger is a popular addition for craft-brewed beers with peeled ginger usually added to wort in the kettle, and in sufficient amount it gives not only flavour but also a form of spicy heat.

Cider is simply apple juice with the natural sugars allowed to ferment and produce its own alcohol content. Ciders come in a variety of flavours and styles; from tart and dry through to sweet and rich, clear or cloudy, still, fizzy or anywhere in between.

CRAFTY
Crafty are the sipping and sharing beers in the Hope Brewery line up. Discover beers with fruit flavours, intense ales bursting with hop flavours and bitterness, as well as dark malty beers.
NEW ENGLAND / HAZY IPA
A New England IPA (NEIPA) is a style of American IPA that features an intense, tropical fruit centric, hop aroma and flavour. New England IPA is a relatively new style originally brewed out of Vermont, New England in the United States. It’s heavily dry hopped to the point of being hazy and has a fuller body, smoother flavour and less perceived bitterness than typical IPA’s.

Tropical NEIPA is everything great about NEIPA 7.2 but on a tropical holiday. Fresh, smooth, juicy New England IPA taste that is hop based, so not as hazy as some. Strong pineapple aromas, big tropical flavours dominate with no bitterness in sight for a cruisy finish.

IPA - INDIA PALE ALE
The modern day India Pale Ale (IPA) is hoppy, strong and bitter. They also have malt undertones and many boast a pleasant citrus flavour. It gained its name thanks to its huge popularity in British India and other outposts of the British Empire throughout the 19th century, as the abundance of hops and higher alcohol acted as a natural preservative for their long sea voyages.

CRAFTY
PORTER / STOUT
Porter, a type of dark beer, introduced in the 1700’s, that is well balanced and aromatic, with predominant notes of rich chocolate as well as hints of coffee, caramel, nuts, and sometimes a faint smokiness, combined with an often dry finish. Stouts, as we know them, evolved from the Stout Porter, which was a very popular style in London in the 1800s. Stouts are a category of warm-fermented ale styles that are distinguished by their dark colour, generally an opaque deep brown or black, as well as a distinct roasted character that is often perceived as dark chocolate or coffee.

BARREL AGED EXTRA STOUT (ABV 6.2% | IBU 50 | EBC 200)
Foreign Extra Stout is a specialty style of Stout; this style can be anything from sweet to dry. Our Extra Stout sits perfectly in the middle of the spectrum, a multi trophy-winning beer and brewery specialty. This stylish stout is a harmony of hops and malts, and aged with reclaimed French oak barrels to add complexity without any oaky dominance. Rich in flavour, with a deep dark colour and a moreish taste.
PUCKER
Pucker and the sour treats in the Hope Brewery line up, discover three levels of sourness. Berliner Weisse is a beer style originating from the region around Berlin, Germany, in the 17th Century. This long forgotten style has been revived in recent years through modern craft brewing. Its main characteristic is a mild sourness and tartness with a light and fruity character. Hope Brewery uses kettle souring of the wort to produce their Berliner Weisse inspired beers.
A delightful combination of sour beer and fruit that is super refreshing and strangely satisfying. These lighter style sour’s pack intense flavours with pleasant berry, tropical, citrus or mango aromas.
