2 0 1 6 ANNUAL REPORT

John McKinzie LEAD PASTOR

LOST PEOPLE MATTER TO GOD AND THEY MATTER TO US The numbers in Hope Fellowship’s annual report are important because they represent people and changed lives. Every number has a name, every name has a story and every story matters to God. Please read through our Annual Report and see how God has moved through Hope Fellowship in 2016. Your faithfulness and giving has allowed lives to be changed for eternity. The good news is... the best is yet to come!

MISSIONS

NUMANA G I V I N G T O TA L I N 2 0 1 6

$ 1 , 0 5 4 , 3 5 2 . 5 4 Since Hope’s beginning 10% of all of Hope’s regular giving goes to our mission and outreach partners beyond the walls of our church. Here are just a few examples so you can see what’s being done in our community and our world, all because you gave.

In 2016, over 1,600 people came together for Hope Fellowship’s Project Serve with Numana. This event helped to meet the urgent physical needs of impoverished children and families in Rwanda. Amidst friendly chatter and dance parties on stage, families and friends packaged 352,620 meals. Because you gave, $100,000 was used from Hope’s mission budget to pay for this event. Only God!

H O P E PA RT N E R S On January 9, 2000 Hope Fellowship began as a church plant. The financial support of other churches and individuals allowed us to exist and become a source of support and love in our neighborhoods, cities and community. In order to pay it forward, Hope has partnered with ARC (Association of Related Churches), giving $5,000 a month that goes directly to church plants. Because you gave, Hope Fellowship was able to be a part of 79 new churches that launched in 2016!

HOPE CLINIC There is a remote village on an island in South Asia, with a population of over 100,000 people with no medical care. Individuals die daily due to causes such as pregnancy complications and preventable diseases. Because you gave, there is now a free clinic available to all who are in need. By simply providing compassion and meeting basic needs, the salvation of Christ was shared and received by over 8,000 people in this community!

We moved halfway across the country, leaving behind our friends, family and the church home we loved. We truly believed we'd never be able to find a church as good as the one we had left. After receiving a mailer, we decided to give Hope Fellowship a chance. From the moment we entered service, we knew we had found our new home. - 1st Time Guest

BAPTISMS

326 PUBLIC EXPRESSIONS O F FA I T H

Scripture teaches that all who repent and believe in Christ are to be baptized. Baptism is a public profession of faith in Christ and identification with the body of Christ. It is spiritually symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is a declaration to all that we have died to sin and have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Galatians 3:27-28).

As Christ followers we immediately become a part of god’s family… so that we can become something bigger than ourselves. hope fellowship wants you to be a part of our family.

On the last night of Connect Track a couple who were already involved in ministry at Hope made the commitment to attend. During the Step One class, they began to ask questions on baptism, as they were both baptized at a young age. They quickly realized that their baptism was of their parent’s faith and not theirs. Unprepared for that night’s baptism, shorts, towels and t-shirts were quickly gathered for them and they were both baptized!! - McKinney Campus Attender

VOLUNTEERS

Everything in our society teaches us to use our talents for ourselves, make a lot of money, retire, be comfortable and die. That’s the dream. But deep down inside we know we were made for more than that. We know instinctively that there is a bigger purpose in life. It’s that deep desire inside us. We may have covered it up with our fear of failure, but it’s still there, the desire to make a difference. - Rick Warren

member and paid for all his camps, trips and retreats, in the hope that one day this young man would give his life over to Christ. After two years, he came forward during a night at summer camp and said the words, “I am ready to follow Jesus.” He was baptized a week later!

We had issues in our marriage that were tough but having the ability to come together every week and talk about them made them not seem so overwhelming. Hearing other people's stories of struggles, perseverance and victory made us feel like we were not alone on our journey. I came looking to solve a problem in my marriage but what I found was new meaningful lifelong relationships that make a difference everyday.

- Testimonies from re|engage

After serving as a counselor at Royal Family Kids Camp a volunteer recognized that the foster kids under his care acted inappropriately because of past pains and hurts. With God’s help, he realized that the same is true for the adults he comes into contact with on a regular basis. This encouraged him to respond differently to people, instead of being frustrated by people’s actions, he saw them through Christ’s eyes and started loving them through the pain of their past. -RFKC Volunteer

E X PA N D

Regardless of where you are in your walk of faith, at Hope we strive to create a safe environment on all our campuses for all people to express their love to God. God has a purpose for your life and Hope wants to help you connect with that purpose. At Connect Track, individuals spend time diving into what it looks like to follow Jesus, connect to the church, discover purpose and then how to make a difference with our lives. Creating different venues for spiritual growth are an important value at Hope. Whether it's through Bible studies, classes or groups, growing in our faith is vital so we can live the life God intended for us!

It's vital that you get plugged in where God has gifted you and to serve within the church, the community and the world. By serving others, you'll make a difference in the body of Christ, build relationships and grow spiritually. The Frisco East campus is being expanded to create space for the ever-growing population of Frisco and the surrounding areas. There will be additional parking, a new auditorium and expanded children's area.
