Our list for June features an eclectic group, including a run of the The Spirit of the Public Journals which prints a letter purporting to have been written by Bennelong (among much of interest); the rare Italian edition of Clerke's account of the Byron voyage; an extraordinary vision of the death of Cook veteran Alexander Hood; an important sailing pilot for the Torres Strait by King, Blackwood and Denham; a charming original drawing of a kangaroo stuck in the Blitz by the author of Gormenghast, Mervyn Peake; and the marvellous Narrative of Thomas Fyshe Palmer, one of the very small group of eighteenth-century books to recount life on board a convict ship.
