The phenomenon that Hans Hollein already described in his essay "Everything is architecture" in 1967 can be transmitted only too well to the present day, as architects find their place in numerous areas of the human sphere [or “Um-«Welt»“, as Hollein puts it originally]. Whether in spaces of politics or in political positions, the World Wide Web or in the areas of print media, – architects nowadays operate in various spheres of action, which do not seem to be classically intended for them.
We have subsumed this observation under the title "More than architecture". Its phrasing already implies the question, whether there could be a "more" to architecture. Or is rather everything architecture, as Hollein generalisingly suggests?
This issue of HORIZONTE - Journal for Architectural Discourse asks specifically for this MORE and seeks far beyond the conceptual boundaries of the profession.
