She is an extraordinary pianist whose performances of great music by Schumann and Schubert will light up Perth Concert Hall. Schumann was a huge admirer of the music of Schubert and the pairing of the two will offer a remarkable insight into the piano music of the early 19th century.

BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra Debussy’s ‘La Mer' Fri 23 Nov: 7.30pm | Perth Concert Hall Debussy Nocturnes Ravel Piano Concerto for the left hand Debussy Prélude a l'après midi d'un faune Debussy La Mer Joaquín Achúcarro, piano RCS Voices Thomas Dausgaard, conductor 100 years after his death in 1918, Debussy's La Mer is surely the most poetic seascape ever painted for an orchestra. This centenary celebration opens with Nocturnes - Impressionist paintings, transformed into ravishing sound and includes the Prélude whose unprecedented sensuality scandalised Belle Epoque Paris. But there's darkness as well as light: Thomas Dausgaard joins Joaquín Achúcarro in the brooding concerto that Debussy's compatriot Ravel created for a pianist who'd lost an arm in the Great War.

Sibelius's Third Symphony oozes with desperate intensity while Nielsen's Helios is a vivid musical evocation of sunshine shimmering and glittering on the sea. The warmth continues with one of Norway's brightest stars Vilde Frang, who joins for Beethoven's noble Violin Concerto.

Poulenc's Gloria is a celebration - an exuberant shout of joy from a composer who'd seen the best and worst of the 20th century. It's the inspiring finish to a concert that features two irresistible Russian masterpieces by Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky (with the brilliant Alexander Gavrylyuk as soloist), but also, at its heart, a new piece from Ken Johnston as we commemorate the anniversary of WWI, featuring the superb young singers of Glasgow Cambiata. BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra Bruckner Symphony No 7 C.P.E. Bach Symphony in E flat major Wq 179 Stravinsky Violin Concerto Bruckner Symphony No 7 in E major
The first thing you sense is a quiet shimmer in the air. And then, like some vast mountain rising from the clouds, the opening melody of Bruckner's Seventh Symphony soars majestically towards the heavens. Bruckner said it came to him in a dream, played by an angel - but when Ilan Volkov brings his searching musical intelligence and emotional insight to bear on this monumental 'cathedral in sound', the results might well be revelatory. Two contrasting - but equally inventive - masterpieces set the scene: an ebullient little symphony from JS Bach's son Carl Phillip Emmanuel, and the witty, electrically-charged Violin Concerto that Stravinsky intended to be unplayable. No fear on that score from our soloist Carolin Widmann.

Scottish Chamber Orchestra Benedetti Plays Mozart Violin Concertos Nos 3 & 5 Wed 3 Apr: 7.30pm | Perth Concert Hall The Quilter Cheviot Benedetti Series Mozart Mozart Anna Clyne Mozart
Violin Concerto No 3 in G Symphony No 35 'Haffner' Within her Arms Violin Concerto No 5 in A 'Turkish'
Nicola Benedetti, violin/director Benjamin Marquise Gilmore, violin/director Benedetti play-directs two Mozart Violin Concertos with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. These lovely pieces are perfect for her: Mozart probably wrote them for himself to play on his many tours and needless to say, he made sure they had all you could wish for in a showpiece. Anna Clyne's Within her Arms has been compared to Barber's Adagio for Strings for its radiance and intensity - a moving contrast to Mozart's youthful high spirits. Brilliant, tuneful, rhythmic, exotic, that's what 'Turkish' meant to Mozart, and his violin concerto is a joyous showstopper for Scotland's favourite violinist.
Royal Scottish National Orchestra Beethoven Five Thu 2 May: 7.30pm | Perth Concert Hall Beethoven Coriolan Overture Mozart Concerto for Flute and Harp Beethoven Symphony No 5 Katherine Bryan, flute Pippa Tunnell, harp Nathalie Stutzmann, conductor 'Da-da-da-daaa!': everyone knows the first four notes of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. Now's your chance to hear the rest - and it's gripping: a no-holds-barred emotional struggle from tragedy to triumph, in some of the most dramatic music ever written. It's perfect for our inspirational guest conductor Nathalie Stutzmann. First, though, comes something a bit gentler, as the RSNO's Principal Flute Katherine Bryan and harpist Pippa Tunnell perform Mozart's elegant - but deliciously witty - Concerto for Flute and Harp.

Some say that British soldiers in the trenches held up cardboard cut-outs of Charlie Chaplin’s tramp in the hope that the enemy would die laughing. But as the carnage of war set in, Chaplin’s image was put to a different use. To boost morale, medical staff arranged for Chaplin films to be shown for the bedridden, with the ward’s ceiling serving as the silver screen. Using their distinctive style – total darkness, minimal lighting and immersive sound design – Sound&Fury’s Charlie Ward is a sound installation lasting around 15 minutes and presented to audiences of just 10 people at each performance. Co-commissioned by 14-18 NOW with support from Wellcome Trust and Fuel. Charlie Ward premiered in summer 2014, as part of 14-18 NOW, at the Cinema Museum in London.. Age guidance: 12+

The life-affirming, song-and-dance-filled musical drama, based on the true story of seven teenagers, whose lives change forever when their friend and her asylum-seeking family are forcibly taken from their home to be deported. The young women take a stand and fight for the rights of their friend and, ultimately, for the rights of all children of asylum-seekers. This potent political drama uses uplifting songs, music, dance and humour to tell the Glasgow Girls’ tale. Its universal appeal and ecstatic audience response ensured it was a massive hit at Edinburgh Fringe 2016, selling more tickets than any other show in the festival. Age guidance: 12+

Snow White never asked to be beautiful. She never asked to be given a name that reduces her to her perfect complexion. It's particularly embarrassing now that she has a bout of acne... Since her father married that awful witch, she spends hours alone in her room. When her evil stepmother makes her first attempt on Snow White's life, Snow White decides it's time for a change. She's going undercover and in disguise: Snow White, no more! But she still must save her father and regain her kingdom. And all this, while aided and abetted by not one but seven dames who have decided they are taking young Snow White under their bat-wings.

Pepper, and the creative masterpieces The White Album and Abbey Road. 'like a scene from A Hard Day's Night. Amazing' The Sunday Times Prestige Productions presents

Previous inductees include Noel Coward, Burt Bacharach, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Leonard Cohen, Elton John and Sting.
Winner of Best Songwriter, Best Song, Best Male Vocalist and International Country Album Charlie's talent and chart-topping records received the ultimate recognition in 2011 when he was inducted into the British Country Music Hall of Fame - a wonderful achievement for any artist. His music covers many areas, from beautiful ballads to folk, blues, country, rock 'n' roll, pop, gospel and anthems, showing a depth of compassion and understanding which seems almost incongruous to his simplistic yet captivating style.
