William has lied. It is not because I am undeserving. Not because I am young and they are old. God has given them nothing. I know this now’ Dream-play, thriller and love triangle meld in this unsettling tale about the constraints and liberating possibilities of language, and a journey from ignorance to knowledge in a young peasant woman. David Harrower’s dark rural drama is the most internationally performed modern Scottish play next to JM Barrie’s Peter Pan! Three royal brothers, alike in every way but one - only the eldest can wear the crown. A shame for Edward and Clarence then, that their brother, Richard, is youngest… It’s time for them to stand aside, or face the consequences. Richard is on his way up. Richard is scourge, trail-blazer, and finally king, in this darkly funny, twisted political thriller about grabbing power no matter what the cost. Why be good when being bad is, quite simply, so much fun?

Every autumn, two and a half thousand pink-footed geese fly from Greenland to winter at Fala Flow, a protected peatbog southeast of Edinburgh. From this windy plateau, Scotland’s leading singer-songwriter Karine Polwart surveys the surrounding landscape through history, song, bird-lore and personal memoir. Ideas of sanctuary, maternity, goose skeins, Scottish football legend and medieval medicine all take flight, in this compelling combination of story and song. Nominated for Best New Play, Best Production, Best Director and winner of Best Music and Sound at CATS 2017 (Critic’s Awards for Theatre in Scotland).

Piano Concerto No 25, K503 Symphony No 8
Peter Oundjian, conductor Christian Blackshaw, piano They call Bruckner's symphonies 'cathedrals in sound', and it's true - Bruckner's Eighth Symphony contains some of the grandest and most beautiful sounds ever assembled, by a composer with a vision of another world. RSNO Music Director Peter Oundjian loves it, and he's paired it with something very different but equally beautiful Mozart's jubilant Piano Concerto No 25. The perfect musical palate-cleanser! Pre-concert Talk: 6.45pm Dr Krishna Thiagarajan (RSNO Chief Executive) in conversation with Peter Oundjian. (free to ticket holders) Scottish Chamber Orchestra

Pelléas et Mélisande Saxophone Concerto World Premiere (Co-Commissioned by Perth Concert Hall, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and the Aurora Orchestra) Glazunov Saxophone Concerto Beethoven Symphony No 8
Amy Dickson wears her phenomenal virtuosty lightly, as though playing the saxophone were as natural as breathing. She has made Glazunov's captivating concerto her own, and pairs it with a very special event: a new concerto from Sir James Macmillan. Swensen opens and closes the evening with two great titans of his own musical world: Sibelius and Beethoven. His interpretations of both abound in vitality, power and edge-of-the-seat intensity. In between comes a glimpse of a teenage composer in love, as the award-winning young French virtuoso David Kadouch spins purest gold from the hearts and flowers of Chopin's Second Piano Concerto. Weir Welcome Arrival of Rain Capperauld Piano Concerto Stravinsky Rite of Spring
Winners of the Sky Arts and Royal Philharmonic Society Opera award, Opera North’s performances are regarded as being utterly superb. We are thrilled to present them in a concert performance of Richard Strauss’s Salome. Based on Oscar Wilde’s Salomé, this is the savage and bloody tale of King Herod’s step-daughter. When Herod’s prisoner Jokanaan rebuffs her advances, Salome vows she will kiss him – no matter the consequences. From the seductive Dance of the Seven Veils to the explosive vocal writing, the violent sensuality of the score illustrates every moment of the story with unflinching vividness. This is opera at its most extreme, concentrated into 100 exhilarating minutes.
We are part of nature, and it is part of us. This spring in Perth, NYOS Symphony Orchestra presents a programme full of natural wonder sure to delight audiences of all ages. First, Judith Weir's exuberant piece The Welcome Arrival of Rain, the world premiere of Jay Capperauld’s Piano Concerto and Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring.

Written at the same time as A Child of our Time, Tippett’s Concerto for Double String Orchestra is one of his finest orchestral works.
