The beginnings • 1957: foundation17 apple- and winegrowers found the South Tyrolean Extension Service. • The organisation aims at independent and neutral consulting for the farmers. • Basic principles: Consulting has to be objective, up-to-date and neutral. • 1958: Hermann Oberhofer first full-time fruit-growing consultant • 1960: consulting for winegrowing • 1998: consulting for apricot growers • 2000: consulting for organic growing • 2012: consulting for cherry growers -20-
