Honors Convocation is made possible by significant sponsorship from college offices including: Office of Administration and Finance Office of Institutional Advancement President’s Office Thank you!
IN REMEMBERANCE OF THIS MOMENT IN TIME “The talent of success is nothing more than doing what you can do well; and doing well whatever you do...”-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow The Senate Scholarship and Awards Committee (SSAC) and the Office of Academic Affairs are pleased to welcome you to this very special virtual celebration of students' scholarship and achievement at the 37th Annual Honors Convocation. When we reflect on all that the Hostos community has experienced over the past year, we feel so fortunate to be able to celebrate our students’ academic accomplishments. Our students have faced extraordinary circumstances and challenges while working toward their degrees during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it gives us great pleasure to recognize these student scholars who have excelled in their academic programs and extracurricular activities, all while balancing countless other commitments and responsibilities. In addition to working and learning remotely, many of our students have been serving on the front lines of the pandemic as essential workers. Others have taken on the role of teacher, educating their children at home while also managing their own coursework and other parental responsibilities. We continue to hold in our hearts those who have found themselves caring for friends and family who have fallen ill and those who have endured the loss of a loved one over this past year. The students we recognize today join a class of honorees that exemplify Hostos’s long tradition of resilience, determination, and excellence. As
IN REMEMBERANCE OF THIS MOMENT IN TIME you look to the future, we hope that you keep your goals at the forefront as you charge toward the remainder of your academic journey. We hope that you continue to see Hostos as the engine that moves you forward and that you always remember there is no limit to your ability to achieve. We anticipate that for you, this is just the beginning. We could not be prouder of your accomplishments and are so pleased to be able to share this moment with you, your friends, and family.
Sincerely, The Senate Scholarship and Awards Committee & The Office of Academic Affairs
