Hostos Community College partners with
AHRC New York City Melissa Riggio Higher Education Program For over 10 years, the partnership between AHRC New York City, Hostos Community College (HCC) and the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities has made available a fully inclusive higher education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
The Melissa Riggio Higher Education Program at Hostos Community College is a fully integrated college-based program designed to prepare people with IDD for adult life through higher education coursework, career exploration and preparation, community living, personal development and socialization. The Program engages students in supporting individual academic, vocational, community and social experiences. The Melissa Riggio Higher Education Program at HCC encourages and empowers students to develop skills, learn to self-reflect, make informed decisions, accept challenges, build social networks and make meaningful connections while having the opportunity to be fully included in all aspects of the College.
