Hotel Touring 1 January 2015 Hotel Touring
10 Things I Love About Hotel Touring A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I decided it would be fun to spend the night in our own city (Bologna), just to get away from all the distractions of home. It might sound like a crazy thing to do, but honestly it was one of the most romantic things we have done in Bologna! Naturally we chose Hotel Touring, as I have been a long time fan of this charming boutique hotel. What do I love about this hotel so much? Keep reading to find out!
10 Things I Love About Hotel Touring 1. The location – situated in a quiet, quaint area, yet still only a few steps away from Piazza Maggiore. 2. It’s family owned – Rest assured that you will be well taken care of by the Stegani family, who have been running this hotel for more than 100 years. Bonus: they’re Bolognesi through and through. 3. Rain goddess showerhead – It’s the little things that go a long way and this amazing rain shower head had me feeling like a goddess of the rainforest! 4. A mattress to remember – Their super comfy bed had my boyfriend meticulously studying the mattress setup. We slept like babies!
5. Italian coffee made to order – Day old, lukewarm coffee? Not at Hotel Touring. Just ask one of the hotel staff to for your coffee of choice and voila! A foaming cappuccino to kickstart your morning. 6. Friendly staff – Even the night staff was friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. 7. Selfies for coffee – Take a selfie in the Hotel’s lounge area, upload it to Instagram and you’ll get a coffee, on the house. #love #hoteltouring 8. Relaxing lounge and patio – Enjoy your cappuccino in the chic lounge area or the charming patio/garden – your choice, but why not enjoy both? 9. Jacuzzi – Yes, there is a jacuzzi (pronounced “yah-coo-zee” in Italian), open from June to September. 10. Splendid rooftop terrace – Take the elevator up to the 5th floor and discover one of Bologna’s best hidden gems: La Terrazza Mattuiani overlooking Bologna and surrounding hillsides. Did I mention this is where the jacuzzi is?
There are plenty of good hotels in Bologna, but for me Hotel Touring offers something unique that you just can’t get anywhere else. Where else in Bologna can you enjoy a cappuccino while overlooking the city from a rooftop terrace? Where else in Bologna can you feel well taken care of by a Bolognesi family? Where else in Bologna can you spend a quiet evening all the while knowing you are only a few footsteps the ctiy center?
