From the PUBLISHER
WE ARE BACK IN PRINT Welcome back to this week's edition of Hotspots. I can't begin to tell you how pleased I am that we are able to offer you the Digital Content Manager option of reading us online and Matt@HotspotsMedia.com back in print for the first time Matt Tesoriero since the pandemic began. We made a conscious decision to go digital only as many businesses were closed and our distribution network was limited to just outdoor boxes. Unlike other LGBT publications, we publish a fresh magazine every week, 52 weeks a year, and have never missed an issue in our 35 years history. Today, I'm happy to report that many of our beloved LGBTQ businesses and services are ramping back up and following the new CDC guidelines. To help, we will start by printing a monthly edition the first Thursday of every month (Next Edition: July 2nd). The weekly edition is still being published every week online with fresh content as always. I don't need to tell you that these
are very difficult times for all of us and, while it seems clichĂŠ to say; we will get through this together!
On Monday, the Supreme Court issued a major win for the LGBTQ+ community and issued a ground breaking ruling that prohibits workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. While marriage equality was a major win for us under the Obama administration, this 6 - 3 ruling means that employers can no longer discriminate against anyone simply for who they love or who they are.
Happy Father's Day, and Have a great week. Also, don't forget to tune into Hotspots Live every week for the latest video news and entertainment right here in South Florida!

Yanni Burton turns the spotlight on his own struggles of letting go and moving on from past relationships in his new single and music video, “A Part of Me,” releasing Independence Day weekend. “I have a history of getting lost in memories and emotions,” Yanni admits. “To the point where I become consumed with panic, anxiety and I can’t function properly or move on with my life.” Produced by Yanni with his close friend Tiger Darrow, the song contains a dreamy, trippy soundscape and is darker and more emotionally intense than his previous singles. However, it still contains the pop/dance feel the artist has become known for. “As heavy as the lyrics may seem, I still want listeners to have fun, dance a little and let loose,” he explains. “I hope to inspire a sense of celebration that comes with gaining freedom from the mistakes of our past.” Yanni Burton’s “A Part of Me” is available now on Apple Music, Spotify and all digital
platforms. Its music video is on Youtube at: https://youtu.be/Y7qRgMb3VA0. Filmed by Brian Thomas and famed dancer/choreographer Cassidy Noblett (who has toured the world with Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry, among others), the music video for “A Part of Me” depicts the madness and dream like world Yanni sings about in the song. It was shot entirely in a black box with UV lights. “The idea was to turn off the lights and to expose the marks left behind from previous relationships; marks that you cannot physically see but the illusions and fantasies that still linger in the mind,” Yanni says. It features artists from the CDI (Commercial Dance Intensive) group, an elite program that trains the next generation of superstar dancers. Yanni Burton grew up in Adelaide, Australia, and attended the prestigious Juilliard School in Manhattan where he studied the double bass. He holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in orchestral performance and is Producer and General Manager of the Salome Chamber Orchestra, where he has performed alongside a long list of celebrated artists including John Legend, Michelle Williams, Natasha Bedding ield and Rufus Wainwright. Yanni describes his life today as much less chaotic. “At least it was before COVID 19 struck,” he laughs. He has also found love. He and his iancé were engaged last year and intend to get married in the Spring. Yanni Burton’s “A Part of Me” is available now on Apple Music, Spotify and all digital platforms. Severino, however, believes that the religious rights of health care workers are being violated if they have to take care of transgender people. And, let’s be honest, it’s likely the only kind of medical care Severino associates with transgender people is what he no doubt calls a “sex change

Gonzalez-Pagan continued. “We will fight back.” I’m glad that we have folks like GonzalezPagan working hard to protect LGBTQ rights, but remember that if the people who write the laws in the first place think LGBTQ people are human beings, we wouldn’t be at this sad awful juncture.
