If you are thinking of adopting a dog, please check out Abandoned Pet Rescue. Congrats to DR, Cabrera and Dimitri for once again putting on a stellar event!

How long have you guys been producing shows?
LGBTQ+ shows since 1997. I've been promoting concerts since the 80's.
How did you create Murray and Peter Presents and DragFans.com?
It made sense to use our names, so the community knew who we were. DragFans was a natural website for fans of drag. Now we have a registered trademark on the name.
Do you guys have a favorite tour over the last 10 years and if so, why?
Haters Roast, by a long shot. The jokes are nasty fun and there was always one drunk queen on every tour that turned the party, and social media.
Other than South Florida, is there a city or a venue you always look forward to?
Orpheum Theatre in Omaha and State Theatre Portland ME. The smaller cities always bang it out.

The biggest queen. Describe Peter in 3 words? Dedicated to success.
When you are not on the road what do you do for fun?
We are always on the road…lol… so we make our own fun along the way. Our new show "Golden Girls The Laughs Continue" is a huge hit so we are always working. It's played in over 100 cities and we've extended the tour to another 100+ cities in 2025.
What does the future hold for Murray and Peter Presents and DragFans.com?
What should our readers expect from this year’s tour of A Drag Queen Christmas?
For the 10th Anniversary tour, we have the most winners ever on the show. And this year’s production value is over the top. We still can't believe the tour moves with 2 semis, 2 trucks and 2 buses. There's over 30 people traveling with the tour. We've come a long way. And it all started out with us flying from city to city, renting cars and chasing lost luggage. Thank God those days are behind us.
We have a passion to get back into the nightclub business with an eye on Fort Lauderdale. As for drag, we hope to bring back Haters Roast ... if the fans are ready for a night of insensitive comedy, all in good fun.
I have been to quite a few Murray and Peters Productions, and they are always top notch, so get your tickets at Dragfans.com for this fabulous show and I promise you will have fun!

With its opulent settings, dazzling costumes and a soaring score that includes song favorites "Journey to the Past" and "Once Upon a December" from the hit animated film that inspired the spectacular musical, “Anastasia” is about discovering who you are and defining who you're meant to be.
Directed by Slow Burn Theatre Artistic Director and Carbonell Award winner Patrick Fitzwater, the musical transports audiences from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the euphoria of Paris in the 1920s, as a brave young woman sets out to discover the mystery of her past. Pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer determined to silence her, Anya enlists the aid of Dimitry, a dashing conman and Vlad, a lovable ex-aristocrat. It was a pleasure to sit down with Mikayla Cohen (Anya) for this exclusive Hotspots interview”
At what age did you begin performing and how did it happen?
I began performing when I was about 5or 6-years old singing at local events but the first time I performed in a musical was 7 or 8 and I fell in love with musical theater.
What was your first professional gig and how much did you get paid?
My first prof gig was the summer after my first year of college as I did two show sin Indiana: Sister Act and Into the Woods.
When did you know performing would be your career?
I always had the passion to pursue performing as a career, and I am privileged enough to never have questioned it. If I wasn’t doing a musical, I was doing wedding bands or singing in girl groups or performing at Galas. I also have a great support system and with hard work and determination I have been able to sustain myself in NYC, and it’s been a real dream. During the pandemic I created a party princess business to give people joy and happiness, so I got to perform during the pandemic as well.
I see you have worked with Slow Burn before, why is this such a great company to work for?
I love working at Slow Burn as I feel like everyone can put a little bit of themselves into the show, and it feels like a collaborative family that is warm and welcome. Patrick trusts everyone on the team to bring the best version of themselves, and we can make something very special and meaningful.
Other than this show, what has been your favorite role so far?
Sister Mary Roberts in Sister Act. I played that role with Slow Burn as well.
What’s your fantasy role (a role you haven’t played but would die to play)?
I would love to play Ana or Elsa in Frozen, Carole King in Beautiful or Jenna and/or Dawn in Waitress.
a very universal story about love, family, self-discovery and belonging. All the core themes of the show will really resonate with anyone.
Is there anything else you want to talk about?
Bodyguard The Musical” (June 7 – 22).

BODY DYSMORPHIA
Flex Your Perspective
By: Leo Harley
In this issue we are going to go extra deep by your request. I took to my Instagram.com/the.leonator to ask what topics you would like to discuss here on Hot bodies. Body dysmorphia came on top, and I am sure everyone can relate. It is one of those things we all deal with, or have dealt with... I know I have.
If you’ve ever looked in the mirror and felt like you’re not enough, you’re not alone. Body dysmorphia is more common than you might think, but the good news is that there is a cure. And it has a lot more to do with your head than with your body.
Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) is like having a funhouse mirror in your mind that exaggerates perceived flaws. Whether it’s your nose, your abs, or the shape of your butt, BDD can make you hyper-focused on something most people wouldn’t notice. It’s not just insecurity; it’s a deeper struggle that can impact your mental health, relationships, and yes - even your gym gains.
Let’s be honest, fitness can sometimes feel like a hall of mirrors, with distorted reflections and unattainable standards staring back at us. On the one hand it promotes health and wellness. On the other
hand, it can foster unrealistic ideals. It’s easy to get caught up in chasing the “perfect HOTbody,” but here’s the twist - there’s no such thing! Many of us start our fitness journey with good intentions - to feel strong, energized, and confident. But somewhere along the way, it’s easy to slide into a mindset of “I’ll be happy when I look like THAT.” Spoiler alert: “THAT” isn’t a destination; it’s a mirage.
Are you constantly checking mirrors or avoiding them altogether? Do you find yourself comparing your body to others, or feeling guilty for missing a workout? These behaviors can signal an unhealthy relationship with your body. Recognizing this is the first step to flipping the script.
Building
striving for six-pack abs; aim to do 10 push-ups, run a mile, or nail that yoga pose.
Self-Acceptance: A Workout for Your Mind
Self-acceptance isn’t about giving up on goals; it’s about honoring where you are while striving to improve. It’s the foundation that allows you to celebrate progress, no matter how small, and to approach fitness with gratitude rather than guilt. Think of self-acceptance as the ultimate fitness routine for your brain. Here’s your five-step plan:
1. Challenge Negative Thoughts: Every time you catch yourself thinking, “I hate my [insert body part],” reframe it. For example, “My legs are strong and help me move.”
2. Practice Gratitude: Write down three things your body did for you today. Maybe it carried you through a tough workout, helped you hug a loved one, or simply got you out of bed.
3. Unfollow the Unrealistic: Curate your social media feed to include diverse body types and inspiring fitness journeys. Seeing relatable content can help normalize the idea that everybody is different, and that makes us unique.
4. Focus on Function: Shift your goals from aesthetics to performance. Instead of
5. Seek Support: Whether it’s a therapist, a trusted friend, or a support group, talking about your feelings can lighten the load, and allows you to welcome new perspectives of yourself.
Fitness is about progress, not perfection. Some days, you’ll feel like a rockstar; other days, you’ll want to skip the gym and binge-watch your favorite show. Both are okay! Remember that your worth isn’t defined by your waistline or your PRs but by the kindness and respect you show yourself and others.
By embracing self-acceptance, you’re not just improving your mental health, you’re setting yourself up for a more sustainable and enjoyable fitness journey. It doesn’t mean you’ll never have moments of doubt or insecurity. Self-acceptance is a practice, but as you cultivate it, your fitness journey becomes less about fixing flaws and more about loving yourself and celebrating your incredible, capable body, So go ahead—embrace your strengths, honor your journey, and redefine what fitness means to you. I hope that next time you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, you flex that smile and remember you’re already amazing because you are unique, and that’s more than enough.

1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce, slightly mashed
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1/2 cup cranberry juice
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 quarts unsalted popped popcorn
Holiday Wreath Popcorn Treats:
To make cranberry popcorn balls: In heavy saucepan, combine sugar, cranberry
3 quarts popped popcorn
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
3 cups miniature marshmallows
3 tablespoons (1/2 of 3-ounce box) lime gelatin dessert mix
small red candies
jelly beans
red fruit leather
sauce, orange peel, cranberry juice, corn syrup, vinegar and salt. Bring to boil; lower heat and cook to 250 F on candy thermometer. Mixture will bubble in pan so watch to keep from boiling over.
Pour mixture slowly onto hot popcorn and mix until well-coated. Let stand 5 minutes, or until mixture can easily be formed into balls. Butter hands and form into 3-inch balls.
To make holiday wreath popcorn treats: Spray large mixing bowl lightly with nonstick cooking spray and place popcorn inside. In medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in marshmallows and gelatin dessert powder until marshmallows are melted and mixture is smooth. Pour over popcorn and mix well until coated. Spray hands with nonstick cooking spray and press firmly to form popcorn mixture into 9-inch logs then bend to form “wreaths.” Place “wreaths” on wax paper. Press candy pieces and jelly beans onto wreath to decorate; add “ribbon” cut from fruit leather.
