pisode 4 of Prince Charming started out with Robert coming over to cook breakfast for the guys. Chad and Robert had a private moment in the swing which ended with a kiss and a lot of spark! The first date this week revolved around a meal where Robert had to pick an appetizer date (Robbie), an EntrĂŠe date (Eric) and Dessert (Brandon). All 3 dates were good. The next date was a workout date with Paul, Chad, Justin, and Dillon. Everyone shined at this date except Paul, who doesn't like to sweat. In the end, Robert decided to send Paul home.

How did you feel when you found out you got cast? I was incredibly flattered, and simultaneously terrified of what I'd signed myself up for. I had very little information about the entire experience before we started, and, for a type-A planner like me, that's a uncomfortable place to be.

What was it like when you got the tie? I've never been a very confident person—my t e n d e n c y t o w a rd s p e r f e c t i o n i s m i s

compensation for that. I honestly was surprised that Robert kept me during that first Black Tie Affair, and I was so thankful for the opportunity to show him more of my personality.

I was shocked when you got eliminated as I thought you were one of the frontrunners. Were you shocked and why? Yes and no. Up until very close to my last Black Tie Affair, I really felt like Robert and I were starting to develop a connection. Then, the day before the ceremony, something in his demeanor seemed to change suddenly. I'm sure part of it had to do with our date at the gym; I'm not naturally athletic, and, honestly, I'm kind of clumsy. The workouts we did ended up making me very self conscious, and I know I appeared stiff and uncomfortable.

Do you feel this show helped you move on after the suicide of your ex? I struggled with my decision to discuss Ben on the show, but, ultimately, I decided to do so for a couple reasons. First, it's the main reason I

haven't allowed myself to be open to love again. It would have been impossible for me to explain why I haven't been able to open up emotionally, and why dating feels so awkward to me, without talking about my relationship with Ben. Second, and this was my tipping point, I thought about how alone Ben must have felt that day. I'll probably always ask myself if there was something else I could have done, but what eats me up is that he wasn't able to reach out for help. The show has provided me with an incredible opportunity, this exposure, to offer resources, to make depression and that sense of feeling alone in the world something that was okay to talk about, and hopefully prevent someone else from making that same decision.

Tell us some things about you that we didn't see on the show? I'm involved with a few causes that do outstanding work , specifically HRC, DIFFA/Dallas, Dallas Red Foundation, and The Trevor Project. The Trevor Project is the only national resource for LGBTQ youth in crisis, and they provide life-saving resources for our community and staff a 24 hour suicide prevention hotline.

Now that you are eliminated who do you want Robert to end up with and why? You know, I never saw this as a competition. Perhaps that was naiveté on my part. I genuinely hope Robert is intuitive enough to select the guy that is the best match for him—not just the guy who is best at playing the game.

Each year, along with the help of Equality Forum and LGBTHistoryMonth.com, Hotspots celebrates LGBT History Month by honoring members of the community who are advancing our rights, fighting for visibility, and who help move us forward towards a life where everyone feels free to live life as who they really are. This week, we honor Josephine Baker, an African American entertainer who found fame in France. We also honor American Playwright Terrance McNally, who has written extensively about LGBT issues and has won top awards in his field including an Emmy and a Tony.

(June 3, 1906 - April 12, 1975)

osephine Baker was an American-born entertainer who found fame as a dancer, singer and actress in Paris. Sometimes called the “Jazz Cleopatra,” Baker was born Freda Josephine McDonald in a poor neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri. After facing abuse and racial discrimination in America, she moved to France in the 1920s where she became a celebrated performer and the first black woman to star in a major motion picture. Her exotic beauty inspired Ernest Hemingway to describe her as “the most sensational woman anyone ever saw.” Baker's landmark cabaret show, “La Revue Nègre,” became the toast of Paris thanks to her onstage antics. She exuded sexuality, wearing next to nothing and performing tribal-inspired dances with comic touches and cultural commentary. When she returned to the United States as a major star a decade later, the reception was quite different. American audiences rejected her, and The New York Times called her a “negro wench.” She went back to Europe brokenhearted. During World War II, Baker earned recognition performing for troops and smuggling secret messages on music sheets for the French Resistance. She also served as a sub-lieutenant in the Women's Auxiliary Army. She was honored with the Croix de Guerre and named Chevalier of the Legion of Honor by the French government. In the 1950s and '60s, Baker again faced racial

discrimination in America, where the most popular clubs prohibited her from performing. She publicly criticized the Jim Crow laws that enforced segregation and refused to perform in segregated clubs. In 1951 Baker was honored for her activism by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), which declared May 20th Josephine Baker Day. Baker talked publicly about racial equality in France and segregation at home. She spoke at the March on Washington in 1963 alongside Dr. Martin Luther King. Baker married and divorced four times and adopted 12 children of varying ethnic backgrounds, which she called “The Rainbow Tribe.” One son later described his mother as a bisexual, noting a relationship she had with the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Baker also has been linked romantically to the novelist Colette, fellow expatriate performer Bricktop and other women. Baker became a citizen of France, where she remains an icon. In 1991 HBO released “The Josephine Baker Story,” which earned five Emmys and a Golden Globe.

TERRANCE MCNALLY (Born November 3, 1938)

errence McNally is an award-winning American playwright whose career spans five decades. His work, which delves into themes of family, war, sexuality and religion, has earned him four Tony Awards. Raised in Texas, McNally moved to New York City to attend Columbia University. His first job was as a tutor for John Steinbeck's children. During this time, McNally wrote his first play, and Steinbeck asked him to write the libretto for the musical based on his novel “East of Eden.” McNally spend much of his early career writing and submitting works to theater companies around the country. At the famous Actors Studio, he met the playwright Edward Albee, with whom he became romantically involved. McNally's first play was a flop, but he went on to write several successful off-Broadway shows, including “Witness” and “Sweet Eros.” His breakout, “Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune,” was later adapted into a film starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer. Several of McNally's plays have been adapted for the screen. McNally's “Lips Together, Teeth Apart,” about two married couples who spend a weekend on Fire Island, is a landmark play about AIDS. McNally also explored gay themes in the book for the musical “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” for which he won his

first Tony Award. His play “Love! Valour! Compassion!” earned him another Tony Award for its portrayal of eight gay men facing issues of fidelity, love and happiness. In 1996 McNally was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame. McNally's controversial play “Corpus Christi” depicts a modern-day Jesus as a homosexual. The Manhattan Theater Club, the first company to consider staging it, received death threats and temporarily canceled the production before enjoying a successful run. The play continues to spark controversy . In 2014 McNally's play “Mothers and Sons” opened on Broadway. It explores the relationship between a mother and her dead son's former gay partner. The play revisits McNally's 1990 television movie, “Andre's Mother,” for which he won an Emmy Award. McNally and his partner, Thomas Kirdahy, married in Vermont in 2003, and again in Washington, D.C., in 2010. McNally's collection of works and notes are held in an open archive at the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin. MAN Enough

To Wear Pink Light-hearted fundraiser helps LGBTQ community raise money for breast cancer.

Men can get breast cancer but male breast cancer is very rare. Less than one percent of all breast cancer cases develop in men, and only one in a thousand men will ever be diagnosed with breast cancer. That statistic is not so great when it comes to women. About 1 in 8 US women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. As gay men we don't have to deal with the issues that women do when it comes to their breasts. However, we do all have mothers, sisters, aunts, nieces and female friends that might be affected by breast cancer. Four years ago, Kevin Broady teamed up with the Susan G. Komen South Florida Foundation, and created the Pink Bra Auction Fundraiser, to bring awareness about breast cancer and the muchneeded funds in search of a cure and research. The Susan G. Komen South Florida, The South Florida Affiliate of Komen for the Cure is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancers in the local community. They join more than a million breast cancer survivors and activists around the globe as part of the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting breast cancer. Through events like the Komen South Florida Race for the CureÂŽ, the South Florida Affiliate has invested over $11.6 million in community breast health programs. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stay in the South Florida area. The remaining income goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program to fund research.

We recently had the opportunity to discuss with Kevin Broady, why he started this fundraiser and the success around this lighthearted fun LGBTQ event.

Why did you decide to start the Pink Bra Auction? I wanted to do something to support this cause because so many women die every year from breast cancer. I kept thinking what if my mother or my nieces got breast cancer? I didn't want them to go through that pain and suffering. This is our fourth annual event and we have raised $12,000.00 over the years; the show of support and participation from the LGBTQ community has been phenomenal. There is even competition between some businesses to raise the most money for their bra.

How did you come up with the idea? I was watching TV and saw two men running the high heel race and they were wearing these decorated pink bras and pink heals. I laughed and thought to myself, what a great idea in showing support; grown broad-shouldered men wearing a bra that barely fit. These men were man enough to wear pink and a bra at the same time. It was humorous, a great concept and the so idea was born.

Have you had someone close to you get breast cancer? I have not had a female in my life that has had to live with breast cancer, however I have a very dear female friend of mine that did die from cancer. I witnessed the daily pain and agony that she went through. I felt helpless, there was nothing I could do but show support and be there when I was needed.

What is one of the best highlight moments that have happened during the event? I love it when these muscular gym-bodied men get up on stage wearing a decorated pink bra. You can tell they feel just a little embarrassed or uncomfortable, then when the auction starts they start feeling empowered and want to show there NEW over-the-shoulder boulderholders to the world. Their confidence and enthusiasm is priceless. It's as if they are playing with a new toy.

How can someone get involved in the fundraising event? Anyone can get involved, male or female, personally or a business. Just go out and

purchase a pink bra, decorate or bling it up, bring it and a model to wear it on stage. We will do the rest by auctioning it off to the crowd and all the proceeds to directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The idea is to have your bra raise the most money, some of the ways to do that is to add incentives to the bra like matching items, gift certificates, just be creative. Then, bring along some friends and have them bid against each other to raise the bid higher. If you're a business- collect donations, then add those donations to the package and get the highest bid on the bra. It's a good way to promote your business, have a few laughs and a great time. Remember it all goes to a good cause. They will also be holding a silent auction, another great way to promote your business, so we are accepting those donations as well. We will be providing the paperwork necessary for your business to use this event as a charitable tax donation, upon request.

The event will be held at The Boardwalk Bar 1721 N Andrews Ave Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311; 954-463th 6969. Monday October 17 starting at 8:00 pm. Local celebrities will be hosting the event during the auction and the silent auctions will start at 7:00 pm. If you would like a participation package, email kbroady2013@aol.com. Packets are also available at The Boardwalk Bar front door. Photos by Dennis Dean

BIANCA DEL RIO

is Back!

The “Not Today Satan” Tour Takes Over Parker Playhouse alled “The Joan Rivers of the Drag World,” by The New York Times, Bianca Del Rio will perform at Parker Playhouse on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for the evening presented by AEG Live and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. The alter ego of seasoned comic Roy Haylock and Season 6 winner of RuPaul's Drag Race, Del Rio is a self-professed “clown in a gown.” This hilariously hateful comic is known for her foul mouth and unapologetic humor, but her victims hardly have time to feel the sting before she zips on to the next topic. Besides, she is quick to point out that she's the biggest joke of all. Rolodex of Hate, Del Rio's first stand up special, is based on her sold-out world comedy tour of the same name and is now available on Vimeo. This year should see the release of Hurricane Bianca, a feature-length comedy that stars Del Rio as a New York teacher who moves to a small town in Texas, gets fired for being gay,

and returns disguised as a mean "lady" to get revenge on the people who were nasty to him. Tickets are $35.50 with $73 VIP tickets that include premium seating. Ticketmaster is the only official ticketing service of the Broward Center, Parker Playhouse and affiliated venues. Buy tickets online at www.BrowardCenter.org, www.ParkerPlayhouse.com, www.Ticketmaster.com; by phone at 954-4620222; in person at Ticketmaster outlets or the Broward Center's AutoNation Box Office. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Parker Playhouse box office Tuesday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Parker Playhouse, located in Holiday Park at 707 N.E. Author Jake Biondi talks BOYSTOWN with

F

or several years now, Author Jake Biondi has been writing the serial novel BOYSTOWN about a group of men who call the famous Chicago neighborhood home. It was a pleasure to chat with Biondi, who gave us some insight into how the series came about.

What inspired you to write the BOYSTOWN series? BOYSTOWN has a very interesting history. I began writing BOYSTOWN as an online story and intended to release one “episode” online per month, each ending in a cliffhanger. The story became so popular -- and the online reading audience grew so quickly -- that people from all over the country began to email me demanding to know what happened to their favorite characters and wanting the episodes to be released faster. I have always been a fan of continuing, serialized dramas, whether they be classics such as the novels of Charles Dickens or more contemporary examples such as Dallas, Dynasty, and Revenge. I thought it was finally

time for a well-written, intriguing drama that had gay characters at its core. And after living in Chicago's Boystown neighborhood for twenty years, I thought to myself, “What better place to inspire a continuing drama?” Thus, BOYSTOWN story was born.

How do you develop your characters? Every good saga has a family at its core. BOYSTOWN has two -- the Mancinis and the Ciancios. Everyone in the book is somehow connected to them. I have to admit that some of the characters have taken on a life all their own. Officer Michael Martinez is one example. I created him simply because I needed a police officer for a brief scene and then, all of a sudden, came up with a huge idea and now he is one of BOYSTOWN's main and most liked characters. I have also been intrigued by the fans' responses to certain couples in the series. For example, I never anticipated that so many people would be fans of “Kemmett” (Keith and Emmett). Fans are very vocal about what I did to that couple at the end of “Season One” and provided many ideas for how I should write

those characters in “Season Two.”

What's the best thing about being the author of BOYSTOWN? Writing the BOYSTOWN series has been one of the most fantastic experiences of my life. I have enjoyed every moment of the writing and marketing process. But what I have really enjoyed the most about the entire experience has been the interaction with the BOYSTOWN readers. BOYSTOWN fans are, quite simply, the best. I have been so touched and humbled by the outpouring of kindness and support I have received the readers since the moment the first episode hit the internet in 2013. People began to email me from all over the country, and beyond, to share with me their thoughts and ideas about the BOYSTOWN characters and story lines.

Do you have a favorite character in your series? I think every author incorporates his personal experiences into his writing. Inside & Out

Hollywood

By Billy Masters

“I

//Leslie Jordan//

recently had hernia surgery. My d!$k was so big, black and swollen, I had to fight those Kardashians off with a stick!" --Leslie Jordan. I bet with these attributes, he'd be fighting the gay boys off with a stick, too. You kids out there may not know this, but gays weren't always on television. These days, every show eventually trots out a gay character - usually a persnickety type often portrayed by Wilson Cruz, Alec Mapa, Jai Rodriguez, or Rex Lee. If I didn't know them personally, I'd swear they were the same person. The roles they play are so alarmingly similar, surely one of these talented gents could handle them all - and still have time to occasionally fill in for Rachel Maddow! Anyway, my point is that in the long history of television, gays are a relatively new addition. And much of the credit for that visibility must go to "Will & Grace". This was really the first TV show with gay leading characters that was a hit. Sure, it wasn't perfect. And some of the characters perpetuated some stereotypes. But the show also reflected a number of issues that were going on in the real world. So, who better to help inspire people to vote than

//Will & Grace Cast// Will and Grace and Jack and Karen (with a little help from Rosario). The cast reunited to film a mini-episode, and they slipped back into their roles seamlessly - with the exception of Mullally's now-red hair. While it is unlikely that the characters and the apartment would not have changed in the decade since the show went off the air, the episode picks up where the series left off - save for Jack opening the refrigerator and exclaiming, "Why does everything in there look 10 years old?" Although it sounds like they are using a really horrible laugh track, that won't keep m e f ro m p o s t i n g t h e f u l l v i d e o o n BillyMasters.com. While the thrust of the episode appears to be pro-Hillary Clinton, it is actually called #VoteHoney. Debra Messing clarified that message in a Tweet. "No/ it was for #VoteHoney. [Jack] wasn't going to vote. Karen was for Trump, W&G were for HRC. Msg was you HAVE to vote. Sitting out is not OK." OK. Time for our "Finding Prince Charming" update. And I am shocked - yes, shocked! I went on record saying that Paul Hollowell - the guy with the dead ex - would be the winner. WRONG! Paul is history. The die was cast when they were in the gym and Robert saw Paul struggling to do crunches. Robert was surprised - after all, Paul's got a hot body. Then came Paul's confession: "I basically told my trainer, 'I don't do anything with my muscles, so I don't

need something functional. I just need something that looks good.'" Truer words were never spoken. But Robert was taken aback you'd think he'd be used to being taken from the back by now! He felt all along that Paul was very reserved and a perfectionist and would like to see him more relaxed and unguarded. Well, this only makes sense. How could someone with Robert's colorful past (which is documented by numerous videos on our website) be with someone who is perfect? After the fact, Paul posted the following cryptic post online: "I didn't realize that one of the other guys was there for one reason: to win at any cost." Any guesses? Remember when I told you about the auction of Truman Capote's ashes? Well, half his ashes (hopefully the bottom half). At the time, Julien's Auctions had estimated the ashes from the estate of the late Joanne Carson would go for $4-6K. In a shocking turn of events, the ashes went for $45,000! The new owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, has pledged to take the ashes with him around the world, which is in line with what Capote asked Carson to do. "He told her he didn't want to sit on a shelf," says Julien. Someone who I think would make a kick-ass Truman Capote is our very own Leslie Jordan. For now, he'll have to settle for appearing on "American Horror Story". He turned up last

week as Cricket, a psychic from New Orleans. Needless to say, he was a welcomed presence indeed. Alas, he won't be a season regular. Leslie tells me he's only in one more episode. But it's a doozy. "Lady Gaga makes me f%&k her!" Must See TV, indeed! I just saw Leslie's latest one-man show, "Straight Outta Chattanooga". The titles of these shows are almost inconsequential since the stories change night to night depending on Leslie's mood. So if you go to see him multiple times, you will NEVER see the same show twice. At this particular sold-out event, he talked about the now-openly gay singer Ty Herndon. In details that I dare not share (but Jordan will tell you if you go to his shows), Leslie reveals that Herndon has a 12-inch penis. I'll let you chew on that for a while... When Ty's more than just a little bit country, it's definitely time to end yet another column. We ran SO long. And I had a great "Ask Billy" question to share with you - which included a celebrity nude. I guess it'll hold till next time. But maybe it will turn up early on www.BillyMasters.com - the site with no limits. If you have a question, I'm always here for you. Just send a note to Billy@BillyMasters.com and I promise to get back to you before Leslie Jordan is cast in a revival of "Tru". So, until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.

FERAL New “Queer kids” original series on Dekkoo.com By: Scott Holland “Like HBO's “Looking” or “Girls,” but set in Memphis, Tennessee.” That's how creator Morgan Jon Fox characterizes “Feral,” a Dekkoo.com original TV series that debuted October 6 exclusively on the subscription streaming service dedicated to gay men. In “Feral,” Fox (who also serves as the series writer and director), weaves a tale of survival as a group of 20-somethings learn about love, loss and friendship while living in the vibrant, artistic queer community of Memphis. The storyline revolves around the lives of Billy and Daniel, two best friends sharing a comfortably broken in bungalow in the d i ve r s e M e m p h i s n e i g h b o r h o o d of Midtown. It begins when the two are forced to kick out their third roommate, after discovering his heroin addiction. “Feral” is not only the first TV series in which thousands Middle American LGBT 20somethings can finally see themselves realistically reflected, but a welcome window through which ever yone–gay or

straight–can v i c a r i o u s l y experience what life is like for the young gay millennials in the American Heartland. It was a pleasure to sit down with one of the stars, Seth Daniel, who plays “Daniel” in “Feral.”

Seth Daniel

At what age did you start performing?

In general I started performing at 7 years old when I started taking dance classes.

What was your first professional gig?

I performed (danced) at Steven Segal's daughter's birthday and my first acting gig was in ABC's Nashville.

When did you realize that performing would be your career? To be completely honest I was born that way. My first toy was a plastic microphone.

later we ran into each other and he invited me out and we hit it off immediately. He was supposed to move back to Israel, but we fell in love and he stayed. I feel blessed to have him in my life.

What does the future hold for you?

How did you get the part in Feral?

Cool story. I moved to New York and started auditioning and I was failing financially and emotionally. I then got a call from Morgan asking if I was moving back to Memphis. I was super lonely and desperate for a reason to leave, so the call gave me my out. I went back to Memphis, auditioned and got the part.

Tell us about the show?

Feral is more a less a dramedy based on 20 something queer kids in Memphis Tennessee. They are finding out where they fit and what they believe in and what kind of impact they want to make on the world.

You have a Florida connection as you were born here. Do you ever get back down to the Sunshine state? Do you have family here?

I was in Florida last year as I was taking my boyfriend to the house I grew up in and we went all through Central Florida and visited with friends. I love Florida.

How did you meet your Boyfriend?

My boyfriend, Dustin, is Israeli and we met 2 years ago in Memphis at my favorite lounge. My b/f in the show (real name Jacob) was working in that lounge and I saw Dustin and asked him who the cute boy was, but I was too nervous to approach him. Two weeks

Now that I am living in LA, my long term goal is to win an EMMY. But right now I am auditioning a ton and I just signed an agency and I have management team, so we are all pushing and I have had a few good bookings and auditions. It's on the horizon; it is coming! I am very excited about my future as an actor. My ultimate goal is to have a late night talk show. From scary and slutty to adventurous and whimsical, Halloween night allows you to fly your freak flag and get your costume on. If you've ever been to Wicked Manors or Lincoln Road during Halloween, you know there is no costume too elaborate and no amount of gore that is off limits. With Halloween only a few weeks away, we have highlighted some of the most popular costumes we expect to see in 2016. By Troy Maillis

FierceLadies If you've ever had the fantasy of doing drag but can't seem to muster the, um, balls to do it, now is your chance! Remember, there is always strength in numbers, so if you get a group of friends to join in on the action you can't go wrong! The Sanderson Sisters or the famous quartets from The Golden Girls, Sex and the City or Mean Girls come to mind if you want to showcase how fierce you can be on Halloween.

Hollywood's Fallen Couple: Brangelina The ink hasn't settled on those divorce papers yet, so hit the town as Brangelina as an ode to Hollywood's latest fallen golden couple. If this is more of a celebration of their demise, add some blood or tattered clothes so the couple can appear dead! Brad and Angelina masks are available at amazon.com.

Captain Jack Sparrow Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is set to hit theaters in 2017, so naturally Captain Jack Sparrow will be one of the top choices this year. It is rumored that Dead Men Tell No Tales will be the final Pirates of the Caribbean flick, so show Captain Jack Sparrow some love one last time!

A Night of Terror Let's talk about what's scary right now. American Horror Story and The Purge have been pretty popular genres over the last few years. You can use the previous five seasons of AHS for inspiration, or use the current season, My Roanoke Nightmare, to create a theme for your costume.

Political Nightmare If you've been watching the news or paying attention to social media, you know what's at stake come November! With the presidential election looming on the horizon, this is the perfect opportunity to play up your political favorite. We expect to see a lot of Hillary Clintons out there and a few dead Donald Trumps. If neither candidate has your vote, dress up as any of your favorite politicians.

You Total Slut! We mentioned Mean Girls earlier, and if you're a fan of the show you remember what Halloween means. For those of you who haven't see the movie in a while let's recap: Halloween is the one day a year when you can dress up like a total slut and no one can say anything about it! You can take practically any costume and make a shirtless (or pants-less) version!

What will you be wearing for Halloween this year? Let us know on Facebook!

Fall Themed Décor By Jeffrey Welder

Bring in the new season with style and sophistication with easy-to-create, fall-themed décor. From the window boxes to the fireplace mantel, we've got the perfect ideas for your autumn inspired home from Interior Design Expert and Marketing Director Jeffrey Welder of Vant Wall Panels, the innovative and userfriendly wall décor system. Introducing Vant—the wall panels that completely transform a room in just minutes! Inspired spaces make for inspired living, and that's why we love Vänt. It's the most innovative and user-friendly wall décor system ever created. They're perfect for every room in the house from the kitchen and bedroom to the living room and office. They also look elegant in a lobby or waiting room. Vant wall panels are available in different configurations to suit any need, with endless possibilities. Go with one simple style or mix and match for a gorgeous, customized look. Choose from dozens of eyecatching colors in easy-care finishes such as: pearl, leatherette, micro suede, and metallic.

Nothing Speaks to Fall Like Apples. Real or faux apples in a beautiful pottery or clear glass bowl placed on an end table or kitchen table always sets the mood for fall. If you're out picking your own apples, grab some of the

twigs and limbs with green leaves to include in the bowl. It creates a more authentic, rustic feeling. Include Fallish Updates to Your Living and Family Room. When the temperatures drop and the feeling of fall is in the air, we naturally feel the desire to be cozy up and hibernate. Drape super soft throws and blankets to the back of your sofa and chairs. Choose fall tones such as emerald green, browns, deep blues or plum (depending on your room's color theme). This is also a great time to switch out your throw pillows for ones in velvet, wool, and other heavier fabrics. Functional meets stylish!

Hang a Festive Fall Door Wreath. Fall just begs for the addition of a seasonally themed door wreath. Switch out your succulent wreath from summer and hang a seasonal wreath made with fall foliage, burlap, and ribbon in autumn colors. Personalize your wreath by including an oversized initial or “welcome.” You can pick up wood cut-outs at your local craft store and paint yourself. Attach with crafting wire. Fall Scents Make Perfect Sense. One of the

easiest ways to make your home radiate an autumn feel is with home scents. Think warm spices gently wafting throughout your home. If you opt for candles, choose a soy based candle without synthetic fragrances. You can also mull your own in a simmer pot. Look for cinnamon, pumpkin spice, plum or mulberry, spiced apple, and more.

Replace Summer Garden Boxes with Fall Florals. Your garden and window boxes that were filled with gorgeous summer flowers are now ready for a touch of fall class. Gather armfuls of vivid leaves and berries from the garden, such as, red winterberry, burning bush, cabbage plants, English ivy and purple beautyberry, and include with your fall mums. You'll create dramatic and unexpected fall garden boxes. You can also grab bunches of pussy willow and tall grasses to place in vases for entertaining. If you don't have anything readily available, your local Michael's or other craft store will have great options for you. Fill Vases You'll 'Fall' in Love With. It doesn't take a big budget or special creativity to make your home feel one with the season. Grab some branches and sturdy, veiny (not brown and crunchy) leaves from a tree in all sizes. Spray paint lightly in a matte gold. Fill glass vases with the leaves and branches for a super easy, impressive fall centerpiece. Overlay Tables with Fall Fabrics. Another rustic, simplistic way to add fall flair is to overlay fall fabrics on your kitchen table, coffee and side tables. Pick-up some high quality fabrics

pumpkin kitsch. There's no need to hem if you use a sharp sewing scissors. Lay a single design over your table or overlay using two different fabrics for an eclectic feel.

Creative, Seasonal Wall Art. Happy Fall Ya'll! Create fun, festive wall art by using free printables from Pinterest and other sites, print in color and frame. You can frame just one for an entry way or side table or hang on the wall in a grouping. The great thing is you can easily change the prints out for winter/holiday decorating.

Toss Another Log on the Fire. Whether your fireplace is a working one or purely decorative, the incoming cool whether places focus on the fireplace as a centerpiece for fall. Rustic cabins, ski chalets, and warming up after a day in the snow all come to mind. Use this to your advantage and play up its seasonal inspiration. Fill the mantel with candles of varying sizes, add your decorative leaf/branch vases and framed fall artwork, hang a seasonal bunting, and fill the actual fireplace with stacked wood (if un-working). Now grab a cup of tea, cover up in a wool blanket, and enjoy the view of falling leaves outdoors while you're warm and cozy indoors.

Politics As Usual

Debates, Pu$$ygate, and radio silence for the LGBT community

S

HHHHH! Be really quiet. Do you hear that? It's the sound of the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates talking about LGBT Issues at their debates. Sadly, one of the few things these candidates agree on is that the LGBT community is barely worth a mention when the entire nation is watching. Meanwhile, we spend weeks hearing about how fat Miss Universe got or an entire weekend (less than 35 days from the election) talking about the #Pu$$ygate tapes, yet LGBT lives are literally dangling in the balance. Immediately following last week's ridiculous display of infantilism we called a debate, and the second sh!t show of a Presidential Debate in

St. Louis, it became quite clear that the gays aren't much of a focus this election cycle. While the Clinton Kaine campaign has championed our issues on the road in stump speeches, both Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her running mate, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine missed opportunities to bring up the dangerous rhetoric from the opposing side. Since they forgot, let me take this opportunity to remind you what Indiana Governor Mike Pence has done on our community's behalf. In the 1990's he headed up a think tank that published articles criticizing The Wall Street Journal's attendance at an LGBT Job fair as well as supporting bans on gays in the military. He

tried to divert and use money that had been earmarked for HIV/AIDS to fund conversion therapy, which has been banned in several states and is not supported by ANY medical organization, or evidence for that matter. The very same Mike Pence also signed a bill into law LAST YEAR that was virulently anti-LGBT allowing business to claim “religious freedom” as an excuse to discriminate against us. Those are but a few items in the “deplorable” (yeah, I said it!) list that show just how homophobic Governor Pence is. Much will be made of the Democratic candidates silence on behalf of the LGBT community, because, frankly, it is unacceptable. However, let's face it, last week Kaine did put major pressure on GOP Vice Presidential nominee Mike Pence all night long during the debate, forcing him to outright lie and deny Trump's very own words. Then this past Sunday, Donald Trump himself, in full #Pu$$ygate style, put on a farce of a press conference where he disgracefully displayed women who have accused Bill Clinton of dreadful acts, (the very same acts Trump brags about in the #Pu$$yGate film) like a cat who has brought home its prey to make its owner proud. Simply put, our community's plight has taken a back seat to issues that are unpleasant, ugly, but that make really good TV and are great for ratings. As of press time, the ratings for the second presidential debate aren't in but the first one broke all previous records with an estimated 84 million viewers and CNN’s poll does give the win to Clinton. Based on everything he has shown us thus far, it's easy to see that Trump has doubled, even tripled down on his bet against the LGBT community. He has promised to appoint Supreme Court Justices who will overturn marriage equality rulings, picked one of the most anti-gay people currently holding public office as his VP, as well as surrounding himself with Republican operatives like Tony Perkins who have called for the execution of LGBT

people simply because of their sexuality. While Kaine's behavior at the VP debate was questionable, his combativeness was understandable based on the sheer number of offensive statements Trump and Pence have made over the course of the campaign. Conversely, while Clinton didn't score a clearly defined victory at the second debate, she proved again that she has the temperament (just based on all the incoming she faced from Trump's juvenile attack style), the knowledge and the background to be President. She didn't have to go out and punch back every time Trump hit her, she's already in the lead, she needed to look like the President, and on that account, she won, handily.

As a community, we must continue to stand up for ourselves, especially at times when our “allies” fail to do so for us. We have to make our voices heard, so it's up to you to do your part. Call your local leaders, urge them to speak up, write, email, and tweet the Clinton Campaign and hold them accountable for their practical silence. Do the same with the Trump campaign let them know that anti-LGBT laws are unconstitutional (as if he cares about a tiny little thing like the Constitution), and make sure that your friends and family who are our allies do the same. Most importantly, VOTE. The time is now. We can't allow our lawmakers to turn back the hands of time and write us off. WE'RE HERE, WE'RE QUEER, GET USED TO IT!!

“...it's easy to see that Trump has doubled, even tripled down on his bet against the LGBT community. He has promised to appoint Supreme Court Justices who will overturn marriage equality rulings...”

SOUZA MY VIEW New Exposition at Fort Lauderdale’s House of Art

Henrique Souza

R Todd Schwing TUCAN by Henrique Souza

H

ouse of Art is pleased to present “SOUZA MY VIEW” an exhibition of outstanding art by resident artist Henrique Souza and guest artist R Todd Schwing. The exhibit will take place through October 29, 2016, at House of Art (815 NE 13th ST, Fort Lauderdale). Each of these artists have unique and fresh ways of looking at the world and translating their revelations into various types of art: photography, mixed media, clay and other materials they find necessary to elucidate and illuminate their interpretation of nature. Souza's works draw upon natural elements found in the fragile world we live in. His digital images of landscapes, flora and fauna are transformed with his diverse and masterful photo techniques. His creative vision will be displayed in mixed media, always conveying the mysterious and exotic with charm and wit. Born in Saint Louis, Missouri, R Todd Schwing is an American glass and ceramic artisan who has also been influenced by nature. For him the natural property of molten glass and the way glass refracts and distorts light help to create his striking abstract works. His design philosophy is simple and honors the biological diversity found in our natural world. He allows the natural materials he uses to “speak” to him and uses them organically and spontaneously. His latest collection is an homage to the grandest palace we could ever live in - or on; Mother Earth and all her benevolent delights. When asked “What kind of an Artist are you?” Henrique Souza's answer is... “a photographer, an

observer of beauty, and of life; a sort of voyeur”. Exceptional beauty and life is reflected everywhere when looking at Henrique's work. Conceptual photographs are intertwined in an array of organic and utilitarian elements. Frozen moments in time, an exploration of personal space both sensual and tactile, and a feeling of displacement, of being in and out of the Art Piece, are all typical reactions to his creations. Everyday items are reclaimed and incorporated in his “works”. These objects are bent, refurbished and placed in whimsical and questioning positions. Captivating to the senses, these “Photographic Sculptures” are both “Sound and Vision”. They are a wonderful and melodic seduction of the senses. R Todd Schwing's design philosophy is simple, honoring the unique American tradition of the relaxed elegance of handmade, wellcrafted pieces. Todd is dedicated to preserving the environment and nature. He is not concerned with the argument if climate change is real or not. His concern is simply, what if there is the faintest possibility we could be destroying the most magnificent home we could ever live on? He is also committed to influencing people to put down their technology and get back to human interaction as well as being creative working with their hands again. Finally many of his pieces are spiritual in nature. His hope is that people will rekindle the kindness and giving nature of religion and stop using it to promote consumerism, divisiveness and cruelty.

Pride Fort Lauderdale is Moving to the Beach!

A

t its September 20 meeting, the Fort Lauderdale City Commission approved a proposal from the Pride Fort Lauderdale board of directors to move the annual celebration to Fort Lauderdale Beach on Sunday, Feb. 26. "We are deeply appreciative of the support of Vice Mayor Dean Trantalis and the members of the commission," said Miik Martorell, president. "Broward County and South Florida are home to one of the largest and most diverse LGBT communities in the country. Our goal is to create a positive, uplifting celebration that celebrates these strengths." The one-day main event on Feb. 26 at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, 1100 Seabreeze Blvd., will include performances by nationallyrecognized talent. AďŹƒliated events are also being planned for the larger LGBT community, including women, families, transgender men and women, seniors, sports enthusiasts and people in recovery. Admission to the main event will be FREE and proceeds will fund scholarships for LGBT youth and grants to local organizations. "Our goal is to present a world class festival that will not only appeal to local residents, but

become a destination for LGBT people from around the world," Martorell said, explaining the decision to move the location and date to the region's peak tourist season. After hosting a major meeting of Pride organizers in April, Martorell and many of the volunteer board members have been traveling to and volunteering at Pride festivals across the country-at their own expense-to study best practices and further develop relationships. Since June, they have participated in more than a dozen festivals including New York City, Baltimore, San Francisco, San Diego and Dallas, as well as smaller communities such as Roanoke, Va., which has also "reinvented" itself over the past year. In coming months, they will travel to Atlanta, Las Vegas and Palm Springs. "We've learned a lot," he said. "Words cannot express the thrill that came with volunteering at New York Pride, where 1.5 million people came together for a day. These trips also oered an opportunity to promote our own event with Pride organizers across the country." The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau is a major partner for the 2017 festival. Additional sponsors, events and performing artists will be announced at PrideFortLauderdale.org.

GENRE CULTURIZATE Con Teddy y Adora

Teddy: No podemos olvidar de mencionar las otras ¨Casas¨: The House of Shade, The House of Magnifique, House of Ninja, House of Xtravaganza…

Adora: Did you see the tapes of the House of Infiniti that Angel (Camacho) Infiniti sent us? Aren't they amazing? I remember their events at Warsaw Ballroom in my early South Beach days. It was JoJo Infiniti who started the Florida chapter of the House of Infiniti here in Miami, with the blessing of Ross Infiniti out of New York. That´s when the Ballroom Scene started in Miami, in 1992. Teddy Behr: Yeah, they're so cool; I remember the vogueing and the Houses being big in the late '80's and the 90's but I hear less about them lately; but they're still going strong, and they are all over the world. It´s an international movement now which is really fun. Adora: JoJo Infiniti became the Founding Mother of the House of Infiniti Florida; they had their first House Ball, The United Houses Ball, in 1993. Power Infiniti, our Miami Star who's Tampa-based these days, is the Mother of the House of Infiniti, Florida; Power is truly fabulous and bringing a lot of cool to Tampa now. The Father of the House of Infiniti Florida Chapter is Johnny Infiniti and the Icon Grandfather isAngel Infiniti. Teddy Behr: And the other Houses we can´t

forget to mention: The House of Shade', The House of Magnifique, House of Ninja, House of Xtravaganza…I love the way it's all about STYLE because, let´s face it, style may not be everything, but it´s ALMOST everything …at least when it´s done right. Adora: Absolutely! The House Balls have competitions in such cool categories: Face, Vogue, (old way, (see Andre Mizrahi on Youtube), new way, precision, clicking, stretch, Drag Queen, Big Boyz, Runway, Bazaar, Hair Affair, Labels, …among others. I'd love to go to a ball, they got so much going on! There's an amazing tape of the Bazaar Competition. It can get pretty fierce and competitive….like uh-oh!! Teddy Behr: Angel works in HIV AIDS Awareness and prevention, and organizes 'Creating Change Workshops' through the National LGBTQ Task Force. They´ve done the Awareness Ball at the Fountainbleau Hotel, 1994, The Come Together Ball, Miami's Burning, Shadefest, and the Florida Ballroom Awards. Adora: Speaking of AWARENESSS, I was just watching the Best Dressed Infiniti Ball, '15 and it is full of amazing and original fashion ideas, and it´s all Grass-Roots: couture from the real people, kind of the way Drag inspires a lot of the new ideas in Fashion. So the Ball Scene is really a great experimental fashion, glam and style scene…because fashion and style and glam aren't for rich people, they are for everyone, especially LGBTQ people who are 'FEELIN' IT like Leiomy Maldonado, an amazing femme style voguer, who like Aviance Milan, is also teaching in Europe now.

WOODY SUCK IT UP & SHUT UP

H

ey Woody, You know those vacuum pumps a d ve r t i s e d i n m e n's magazines that promise to put at least another inch on your manhood? Are they a waste of money? --Wondering

Dear Wondering: I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong that I'm still getting pathetic letters like this. For the last time, there is no known way to make your penis bigger. Why do you think we build all those nuclear bombs? These vacuum pumps were originally devised to help men with erection problems. You stick your soft penis into a plastic cylinder and like a hamster pressing a lever for the treat; you press a lever that pumps air out of the cylinder. This creates a vacuum that draws blood into the penis and voila! Erection. Then you tie a specially designed rubber band around the base of your penis (to hold the blood in place and keep a full erection). The boys in the vacuum pump industry got a little ahead of themselves and decided they could repackage it as a way of making you a bigger man. Technically,

they're right—the pumps do make your penis bigger. In the same way your mouth can make mine bigger. Hey, Woody! I slept with my best friend's boyfriend. It was a drunken mistake and I have no desire to repeat it. I want to tell him but I'm afraid of losing his friendship. What should I do? --- Honest Indian Dear Indian: Most professionals would recommend that you acknowledge your dirty deed and pay the price, even if it means losing your best friend. Lucky for you, I'm not a professional. I say silence is golden. Act like you're in Ft. Knox. Honesty is an incredibly over-rated gesture in situations like this. If any good could come out of your best friend knowing, I'd say do it. Unloading your guilt doesn't qualify as a self-less, beneficial act. It's like taking a dump in his living room. Sure, you'll feel unburdened but what's he supposed to do with a hot, steaming load of sh!t on his rug? I say keep your mouth shut, your fly zipped and acknowledge a terrible mistake you resolve never to repeat.

WILD WEEKEND, PART 1

See what happens when desire and sexual competition fuel a 'Wild Weekend' of hot hookups and uninhibited action! Falcon Studios Group, America's Adult Male Film Company, presents the two-part Falcon Studios summer blockbuster 'Wild Weekend.' Hunky Falcon guys meet up in the Bay Area for a 'Wild Weekend' enjoying San Francisco gay pride, summer weather, and uninhibited fun! Award-winning director Tony Dimarco gives you a front row seat and an up-close-and-personal view of all the action in this Falcon movie event. Ready for a sexual adventure? Get onboard with this international group of studs who've arrived in California ready to let loose, celebrate their sexuality and share it with each other. The all-star cast of 'Wild Weekend, Part 1' is headlined by Falcon ATeam Exclusives Ryan Rose and JJ Knight, plus fan favorites Wesley Woods, Josh Conners, Ken Rodeo, Brute, Dustin Holloway, Jason Maddox, and Paul Canon. In 'Wild Weekend, Part 1,' world-famous underwear model and all-American jock Ryan Rose has some impromptu San Francisco adventures with Jason Maddox on the Embarcadero before meeting up with his buddies and heading north to the river. At

the vacation house, Euro studs Ken Rodeo and Brute ignite controversy when they say that American guys aren't as sexually liberated as Europeans. When Ken challenges American Wesley Woods to hook up on the first night, Wesley is taken aback at first, but then goes about proving him wrong by giving Ken exactly what he wants. The next morning, Brute propositions Ryan Rose in the kitchen and gives the all-American stud a wake-up call. Dustin Holloway and Paul Cannon have been making eyes at each other all weekend, and they finally hook up in the hot tub, leading to an incredible, explosion. Later that night, the crew hits the local gay bar, and JJ Knight has some spontaneous action with anonymous hunk Josh Conners. See what happens when desire and sexual competition fuel a 'Wild Weekend' of hot hookups and uninhibited action! "As the new President of Falcon Studios, I wanted our first film to celebrate the studios' Bay Area roots. For so many of us who came of age watching Falcon movies, San Francisco was more than a backdrop, it was a central character. A mythic place where gay sexuality was embraced, and where anything could happen," states Falcon

Studios Group president, Tim Valenti. "What better way to summon that feeling then to set our summer blockbuster in the Bay over Pride weekend, a time when handsome men from all over the world arrive for the type of wild weekend that the rest of the country can only dream about." 'Wild Weekend, Part 1' has a runtime of 1:45:58 and the Suggested Retail Price is $34.99. Fans can now purchase the DVD or download scenes on the Falcon Studios Group Store. Falcon Studios Group, recently released the conclusion of the two-part summer blockbuster 'Wild Weekend.' In this second installment, award-winning director Tony Dimarco brings the story to its epic conclusion. Celebrating San Francisco Gay Pride, these horny, hunky Falcon guys let loose and get wild. In 'Wild Weekend, Part 2,' the action heats up even more when the guys return to San Francisco from their Russian River retreat. Pride is in full swing, and everybody is horny! JJ Knight starts his day by enjoying Ken Rodeo's throat and booty. Finishing his morning run, world-famous underwear model Ryan Rose comes back to shower and finds JJ toweling off. JJ and Ryan reminisce about "the old days" when they were college

roommates, but they're interrupted by JJ's roommate, Wesley Woods. Out at the Pride Parade, all the guys take off in different directions. Paul Canon hits it off with hottie Colton Grey on the street, and they beat it back to the hotel room to go all the way. JJ goes to Beaux in the Castro and instantly gets lucky with fellow club-goer Kyler Ash: they take over a bathroom stall and JJ pumps Kyler in unison with the rhythm of the dance floor. Wesley sneaks a peek over the stall wall and gets a glimpse of JJ having a good time. Heading back out onto the streets of the Castro, Wesley spontaneously meets up with Ryan Rose. Wesley has been crushing on Ryan all weekend, but Ryan seemed more interested in JJ's European cousin. This time, something clicks, and Ryan and Wesley head back to the house for explosive sex! It's the perfect ending to their 'Wild Weekend' of hot hookups and uninhibited action! “'Wild Weekend' is full of talented guys who get to show off their acting chops!” states award-winning director Tony Dimarco. “Wesley Woods' character is the protagonist everyone can relate to: he's a bit socially awkward, and in Part 1 his obvious interest in Ryan Rose's character goes unreturned. But in Part 2, we get to see Wesley embrace his confidence in the moment and go for what he wants, and the result is truly spectacular!” ‘Wild Weekend, Part 2 has a runtime of 1:28:57 and the Suggested Retail Price is $34.99. Fans can now purchase the DVD or download scenes on the Falcon Studios Group Store.
