Did you consider not coming back to All Stars?
There was no choice. I know there are a lot of deciding factors for some queens but I had to do it.
How did you prepare differently for all stars than you did the first time on the show?
In season 5, I was just trying to go there and survive. This time I really wanted to display a huge range of silhouettes and I wanted to tell stories with my looks. All of the All Stars have been doing drag so much since our seasons that we were able to hone our craft. This is the best stage to do drag on.
If you couldn't win, who would you have wanted to and why?
I wouldn't want anyone else to win….maybe Trixie. (Authors note: when I reminded Alaska that Trixie wasn't on All Stars, she responded with: “Exactly”).
How hard was it to keep the secret?
Well I found out not that much before you found out. The hard part was not telling anyone that I made the top. I got really good at lying.
What's the first thing you are going to do with the $100,000? I want to buy a 100,000 slices of pizza.

week ago Monday, Village Pub presented their annual Turnabout – Alex In Wonderland; The Psychedelic Nightmare. This was the final night of celebration of their 4th Anniversary week. Tuesday was the monthly Mack Mixer, this month taking place at Thirteen on Wilton Drive. This Mixer also celebrated Co-owner of Mack Planet, Danny's Birthday and as usual was busy. On Wednesday, Alibi hosted a Duets Party/fundraiser benefiting the Humane Society. Saturday night some of the Hotspots staff headed down to South Beach and hit Club Boi Saturdays downstairs at Score and said hello to our friend, DJ Gavin T. Afterwards we headed upstairs to see Score's Alice in Wonderland Party featuring DJ/Producer Aron from Tel Aviv. We ended our night at Twist, where we always run into friends. Starting Thursday through Sunday evening was the 2nd and final weekend of the MiFo Fort Lauderdale Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.

ogo announced it has greenlit a second season for “Finding Prince Charming,” their new hit reality dating competition series that premiered in September. The announcement comes just two weeks after one of the highest rated episodes to date which drew a 22% increase in overall viewers from its season average and up 9% above the week prior. Season to date and across all platforms, “Finding Prince Charming” has reached 3.4 million plus viewers. The success of “Finding Prince Charming” and “RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars” has also led Logo to its highest rated Thursday night in network history. The first-of-its-kind journey to find love is hosted by Lance Bass and features interior designer, Robert Sepulveda Jr. in the first season as the sought-after prince charming who is searching for the man of his dreams. Sepulveda's 13 charming suitors, all housed together, are competing to stand out from the crowd and capture a moment of intimate connection, romance and, perhaps, true love. One by one, the suitors are eliminated until Prince Charming chooses one ideal man to sweep him off of his feet and win his heart. The current season will come to a dramatic conclusion on Thursday, November 3rd at 9pm EST when Robert and the remaining suitors head to a romantic destination where he is faced with his toughest decision yet. Each year, along with the help of Equality Forum and LGBTHistoryMonth.com, Hotspots celebrates LGBT History Month by honoring members of the community who are advancing our rights, fighting for visibility, and who help move us forward towards a life where everyone feels free to live life as who they really are. This week, we honor Tammy Smith, the first out lesbian General in the U.S. Army and David Bowie, one of the most famous musicians of the 20th century.
Tammy Smith Born 1963
ammy Smith is the first out lesbian general in the U.S. Army. She was named a brigadier general in 2012 and formally promoted during a ceremony at the Women’s Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. She became the commanding general of the 98th Training Division. Born in Oakland, Oregon, Smith began her military career when she received a fouryear Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarship. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 1986 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. During her 30-year military career, Smith has served as a platoon leader in Panama, a logistic support detachment commander in Costa Rica and a company commander in South Carolina. She was stationed in Afghanistan, where she was chief of Army Reserve affairs during Operation Enduring Freedom. Smith holds a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix and received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Lincoln University. She has been decorated
with numerous medals and awards and is in the ROTC’s Hall of Fame. Smith married Tracey Hepner in 2012. The ceremony, held at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, was officiated by a military chaplain just two years after same-sex marriage was legalized in the nation’s capital. “For me it’s really been transitional,” Smith said in an interview, “to go from being 100 percent in the closet to being globally gay.” She continued, “She [Tracey] has been so wonderful in helping me cut loose the shackles of those 26 years in the military, of having to hide a part of myself. I don’t live a double life anymore.” Hepner founded the Military Partners and Families Coalition, a national military advocacy organization that provides support, education and resources for LGBT military members and their families. Smith has become active in LGBT events and advocacy and has been honored by many LGBT organizations and publications. She served as grand marshal of the 2013 Gay Pride Parade in Washington.
David Bowie
January 8, 1947- January 10, 2016 orn David Robert Jones in London, David Bowie was a singer, songwriter, actor and record producer. He is among the best-selling recording artists in the world. Bowie first splashed onto the music charts in 1969 with “Space Oddity.” The song became one of his best known and among three of his recordings to be included in The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll. Bowie went on to experiment with a variety of musical styles that came to define him as an innovator. With his first album, “The Man Who Sold the World,” Bowie helped usher in the era of glam rock, a style known for its androgynous-looking performers, make-up and flamboyant costumes. Bowie followed his debut with a string of musical successes, notably “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.” The 1972 concept album featured his gender-bending alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust, an alien rock star. The same year, in an interview with Melody Maker magazine, Bowie came out as gay. He later told Playboy he was bisexual. In 1976 Bowie starred in “The Man Who Fell to Earth,” the first of his many film roles. He experimented with highly theatrical live shows and narrated “Peter and the Wolf”
with the Philadelphia Orchestra—the first of his many children’s projects. He made his Broadway debut in “The Elephant Man.” In addition to music, film and theater, Bowie was also an accomplished artist whose work was shown at international galleries. Bowie produced important albums for Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, and Mott the Hoople, and collaborated with artists such as John Lennon, the band Queen, and Mick Jagger, with whom he had been romantically linked. In 1993 he told Rolling Stone magazine that declaring his bisexuality was “the biggest mistake” he ever made. He would later say he had “no problem with people knowing I was bisexual. But I had no inclination to hold any banners nor be a representative of any group of people.” In 1996 Bowie was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and became the first musician to release a song for download. His 30th and final studio album, “Blackstar,” was released just two days before he died of cancer. Bowie was married twice to women, the second time to the model Iman (his widow). He was the father of a son and a daughter.

or over 16 years, I've walked the hallowed hallways of AmericanAirlines Arena in a cloud of grateful bliss. It's not because of the three Miami HEAT championship rings I've earned during my tenure (although bling is clearly a huge plus); it's not because of the funny, creative and gifted people with whom I work (although they absolutely make the job festive as hell); nor is it because of our unique culture, which is hard to describe, but includes everything from 3:00 p.m. musical jamming sessions in the center of our offices to a “Best Hair Day Award” bestowed quarterly upon the man or woman with the sexiest tresses. It's because I'm an openly lesbian woman working for a men's professional basketball team—and no one cares. And when I say no one cares, I mean being an out lesbian in my workplace is a non-issue in all the ways that don't matter and a valuable asset in all the ways that do. I'm exceedingly lucky, spoiled even. There are far more important things for the franchise to worry about like what to do in the face of the worst mass shooting in United States history. One of our own, an Arena staffer, was among the survivors of the Pulse massacre. That fact made this tragedy personal. For me. For us.
And we of the HEAT family brand, who prize compassion and celebrate diversity, decided to act. We wrote a check to help our employee recover. We sent the team to Orlando
to visit survivors, doctors, nurses, police and first responders. We began planning a free dance party for the LGBTQ community, friends of the LGBTQ community and anyone who believes success is the best revenge. It was my colleague, a straight, happily married, father of two, who named our dance party “HEAT Loud and Proud,” not only as an affirmation of the cause, but because that's how
we do: noise and nerve; buzz and bravado. We're the Miami 'effing HEAT and we don't back down. This is nothing new, in case you were wondering. We've steadily courted the LGBTQ community from as far back as the year 2000, when I first joined the HEAT. In those days, we still owned the WNBA's Miami SOL. My heart swelled with sheer joy to see hundreds of LGBTQ fans and families—many of them my friends and acquaintances—at the Arena enjoying themselves in a supportive environment. They embraced us and we embraced them. In the intervening years, the HEAT and the AmericanAirlines Arena have worked behind the scenes to lend support and resources, to offer expertise and insight and most recently, to champion legislative efforts that seek to protect the LGBTQ community. In other words, we've got your back. Now, it's your turn, y'all. iños Lindos or Beautiful Boys by Fernando Azpurua arrives in Miami for its debut under the direction of César Sierra. The play features the acting of Willy Martin, Gianluca Mitranoand Luis Mayer. It will open on October 22 and will play every Saturday at 10:30 pm. Each week, the play, along with the sounds of DJ Naim Zarzour will take over the Catarsis Room at the Trail Theatre (3715 SW 8th St, Miami), making this a true theatrical party event. The ghost of a stormy relationship returns to life for David, ending the apparent stability he thought he had in life. A gay love story is at the heart of this work, which also touches on themes that interest youngsters, and older people alike. They include s e l f- a c c e p tance, prejudice, the complications of living in an unsure society, low levels of education, worry about economic success, and many others. This show definitely has something for everyone. Niños Lindos will immerse spectators
in an atmosphere of constant confrontation with themselves, with their surroundings. Brining in universal themes like selflove, bravery, and being stereotypically ¨straight¨ and everything else that can be found in a tightly packed city are intermingled on stage for all to see. This is not a stereotypical gay play, even though it´s characters do fit the mold of how many gay men are seen or see themselves. Niños Lindos is a play about a complicated love story, marked by a ba n d o n m e n t and the tragic impossibility of being with the one that you love, and the limits that people´s obsessions. The Trail Theatre opened in 2016 and produces multiple productions that are presented in Spanish. If an "Entertainment Tonight" anchor was going to bring down a presidency, I would have thought it would have been Mary Hart or John Tesh! Comments Trump made to Billy Bush on a hot mike way back in 2005 somehow went public. Regarding my dear O'Dell, he said, "I did try and f$#k her. She was married. I moved on her very heavily...I moved on her like a b&%$h, but I couldn't get there and she was married. And all of a sudden I see her and she's got the big, phony tits. She's totally changed her look." All the while, Billy Bush is giggling like a

In fact, it sounds like Trump gets off easily, but that's another story! But that's not the most shocking story of the week from a Republican. That honor must go to Mike Yenni, a lieutenant with the US Navy
Reserves and Jefferson Parish President. Last week, it was revealed that the conservative Louisianan had been sexting a 17-year-old boy. Two years ago, when Yenni was mayor of the city of Kenner, he met the boy at a Catholic high school graduation lunch. At least Trump waits till they're out of their teens! Somehow, the two exchanged phone numbers - as I suppose Catholic high school boys often do with 40-year-old politicians. Yenni then tracked the boy down to his place of employment - a mall food court! The two spent some private time making out in the mall bathroom, where Yenni presented the boy with some designer underwear. Yenni then sent a text asking if the boy had worn the underwear - and asked to see a photo of him modeling them! Eventually, Yenni proposes a sexual encounter. Then he suggests a threeway with an older boy. The now-19-year-old boy claims that they never had sex. Even if they did, it would not have been illegal since the age of consent is 17 in Louisiana. The boy told Yenni when they started texting that he was 17. Yenni's response? "I know the laws." Reports now claim that Yenni sexted with at least eight males on parish-funded phones. Under pressure from his constituents, he is encouraging a full investigation and is refusing to step down...for now. John Stamos recently made his debut on "Scream Queens". He grabbed our attention with a slo-mo shower scene in the first episode. The following week, he was once again in the shower, but this time totally nude

or the past 10 years, one of the largest parties in Broward County, Wicked Manors, has taken over Wilton Drive as tens of thousands of costume clad revelers celebrate with ghosts and ghouls and everything in between. This year's Wicked Manors theme is “Political Nightmare, Scandals, Secrets, and Sins� which should be an easy category and totally apropos considering the fact that we seem to be living in a political nightmare as our country races toward electing one of the least popular people to ever vie for the role. I am sure there will be more stained blue dresses than you can shake a stick at, and more than a few homages to #Pu$$ygate. Those are easy though, it's exciting to think of all the creative ways that people can turn our leader's political scandals into amazing costumes, and as you know, no one does Halloween like the gays do. Just like in years past, Wilton Drive will be closed off between 1 p.m. on Halloween and 2 a.m. the next morning. Trick or treating will take place on the Drive starting at 5pm and a kid's costume contest will take place at 7:30pm. Don´t Let Halloween Trick You Into Eating Too Many Treats Dentist´s weigh in on candy´s effect on your teeth Quick question- what is your favorite Halloween candy? Chances are you didn’t have to think about your answer very long. No matter if you celebrate Halloween with kids or not, you are likely to over indulge in candy in the next couple weeks. According to Statistic Brain (statisticbrain.com) the average American spends $27.05 for Halloween candy, bringing the grand total for Halloween candy spending in the U.S. JUST FOR
HALLOWEEN to $2,330,000,000. That’s two BILLION dollars on sweet stuff, a staggering number. We thought we would ask local dentists about how all that sugar effects our teeth. Should we worry? Brush a few extra times? Avoid candy all together? Michael P. Constabile, DMD, PA is an associate with Dental Associates of Boca Raton at Wilton Manors (2404 Wilton Drive) and Max Zaslasky, DMD both let us know what you need to worry about.
Here is what we asked: Since we know everyone will be eating a lot of candy for Halloween, what should we do to combat that? What can we do to help our teeth after we eat all that candy? Dr. Michael Constabile: Who is this Candy everyone is after? He sounds like quick trick, more than a life-long treat but busy. Maybe try Grindr or Scruff instead and see who else is available and maybe not so into this molar mashing fetish.
Seriously though, the casual confectionary once and a while isn’t the end of your pearly whites, it’s when one or two succulent sweets become a more regular occurrence that it becomes a problem. Teeth don’t typically decay based on one lone day of the year and a little overindulgence. Regardless of this, the best medicine is always preventative medicine and in this case it’s a simple matter of limiting sugary food intake and then twice daily brushing with your favorite fluoride toothpaste, flossing, and Dr. Michael Constabile using a fluoride mouth wash too to help re-mineralize and bolster those bicuspids. Halloween is a fantastic holiday, just remember to exercise a little moderation, and of course, you can always contact our office for any other dental tricks and treats. Dr. Max Zaslavsky The biggest benefit you can do if you plan on eating more candy than the usual this holiday season, is to eat it with your lunch or dinner. Since you will be having an
increase in saliva, and saliva helps prevent decay, this is the best time to splurge. Also, if you can avoid stickier candies which tend to linger to the crevices of the teeth, that would be most ideal. The stickier the candy, the harder it is to remove from the enamel, and the better the chance of creating a cavity. Lastly, drink more water, preferably fluoridated. Fluoride helps prevent cavities, so if you are going to splurge this holiday season, the above mentioned should help you avoid seeing the dentist more often than you want. So guys, go out and have some fun this Halloween season, after all, it is Gay Christmas. But, make sure you take care of your teeth. Brush them, don’t eat too much candy and rinse with mouthwash like the doctor ordered. Don’t forget the importance of regular checkups with the dentist. These caves are definitely recommended for any ecotourists out there. The San Cosme and Damian Dunes are mountains of sand that are around 90 feet tall and are the remnants of Mount Ybycuí. They are found smack dab in the center of Lake Yacyretá which is formed by the
waters of the Paraná River. It is possible to get to this site from a boat that takes about an hour´s journey. Finally, we end up at Monday Falls, found in the district of President Franco, in the department of Alto Paraná. This natural park is made up of an area of nine hectares. After Usina de Itaipú and the multinational hydro electrical complex, the Monday Falls are one of the principal tourist destinations in the country.
