What is TRUVADA for PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis)? TRUVADA is a prescription medicine that can be used for PrEP to help reduce the risk of getting HIV-1 infection when used together with safer sex practices. This use is only for adults who are at high risk of getting HIV-1 through sex. This includes HIV-negative men who have sex with men and who are at high risk of getting infected with HIV-1 through sex, and male-female sex partners when one partner has HIV-1 infection and the other does not. Ask your healthcare provider if you have questions about how to prevent getting HIV-1. Always practice safer sex and use condoms to lower the chance of sexual contact with body fluids. Never reuse or share needles or other items that have body fluids on them.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION What is the most important information I should know about TRUVADA for PrEP?
Before taking TRUVADA for PrEP to reduce your risk of getting HIV-1 infection: u You must be HIV-negative. You must get tested to make sure that you do not already have HIV-1 infection. Do not take TRUVADA for PrEP to reduce the risk of getting HIV-1 unless you are confirmed to be HIV-negative. u Many HIV-1 tests can miss HIV-1 infection in a person who has recently become infected. If you have flu-like symptoms, you could have recently become infected with HIV-1. Tell your healthcare provider if you had a flu-like illness within the last month before starting TRUVADA for PrEP or at any time while taking TRUVADA for PrEP. Symptoms of new HIV-1 infection include tiredness, fever, joint or muscle aches, headache, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, night sweats, and/or enlarged lymph nodes in the neck or groin. While taking TRUVADA for PrEP to reduce your risk of getting HIV-1 infection: u You must continue using safer sex practices. Just taking TRUVADA for PrEP may not keep you from getting HIV-1. u You must stay HIV-negative to keep taking TRUVADA for PrEP. u To further help reduce your risk of getting HIV-1: • Know your HIV-1 status and the HIV-1 status of your partners. • Get tested for HIV-1 at least every 3 months or when your healthcare provider tells you. • Get tested for other sexually transmitted infections. Other infections make it easier for HIV-1 to infect you. • Get information and support to help reduce risky sexual behavior. • Have fewer sex partners. • Do not miss any doses of TRUVADA. Missing doses may increase your risk of getting HIV-1 infection. • If you think you were exposed to HIV-1, tell your healthcare provider right away. u If you do become HIV-1 positive, you need more medicine than TRUVADA alone to treat HIV-1. TRUVADA by itself is not a complete treatment for HIV-1. If you have HIV-1 and take only TRUVADA, your HIV-1 may become harder to treat over time.
TRUVADA can cause serious side effects:
u Too much lactic acid in your blood (lactic acidosis),
which is a serious medical emergency. Symptoms of lactic acidosis include weakness or being more tired than usual, unusual muscle pain, being short of breath or fast breathing, nausea, vomiting, stomach-area pain, cold or blue hands and feet, feeling dizzy or lightheaded, and/or fast or abnormal heartbeats. u Serious liver problems. Your liver may become large and tender, and you may develop fat in your liver. Symptoms of liver problems include your skin or the white part of your eyes turns yellow, dark “tea-colored” urine, light-colored stools, loss of appetite for several days or longer, nausea, and/or stomach-area pain. u You may be more likely to get lactic acidosis or serious liver problems if you are female, very overweight (obese), or have been taking TRUVADA for a long time. In some cases, these serious conditions have led to death. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of these conditions. u Worsening of hepatitis B (HBV) infection. If you also have HBV and take TRUVADA, your hepatitis may become worse if you stop taking TRUVADA. Do not stop taking TRUVADA without first talking to your healthcare provider. If your healthcare provider tells you to stop taking TRUVADA, they will need to watch you closely for several months to monitor your health. TRUVADA is not approved for the treatment of HBV.
Who should not take TRUVADA for PrEP?
Do not take TRUVADA for PrEP if you already have HIV-1 infection or if you do not know your HIV-1 status. If you are HIV-1 positive, you need to take other medicines with TRUVADA to treat HIV-1. TRUVADA by itself is not a complete treatment for HIV-1. If you have HIV-1 and take only TRUVADA, your HIV-1 may become harder to treat over time. Do not take TRUVADA for PrEP if you also take lamivudine (Epivir-HBV) or adefovir (HEPSERA).
What are the other possible side effects of TRUVADA for PrEP? Serious side effects of TRUVADA may also include:
u Kidney problems, including kidney failure. Your healthcare
provider may do blood tests to check your kidneys before and during treatment with TRUVADA for PrEP. If you develop kidney problems, your healthcare provider may tell you to stop taking TRUVADA for PrEP. u Bone problems, including bone pain or bones getting soft or thin, may lead to fractures. Your healthcare provider may do tests to check your bones. u Changes in body fat, which can happen in people taking TRUVADA or medicines like TRUVADA. Common side effects in people taking TRUVADA for PrEP are stomach-area (abdomen) pain, headache, and decreased weight. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effects that bother you or do not go away.
What should I tell my healthcare provider before taking TRUVADA for PrEP? u All your health problems. Be sure to tell your healthcare
provider if you have or have had any kidney, bone, or liver problems, including hepatitis virus infection.
Please see Important Facts about TRUVADA for PrEP including important warnings on the following pages.
u If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not
known if TRUVADA can harm your unborn baby. If you become pregnant while taking TRUVADA for PrEP, talk to your healthcare provider to decide if you should keep taking TRUVADA for PrEP. Pregnancy Registry: A pregnancy registry collects information about your health and the health of your baby. There is a pregnancy registry for women who take medicines to prevent HIV-1 during pregnancy. For more information about the registry and how it works, talk to your healthcare provider. u If you are breastfeeding (nursing) or plan to breastfeed. Do not breastfeed. The medicines in TRUVADA can pass to your baby in breast milk. If you become HIV-1 positive, HIV-1 can be passed to the baby in breast milk.
u All the medicines you take, including prescription and over-
the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. TRUVADA may interact with other medicines. Keep a list of all your medicines and show it to your healthcare provider and pharmacist when you get a new medicine. u If you take certain other medicines with TRUVADA for PrEP, your healthcare provider may need to check you more often or change your dose. These medicines include ledipasvir with sofosbuvir (HARVONI). You are encouraged to report negative side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA. Visit www.FDA.gov/medwatch, or call 1-800-FDA-1088.

Inside & Out
Hollywood
By Billy Masters
//Zac Efron//
“W
hy is it so hard to find a sexy, charismatic, hunky, non-girlie Link?" – A notable "Hairspray" alum, after seeing the live telecast. We have two filmed versions of this show where Link oozes all the raw masculinity of a young Tatum O'Neal. Strike that - Tatum had more testosterone than Zac Efron and Garrett Clayton combined. Some people felt it was too soon to do a new version of "Hairspray" - after all, the John Travolta film was made in 2007. But this "Live" version was much closer to the Broadway musical, due in no small part to the extraordinary talents of the show's original choreographer, Jerry Mitchell. Since he was not involved in the film version, his vision went unseen...until now. When he introduced me to Maddie Baillio after the live telecast, he said, "Billy's known every great Tracy" - and, I daresay, some of the lesser ones! I'd put Maddie near the top (nobody can touch my Marissa). Her vocals were incredible, and her acting really touched me. I would have liked to have seen more exuberance and joy, but when your first major role is carrying a three-hour live television event, you've got a lot on your plate! There was plenty of joy on the screen once the two original Tracy's appeared. Ricki Lake and
//Kristin Chenoweth// Marissa Jaret Winokur showed up in "Welcome To The '60s" as the two lead Hefty Hideaway girls. I wondered where Nikki Blonsky was, the Tracy from the musical film. All anyone would say was a "financial issue" kept her away. I've always loved The Dynamites - the girl group that comes to life from a poster. The live telecast reunited the original Broadway trio: Kamilah Marshall, Shayna Steele, and Judine Richàrd Somerville. And I'm sure most of you caught the sly nods to the "Hairspray" history, most notably the names of storefronts. I particularly liked Divine Pet Food with the flashing neon pink flamingo. Of course, this production immortalized the original musical Edna of Harvey Fierstein. In many ways, Jennifer Hudson was miscast - she may have been blond and beautiful, but the only thing big about her is her voice...and her titties! She sang the role like nobody's business, so I got past her looking like Seaweed's sister. And how perfect was Kristin Chenoweth as Velma? Her arch, sardonic, laconic portrayal was impeccable. As Andrea Martin proved, there are no small roles. Every line reading had me howling. When she rolled over the bed to get to the window, I almost burst. She's a national treasure. Garrett Clayton sang and danced the role great. But can we please get back to the archetype set by the unsurpassed Matthew Morrison, Broadway's
original Link? Now, THAT was sex on a stick! And whose bright idea was it to have Darren Criss take us out of the show at every commercial? Wrong! There were some technical issues. Some were on the fly - like the giant Ultra Clutch can that rolled out with the door open. Chenoweth altered her lines asking what was in there, while trying gallantly to close the door with her foot (the West Coast didn't see this since the dress rehearsal footage was dropped in). Many scenes were badly lit, and singers often sang in the dark - most notably while Tracy's walking to school during "Good Morning Baltimore". I know this was live, but there must be some lights on the Universal backlot. At least give Tracy a flashlight! Ultimately, none of that mattered. The real star of the show was the show itself. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman wrote a musical that is as tuneful as it is relevant. It sounded great and proved that, as always, you can't stop the beat. Time for Billy's Holiday Gift Giving Suggestions,. I love buying people calendars. Everyone needs one and nobody buys them for themselves. Our first choice is new to this column. The Men of the Vet School calendar features the hunky frat boys from Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine. If seeing a strapping shirtless stud carrying a goat doesn't turn you on, you're dead on the inside. You can find them on Etsy.com.
//Jennifer Hudson//
One of our perennials is the Warwick Rowers. The ripped rowers not only pose nude, but they raise money for Sport Allies, a group which fights homophobia in sports. "We're here with our boats, our oars and no clothes to show that your true identity is the best way to be." You might get a splinter on WarwickRowers.org. I'm always amused by the annual calendar featuring erotic photos of Orthodox priests. Yes, hot nude (and semi-nude) priests! Now in its fifth year, the Romanian organizers have revealed that the models are not "necessarily" priests. I should have been tipped off by the new anagram they're using - PILF stands for "priests I'd like to fuck". The group says the calendar is "an artistic effort to creatively protest homophobia in the Orthodox Church". Have I mentioned these guys are HOT? Check out Orthodox-Calendar.com. When "Hairspray" is opening with "Good Evening Baltimore", it's time to end yet another column. With the holidays upon us, it's the perfect time to check out www.BillyMasters.com, the site that always delivers gay apparel. If you have a question for yours truly, drop a note to Billy@BillyMasters.com and I promise to get back to you before I hook up with a Romanian priest! So, until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.

By Troy Maillis
Let's drink to that! Whether it's your company's holiday party, dinner with your friends or relatives, or New Year's Eve debauchery, alcohol is generally part of the festivities throughout December. Sometimes a little drink is exactly what you need to wind down, enjoy the moment and deal with all of the craziness that is bound to happen during the holidays. While sugar-free Red Bull & Kettle One or a simple glass of white wine are popular go-to libations during a night out, try experimenting with different ingredients this season. We've chosen six recipes from our friends over at the Food Network that are sure to tickle your taste buds and also leave you with a nice buzz.
1: Candy Cane Cocktail (courtesy Sandra Lee) Ingredients: 1 shot vanilla rum, 1 shot white chocolate liqueur (recommended: Godiva), 1 shot peppermint schnapps, Candy cane, garnish. Directions: Add all liquid ingredients to cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into martini glass. Garnish with candy cane.
2: Hot Buttered Rum (courtesy Rachael Ray) Ingredients: 2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar, 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature, 1/4 cup honey, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves, Pinch salt, 3/4 cup spiced rum, 2 cups boiling water, 4 sticks cinnamon, for garnish. Directions: Using an electric mixer, beat the brown sugar, butter, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl until blended and smooth. Transfer the mixture to a 4-cup (or larger) measuring cup. Add the rum and then 2 cups of boiling water.
3: Pomegranate Sangria (courtesy Bobby Flay) Ingredients: 1 bottle fruity red wine, 2 cups pomegranate juice, 1/2 cup brandy, 1/2 cup Triple Sec, 1/4 cup simple syrup (equal amounts sugar and water, heated until sugar dissolves, cooled), 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds, 1 large orange, halved and thinly sliced, 1 green apple, cored, halved and thinly sliced, 1 cup red grapes, sliced in ½. Directions: Combine all ingredients in a pitcher, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to 48 hours before serving. Serve over ice.
4: Champagne Cocktail (courtesy Bobby Flay) Ingredients: 4 sugar cubes, 1 bottle Angostura bitters, 1 bottle Champagne, very cold, Lemon twists, for garnish, optional. Directions: Start off by taking a single sugar cube, and while holding it over the opening of a bottle of Angostura bitters, invert the bottle so that some bitters soaks directly into the sugar. Drop the cube into the bottom of a chilled Champagne flute, and then fill the glass with Champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist, if desired.
5: Ginger Snap (courtesy Jill Davie) Ingredients: 1 oz. ginger beer, Ice, 1 tsp. ginger juice, 1 1/2 oz. dark rum, 1 tsp. cinnamon schnapps, Pinch of ground cloves, 1 egg white, Cinnamon stick, Crystallized ginger square, Finely ground gingerbread cookie. Directions: Pour enough ginger beer into a saucer to cover and dip a martini glass into the saucer to coat the rim. Dip into a saucer with ground cookie. Scoop ice into shaker. Pour ginger juice, rum and cinnamon schnapps into a shaker. Add a pinch of ground cloves. Separate an egg and add egg white to shaker. Shake vigorously for at least 20 seconds until drink is frothy and foamy. The longer you shake, the foamier the drink. Add ginger beer and stir slightly. Pour into glass.
6: Mexicocoa (courtesy Jill Davie) Ingredients: 1 tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tsp. cinnamon, Pinch of chili powder, Pinch of cayenne pepper, 3/4 cup almond milk (can substitute Irish Creme, coffee-flavored liqueur or milk), Splash of agave nectar (can substitute honey or maple syrup), 1 oz. Silver tequila, Paprika, Cinnamon stick. Directions: In a saucepan over low heat add the cocoa powder, cinnamon, chili powder and cayenne pepper. Toast until spices begin to release their aromas, about a couple of minutes. Using a small whisk or wooden spoon, slowly incorporate the almond milk. Raise the temperature to medium-high and bring to a slow simmer. Stir in the agave nectar and remove from the heat. Rim a mug by dipping into a saucer of water, blotting and dipping into saucer of paprika. Pour in tequila. Add hot cocoa mixture

RUMORS Nicole Halliwell’s Drink N’ Drag Sundays presents “Hairspray”

By Justin Lavelle
As the holiday shopping season ramps up, it's the ideal time to revisit the important steps consumers should take to protect themselves against big company scams and hacks. Below you'll find a few critical steps to take to help protect yourself from becoming one of the millions of people affected annually by fraud: Ignore Unknown Emails.
This actually sounds easier than it is. Why? Hackers will use big names like PayPal and eBay in the “sent from” section of emails. If you open the email and aren't sure of its validity, just click on the name
in the “sent from” box to view the actual email address. If you don't recognize the sender, your best bet is to not open the email period.
Change Passwords to Accounts, Email & Social Media Monthly. Make a point of changing your passwords monthly. When you do, use a variation of letters, numbers and symbols to make it strong and difficult to hack. Do not use the same password for all your accounts! Protect Your Computer. Install a firewall on your computer in the form of software or hardware. The purpose of the firewall is to protect your computer from hackers and viruses by filtering the information allowed into your network. Always make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date (such as Norton Antivirus), and install a spam blocker or filter in your email account.
Monitor Financial Accounts and Credit Reports Regularly. A big company breach will gain access to your credit card information leaving it open for credit card theft. Keep a close eye on your
financial records and put alerts on bank accounts and credit cards so you know straight away of odd charges on your account. Scammers Purchase Phone Numbers. Scammers purchase phone numbers from hackers to make scamming you easier than ever. The scam works from persistent contact where the scam artist builds up a rapport with the victim, for instance, holding out the promise of a huge payout if only the victim just pays an additional small sum of money to take care of technicalities or uses threats and heavy-handed pressure and intimidation. You may also get a call or request for a call because there's a problem with your computer. Check your caller ID before answering and if you don't recognize the number or caller's name, don't answer.
retailers such as Target's 2013 credit card breach. The best way to protect yourself is to use cash, but only 20% of holiday shoppers plan to do that. If you do plan to use a credit card, use a credit card vs. debit card which offers more protections than a debit card in the event of fraud. It's also recommended to use just one card for your holiday purchases and use one with a low credit limit.
Ransom Notes That Attack Your Computer. Ransomware, a type of software that computer hackers use to hold individuals' data hostage by blocking access to files unless they agree to pay a ransom, is on the rise. Your computer will still work, but your files will not be accessible. The hackers encrypt your files and hold them until you pay a fee that could be upwards of $500 or more, paid to a Bitcoin account which is untraceable. Do not pay the fees, go directly to the police or FBI with these situations.
Have Discussions About Fraud with Elderly Family Members. Scammers and hackers prey on the elderly and are the most susceptible to fraud. They are the least aware of the current scams and fear the repercussions. Dementia and other age related mental impairments often emerge gradually and inconsistently. It only takes one lapse of confusion for your elderly parents or grandparents to make a huge, costly mistake. Inform your relatives about common scam practices.
Credit Cards and Big Company Data Breaches. According to a recent survey, over 52% of consumers are fearful of data breaches by big
Stay on Top of the Latest Frauds such as Gift Card Fraud. One of the latest scams involves gift cards. With holiday gift giving upcoming, this scam will likely be on the rise. Thieves target gift card display racks, grab a stack of gift cards, snap a photo of the back of the card or jot down the card numbers in the store and wait for the cards to be activated. They then call to find the available balance and go online shopping. Protect yourself and those who receive the gift cards by purchasing gift cards from retailers who keep gift cards behind the counter and not accessible to crooks. Also do not buy gift cards that are being sold on auction websites. Phony Retail Shopping Apps. Phony shopping apps look like regular retailer's apps and encourage you to click on a link within an email to get your app. Once you click on the link, their intention is to steal your personal information and credit card information. Help protect yourself by only clicking on links to the app from the retailer's official website, watch for bad reviews, improper English, and links to competing apps.
¡Hazlo hoy! ¡Feliz año nuevo!
New Year's
Resolutions The time has come for us to fool ourselves into thinking we are going to make all these positive changes in our lives that will be kept all year long. We all want change. We all get that “new year, new me” mentality when we can't even process changing lanes on the road correctly. Some of the most popular New Year Resolutions are the following:
Fitness: We've all been there. We say “I'm going to get on a diet and join a gym to go every day and I'm going to look fantastic because I have… Oooh, is that cake?” We actually manage to join the gym, but our weight lifting goes something like this… “One, two, three…Oh my god, I want to die”! – Then a hot guy walks by you – “Fourty-eight, fourty-nine, fifty! Nailed it! Grrrrr…” I actually thought I had made a magical connection at the gym once. I walked by this very attractive guy because he was smiling at me while he lifted heavy weights (which is extremely friendly at a gym) only to realize he was just grinding his teeth.Awkwaaaaaaaard! I used to have a trainer but didn't make much sense to me to have one because a trainer is someone you pay money to make you go to a place you are already paying for to use the machines that you are already supposed to be using. I'm sure some are great, but mine talked so much about his life it felt like I was paying
him for me to become his free therapist. Traveling: We all have thought of taking that vacation to go to that place we've always wanted to visit. My life is so uneventful, I fantasize about going to Taco Bell so I don't have to cook that day. I've always wanted to visit Spain (which happens to be my family's background). I even have the accent to prove it. The more I drink, the thicker it gets. I tell my bartender to cut me off if, instead of me ordering libations from him, it sounds like he's talking to the Puss in Boots from Shrek. “A drink you may serve me, 'bot if I ask yu forrrrr a drrrrink'…call me a cab”! I'd love to go to Italy also. They have great food. Or maybe the Caribbean. They have amazing dishes. Or perhaps Japan since I love sushi. It seems every country I like is based on the food they have which
already tells you I will fail miserably at that first New Year's Eve resolution. Love: We all want to find love. I can't even find where I left my wallet, but it would be nice to have someone there beside you to help you look for it. It's hard to find love in our community nowadays, but I remain hopeful. If Donald Trump can marry models, so can I! Al I need is a bank account the size of his ego. You want to make other resolutions that most of us don't consider, but are as important? You can borrowsomeoftheonesIthoughtofformyself… Spend more times with family, call friends rather than liking their posts on Facebook or make sure I wear pants next time I go stand in line at the bank to make a deposit. And why wait for a new year to have resolutions? You want change and improve yourlife?Doittoday! IhopeyouallhaveasafeandhappyNewYear!

WOODY POST BETTER PICS
H
ey Woody, I'm a 22-year old college student and I'm on the apps A LOT. For those of us in the gay glam world who are only mildly attractive, we typically have to rely on our personality to get us a man. But personality doesn't seem to count much on the Apps, where it's all about the pics. I get a trickle of interest when I post my G-rated pics but I get a flood of proposals when I use my Xrated pics. Sadly, my penis is everything I'm not—big and beautiful. The thing is, I don't want to trick; I want to date. Do you think it's "slutty" to hook the boys by showing them the goods upfront then try to convince them that I'm worth dating, even if I'm not an Abercrombie model? ---Ethical Dilemma Dear Dilemma: It isn't slutty; it's inconsistent. Which, if you ask me, is worse. At least you can get your hands on a slut. Inconsistent, contradictory guys are harder to get a hold of than a stick of soap in a grease pit. Listen, you can't write a profile that says you're a romantic who likes long walks on the beach and then post pictures of your penis, Mr. Tripod. You'll make people think they're going to take your penis on a walk. And really, who wants to go down on something that sandy? 'Bait & Switch' ain't your only option. Here are a few more:
Get better pictures. Remember, beauty is only a light switch away. The point isn't to look like someone you're not. It's to look your best. Lighting, angles, positions, clothing, facial expressions can be tricky to catch on film. Experiment until you feel you've got pictures that make you look best. Get a better profile. You are SO wrong that pictures are the only things that count online. For every guy that joins GrindR, Scruff or whatever to hook up there are two that join because they want a relationship. Okay, one. Okay, half of one. Seriously, there are PLENTY of guys there that want to date. Put your d!ck in jail. Post your penis pics but lock them up. The only people who get to see them are people you've pre-qualified. Somewhere in your profile write, "Oh, and here's a bonus to dating me: I'm hung." State what you want clearly: "LOOKING TO DATE. NOT OPEN TO HOOKUPS." Make sure your profile has a lot to say about yourself and what you want. Guys will see how much time you took writing it and interpret it as an indication that you'd rather write than f#ck. I mean, date than hookup. Put your d!ck where your mouth is. Put your c*ck shots next to your face shots. But put them last in line. By putting your face pics first, you're saying you want to date. By putting your d!ck pics last, you're waving an incentive. Paint yourself as a sensual dater--a relationship-oriented guy who has a lot to offer in and out of bed.
