LESLIE JORDAN, SHANTELL D'MARCO, AND MARTY CHILDERS PROVIDE AN INTERVIEW TRIFECTA THIS WEEK! Leslie Jordan is a comedic genius who has been at the top of his game for years. From his numerous movie roles to his iconic Emmy winning stint on Will and Grace, no other gay comedian has put it all out there like he has. Jordan is 61 and is a pioneer in LGBT comedy. There was never really a closet big enough for him, and that's no pun about his small size. He has made a living on his “queerness” even when it was still a strong taboo to be a homosexual. Jordan is as funny and sassy as ever in our interview and I think you are going to love it. Don't miss his show this Saturday at the Sunshine Cathedral. This week we are also brining you everything you need to know about the upcoming Female Impersonation pageant season here in South Florida.
We have a feature on protecting your home from burglars, as well as our third instalment of our new column Queens we love which features a conversation with Shantell D'Marco, the current Miss Florida F.I. As most any gay man will tell you, we love the theatre, so this week we have a conversation with Marty Childers, the new Managing Director of Island City Stage in Wilton Manors. It was great to chat with him about the big things that are ahead for the company brining quality shows to our community. On the cover, check out our Genre Latino hottie Jose Sanchez who is ready to sail away on one of the gay cruises leaving from the area this weekend. Bon Voyage! As always, thanks for reading Hotspots.

The best chatter on Facebook and Twitter this week If I told you eight years ago that America would reverse a great recession, reboot our auto industry… take out the mastermind of 9/11. If I told you we would secure the right to marriage equality…add health care for another 20 million of our citizens… you might have said, ‘our sights are set a little too high.’ But that’s what we did. — President Barack Obama in his farewell speech to the nation last week.
“On behalf of the [State] Department, I apologize to those who were impacted by the practices of the past and reaffirm the Department’s steadfast commitment to diversity and inclusion for all our employees, including members of the LGBT community” —U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry apologizing last week for the department’s history of discrimination against LGBT employees starting in the 1940s and stretching for decades.
“Although my TV or my radio persona was always that of a happy guy, there was this underlying ache inside of me for years, so I decided either I was gonna do something about it or I was gonna live with this layer of misery underneath that happy face on the TV.” — Country Music star Cody Alan, as he announced he was gay.
IDLE CHATTER “Every time I see a sign that reads: ‘Now Under New Management’, I feel like they’re really saying, “We know. The last guy was an asshole…” —Omar M., Ft. The answer is: “dehydrated Russian prostitutes.” —EJR Streep, Clinton, Obama, Immigrants, Muslims, Rosie, Megan, New York Times, CNN, nonFox media in general…Donald Trump has an insult for everyone but [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. exclusive INTERVIEW
Brings humor Bringshis hisoutlasdish outlasdish humor to Sunshine Cathedral to Sunshine Cathedral
By Ian Maloney It is hard to say the name Leslie Jordan without smiling. Known for his sass and his diminutive stature, Jordan shot to mainstream fame for his role as Beverly Leslie on Will and Grace. He has spent years in Hollywood keeping audiences in stitches and on Saturday, January 21, he will bring his “Straight Outta Chattanooga” tour to the Sunshine Cathedral (1480 SW 9th Ave, Fort Lauderdale) for the opening salvo of the Outlandish comedy series. The series will feature Miss Coco Peru, Pam Ann, and Miss Richfield 1981 who will appear separately at shows that will take place throughout the “winter.” It was a pleasure to chat with Leslie ahead of his stop in Fort Lauderdale for this exclusive Hotspots interview.
Q: I am so excited to get the chance to speak to you today. I even wore pink socks to celebrate the occasion! A: Oh My God!!
Just because she didn’t want to have her wig snatched off that time? (In his book My Trip Down the Pink Carpet , Jordan claims that Collins was originally cast as Beverly Leslie, the character he played on Will and Grace. The scene had Collins and Megan Mullally pulling each other’s wigs off. As Jordan tells it, Collins refused and “they fired her ass”. He landed the role and the rest, as they say is history.) EXACTLY!!! And she…it’s lessened her chances of employment. I’m not making any of this up, I wish I could show you or read the letter. So I was just told ignore. But I couldn’t help it, I wrote on Facebook , but
then I took it down. I told him, I’m a gay man Percy, we adore your wife. You on the other hand are a F$#KING idiot. So that’s the elephant in the room.
Well, I would say that you should have no problem finding legal representation to fight that case for you. That’s funny, cause I just called a lawyer friend of mine because I do need representation. I stared a year ago, writing… it’s a play with music. I don’t want to call it a musical, that would be a reunion between Megan Mullally and me. I haven’t approached her yet. I’m not going to yet until it’s further along, but it takes place in a circus tent in a Kmart parking lot in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I’m Brother Homer Hamlet and she’s my lovely wife, Sister Lou Anne. We want to save your soul and anoint you, but you’ve got to give us some MONEY!
q
I have to get things started with the elephant in the room. You had social media all abuzz last week about the (possible) return of Will and Grace. Can you give us any more details? Is it going to happen? Please don’t break our poor little gay hearts, Mr. Jordan. Here’s what I’ve been told. I have talked about this for a long time… I’ve heard, it’s rumored, that there are 10 episodes picked up. No one’s bothered to call me. I’m a guest star. I was a pretty big guest star and one of three guest stars over the 12 years that won Emmys. Each of them won an Emmy, Megan [Mullally] won two. So apparently what happened was… on NPR they asked, is it definite? And I said yes. Well honey, they called and (you can print all this) I was just told to zip it. ZIP IT! And that’s all I know. I would love to be a part of it. It has ballooned into insanity because I’m now also now being threatened with a lawsuit from Percy Gibson, who is Joan Collins’ husband. Because, you know one thing blossoms into another and people see a chance, and umm… apparently, for 10 years I have disparaged his wife.
“
Leslie Jordan Exclusive Interview
What you are going to see at the Sunshine Cathedral is really just me at my best. It’s just the stories about me, a boy from Chattanooga who ended up making it to the White House..
Yes Jesus, SIGN ME UP! Anyway, it’s called Church of Spiritual Revival. I have an angel in the name of Anthony Watson who is a member of our tribe. He also was the CEO of Barclay’s Bank. I went to London to entertain him, and I didn’t even pay attention. Then he took over a company, it’s very tiny, called Nike. Then he left Nike cause Portland, Oregon is GHAAAASTLY. Anyway, he’s loose in Hollywood with lots of money to invest, on his own now, with his own bank. And that is just so much bigger news than the revival of that other show we were talking about.
Ok, one more elephant in the room question. Your new tour is called “Straight Outta Chattanooga.” Is straight really the best first word for a tour starring Leslie Jordan? Well, here’s the way it happened, uhhh, ehhh…the short version. Ten years ago, I won an Emmy for that TV show, the aforementioned TV show, and I thought I was SET! I really did. And…absolutely nothing. I’m telling you, I’m not making this up, nothing. 14 cents in my bank account. And, you can’t eat an Emmy. So I made one of the smartest decisions, I had done this off and on for years, one man shows. I always thought they were a good way to up my cache for TV and film, but it has really worked the other way. You know, TV and film is what I do kinda so I can do what I am going to do at the Sunshine Cathedral. That’s why I do things in Hollywood. So, I hired a marketing firm, I didn’t know what branding was. You know, Kim Kardashian had not yet made her sex tape. You didn’t know you could have done it that easily? Listen, I would have let Brandy’s bother
screw me had I known. So I called this marketing firm and I said, just brand me. Sell me to the gay community. And now, we are much wider than that cause it’s up to 44 venues. I opened this show during DC during Pride. We originally had nine songs and costumes, and I had pieces of paper all over the stage. After the show my best friend told me, “Well, that was just awful. Why don’t you just stand on the stage and tell the damn stories.” Sadly that was the night of the Orlando tragedy, the massacre happened. I was taken to the White House, by our dear outgoing president, along with the DC gay choir, to make sure when the tourists arrived at the White House there was a gay presence. All of a sudden that upped the cache of this show. All of a sudden, it was a lot more at stake than me up on stage tap dancing to The Chattanooga Choo Choo. So what you are going to see at the Sunshine Cathedral is really just me at my best. It’s just the stories about me, a boy from Chattanooga who ended up making it to the White House. It’s really widely funny and I am so proud of it.

SLOW BURN THEATRE COMPANY Presents: TONY AWARD-WINNER
TITANIC THE MUSICAL
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
inner of ive Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score, Titanic: The Musical comes to the Amaturo Theater for a striking production by Slow Burn Theatre Company from Thursday, January 19 – Sunday, February 5. Titanic took Broadway by storm in 1997, the same year director James Cameron offered movie goers a different tale of the historic voyage. Recalling the real millionaires, aristocrats and immigrants who sailed the “ship of dreams” during those fateful days in 1912, Titanic tells how the events unfolded with humor, pathos and stirring, unforgettable music from the creative team of composer and lyricist Maury Yeston, book writer Peter Stone and orchestrator Ian Weinberger. “We are performing a new version that has 20 actors playing over 60 characters,” Fitzwater said. “The score has been re-orchestrated beautifully to capture the intimacy of these real life passengers during the comedy and drama of this momentous voyage.” Matthew Korinko as the ship's designer, Andrew Rodriguez-Triana as the ship's owner and Alan Gerstel as the captain are part of a powerful cast of local performers portraying the crew and passengers including Aaron Atkinson, Alexa Baray, Gary Dirda, Justen Fox-Hall, Sunny Gay, David Hyman, David Klein, Mallory Newbrough, Ann Marie Olson, Sahid Pabon, Casey Sacco, Leah Sessa, James Skiba, Victor
Souffrant, Troy Stanley, Landon Summers and Jordan Wolfe. Director and Choreographer Patrick Fitzwater leads a creative team which features music director Manny Schvartzman, scenic designer Sean McClelland, costume designer Rick Pena, lighting designer Thomas Schorock and sound designer Rich Szczublewski. Describing the themes of the musical, Stone wrote, “This is the factual story of that ship—of her of icers, crew and passengers, to be sure—but she will not, as has happened so many times before, serve as merely the background against which ictional, melodramatic narratives are recounted. The central character of our Titanic is the Titanic herself.” Performances are Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $47-$60. Buy tickets online at BrowardCenter.org or Ticketmaster.com; by phone at 954-462-0222; in person at Ticketmaster outlets or the Broward Center's AutoNation Box Of ice. The Broward Center 2016-2017 season is presented by the Broward Performing Arts Foundation with generous support from the Salah Foundation. AutoNation, Bank of America, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, LATAM AIRLINES, MasterCard, Paramount Refreshment Solutions and Sun Sentinel are proud sponsors of the Broward Center.

Shantell D’ Marco 2016 Miss Florida F.I.
50 | Hotspots.LGBT
[exclusive interview] by Scott Holland I will never forget the very first time I saw Shantell D'Marco in a pageant. I don't remember the name of the pageant, but it was held at O'Zone and the presentation was Winter Wonderland. Every contestant came out in big furs and hats, etc. and Shantell was the final contestant. She came out on stage in shorts a tank top and roller blades and got on the microphone and said “Good Evening Ladies and gentleman,
and distinguished panel of judges, my name is Shantell and I give you Winter Wonderland….in South Florida.” Needless to say the crowd went crazy and she gave us that beautiful smile she has become famous for. At that moment, I said to myself, ‘this girl is special and is going to be big.’ Fast forward to now and she has won many titles, is a cast member at the Parliament House and is your current reigning Miss Florida F.I. It was a pleasure to sit down and chat with Shantell less than 2 weeks before the first preliminary for Miss Florida F.I. 2017: Miss & Mister Noche Latina at Bailo Nightclub (7020 NW 72nd Ave, Miami) on Wednesday, January 25. What was the first drag show you saw and tell me about the experience? This is taking me back to the late 90's to the Waterfront Nightclub in Miami, FL where I saw Yuli Mastrozzimone perform on a Saturday night. The experience was so unique, to the point that a couple of weeks after I was performing at that same night club and she was calling my name as one of the entertainers. When did you decide you wanted to do drag and when did you realize it would be your career? Right after I had the chance to perform for the first time at the Waterfront and then Ozone night club and noticed the power of being on a stage with a live audience just a couple of feet from me, I decided that was what I wanted to do ... lots of people told me that it was hard or almost impossible just to have a career as a Female Impersonator but look me at 15 plus years after that first performance holding a strong and stable career. What's your favorite number to perform and why? Working for so many years and being a cast member at numerous night clubs, I have many favorite numbers to perform. I love music with feeling and songs that have a message. As far as favorite? Hmmmm, I would have to say Troy by Sinead O'Connor. That woman's voice is power. What's the best thing that has happened to you in drag? The blessing of meeting so many people through the years, both on and off the stage, is the thing that happened to me in drag. I have met good friends, sisters, family, promoters, and my love. They're all a part of my life now because of drag. What differentiates you from other Queens (makes you unique)? Hmmmm, I don't know ... We are all unique. You can have the same song performed by 50 drag performers and you will see it done

Are you in the process of planning your winter getaway? People can't wait to share their travel destinations and photos with their friends on social media. However, this is a critical time to step away from social media to protect your family and home. Social media networks are growing in number and popularity every day. Yet, surprisingly, users are increasingly less careful with the personal information they share with their “friends. You may think you have a firm grasp on who your friends are but many
56 | Hotspots.LGBT
people forget that there are people they've accepted as friends that are merely acquaintances, people they haven't seen in many years, or maybe they're friends of friends and not someone you personally know well. When users post updates on social media, especially those that are less selective in accepting friend requests, they are opening themselves up to sharing important and private information with some people that will use the information to take advantage of you and your home.

5 Social Media Tips to Protect You and Your Home
· Announcing Vacation Plans. Taking a vacation is a wonderful thing and sharing the news is exciting, but it also indicates that no one will be home for a period of time. This sends a red alert that your home is most likely vacant, which could lead to a break-in or squatters. Also, unless your mail is stopped while you're away, a thief may also have access to your mailbox and important mail. · Sharing Photos of Your Home and Things. Did you get something new for your home? Did you just get engaged? Did you just remodel a room? These are times many people like to snap a photo and share on social media, but these photos are also telling of what else you have in your home and if there's something worth stealing. Your photo may show TV's and computers, a pricey engagement ring, a plethora of gifts around the tree, or expensive artwork. Before you share, think about what you're showing your followers. · RSVP's. Any time you publicly RSVP to parties, school events, concerts or any other event, you're giving an intruder an invitation to target your home—after all, you're going to be busy that night! Social media may not give away your home address, but with the internet it's not hard to find out. · Check-Ins. You're somewhere cool and can't wait to share it with your followers so you “check-in”—whether it's a new restaurant or vacation spot. Businesses often encourage customers to check in and may even offer a reward for sharing it. But check-ins tell followers that you're not at home and if you tag your friends, you're putting them at risk too. · Gift Giving Occasions. Birthdays, Valentine's Day, anniversaries, graduations, and other gift giving occasions are always a lot of fun and it's tempting to post all the details. Refrain from showing off that new diamond necklace your love interest bestowed upon you for Valentine's Day on Instagram or Facebook. Those with bad intentions will be highly interested in your new valuable addition and may follow your schedule on social media to determine when you will or will not be home. To help prevent home security issues from happening to you, be mindful of who you accept as a “friend” on social media. Really consider what you're sharing and with whom you're sharing it. Think of it this way, if all your social media friends were in a big room, would you tell the entire crowd you're going away and your home will be left vacant? If your answer is no, then you shouldn't be sharing it on social media. Consider this and not only your home, but your privacy as a whole will be better protected.

INTERVIEW 5 Questions By Ian Maloney
1
Q: TELL US ABOUT YOUR ROLE AT
ISLAND CITY STAGE A: I started work at Island City Stage as the Managing Director January 4, 2016. The theatre had grown in its 4 years of existence and part of their strategic plan was to hire a managing director to handle the day to day operations of the theatre’s business including marketing, fundraising and inancial management. That entails a lot and sometimes it means I clean up the theatre for a show but my main purpose is to see that the theatre has the inancial backing to produce the shows.

Q: WHERE ARE YOU FROM AND HOW
DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN THEATRE? A: I am from a small town in Eastern Kentucky, Pikeville, and I managed a professional theatre company located in the cities of Prestonsburg and Pikeville for 14 years. My involvement in theatre began as an actor, later joining the board at Jenny Wiley Theatre and then inally stepping into the position of Executive Director. It was a wonderful experience working there but it was time for me to accept some new challenges. I saw the Island City Stages search for a Managing Director online and responded after the interview process I was hired.

Q: TELL US SOMETHING THAT MOST
PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT ISLAND CITY STAGE OR THAT THEY WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW. A: Island City Stage’s mission of producing theatrical experiences that positively impact the LGBT and general community has led us to seek out new works from local and national playwrights. One of those shows by playwright Michael McKeever entitled “Daniel’s Husband” had its world premiere at Island City Stage and will soon open in NYC. New York Grilled Cheese Two locations serving extra cheesy goodness
By Andrew LaRochelle
Recently, my fiancé Steven and I had the pleasure of tasting all the best the New York Grilled Cheese (NYGC) has to offer. NYGC has two locations, one in Wilton Manors and the other in Boca Raton. We went to the Wilton Manors location located at 2207 Wilton Dr. in Wilton Manors. We were excited to enter the pink building with Yellow Sign. As we walked in we see a painted wall that reads “Age is something that doesn’t matter, unless you are a cheese”. As we giggled to ourselves a little, we were greeted by NYGC owner Leor, a handsome Canadian with a Russian background. He told us about how he wanted to do
78 | Hotspots.LGBT
a different spin on a classic sandwich. “Everything is made from scratch and there is nothing artificial about the food.” All melts are served with NYGC famous 4 oz. homemade, creamy tomato basil bisque. Sandwiches look a little different as they are grilled with a waffle iron that was redesigned to toast bread. “The grooves that the waffle iron gives the bread are perfect to soak up the bisque”, said Leor. NYGC also offers delicious sides, sweet desserts along with selected craft beers and fine wines to wash it all down. They are open late on weekends so you can eat with friends after a fun night on the drive.
We started off our tasting with the smaller side items. First, we tried the Bacon Lollipops ($3.95). Who doesn’t like bacon? These Lollipops are the perfect blend of sweet and salty which is delivered to your mouth on a stick. These meat lollipops are deep fried Applewood bacon that is dipped in a sweet, homemade, maple glaze that gives you a heart stopping melt in your mouth adventure. Next, we tried the Hot Pork Sundae ($8.95), which sounds like a dessert but is anything but. This side item has everything and could even be a meal for someone with a smaller appetite. The base is Waffle fries which are topped
with melt-in your-mouth slow roasted BBQ pulled pork, smothered in hot homemade gravy, and covered in rich melted American cheese and sprinkled with cajun seasoning. Now that we had warmed up our bellies, we ordered one of the sandwiches, the Blue Buffalo ($10.50).This melt combines grilled cheese and chicken wings. The sandwich is served between two perfectly toasted Country Loaf slices, and is filled with pankocrusted boneless Buffalo chicken tenders, mildly spiced housemade Buffalo Sauce, and smothered with ooey gooey American and blue jack cheese. Leor brought some more sides for us to try as we were enjoying the Buffalo. We tried the Cavatappi Mac and Cheese ($5.95) and it was delicious, it is sure to put a smile on your face. This comfort food classic is house made with Cavatappi macaroni, fresh melted cheese, a sprinkle of chives, all topped with hot crumbled bacon. We still had a lot to taste so Leor served us two more sandwiches to try. The next melt we tried was the Brooklyn Prokster ($10.50). This mouthwatering blend of housemade, slow roasted pork, melted American-Chedder Cheese, crunchy dill pickles, carmelized onions is smothered with Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, and served on a fresh waffle-baked country loaf. This sandwich sure does get the juices going and we were ready to try the last melt. The Wall Steet Grindr ($10.95) is a melt geared to more of a breakfast type of sandwich but can be enjoyed
Brooklyn Prokster
Disco Fries all day and night. You can taste the toasted garlic bread holding together the layers of thick cut crispy bacon, country style scrambled eggs, golden waffle fries, savory carmelized onions and melted American Cheese. We had two last sides to taste so we went with the Chicken Tenders Boat ($8.95) and Disco Fries ($7.95). The Boat is a perfectly fried side that consists of panko encrusted boneless chicken breast, served with a sweet bistro mustard aioli. The Disco Fries are Canadian inspired and are also referred to as “Poutine”. This side is sure to please the palate and accompany any melt or by themselves as a late night snack. It starts with their golden waffle fries, smothered in creamy cheese morsels and covered with homemade hot gravy and garnished with chives. We had just enough room to try a dessert so we decided
Hell’s Kitchen Bread Pudding on the NYGC famous Hell’s Kitchen Bread Pudding ($3.95) which is described as “Made in Hell’s Kitchen but tastes like Heaven on Earth” by the restaurant. This sweet treat is soft bread and homemade custard, topped with white chocolate morsels and finished with marshmallow and mixed berry sauces. This sinful dessert is the perfect way to end your meal at NYGC. New York Grilled Cheese is the perfect place to grab a quick lunch/ dinner and a fun place to hang out after a night out. The food at NYGC is always fresh and made to order and you can tell when you taste it. Go see Leor and his friendly staff at either location or check out some of their exceptional comfort food today. u2207 Wilton Drive Wilton Manors, FL 33305 (954) 564-6887 u493 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432 (561) 277-0777. Awards season is finally here. Popular opinion is that the Golden Globes are a barometer for the Oscars. If that's the case, then it should be a pretty cheery couple months for "La La Land". Does anyone light up a room more than Goldie Hawn - whether or not she knows she's there? Did John Travolta have to leave early to go to work as a maitre d' at a gay restaurant? Shouldn't Sofia Vergara always be Miss Golden Globes? Am I the only one who wants to see "My Life as a Zucchini"? And, how do you call the three

daughters of Jennifer Flavin "talented"?
I had a fun-filled night at the Globes schmoozing with friends, both old and new. I spent some time on the red carpet with the twins - Gary and Larry Lane. Then I almost tripped over Sylvester Stallone - boy, is he short! Ryan Gosling was the first person to slip out moments after the awards ended. I caught up with "King Cobra" star Garrett Clayton in the lobby. At the fabulous HBO party, Nicole Kidman literally walked through the press line,
got her photo taken, and dashed out the other end. Ditto Sarah Jessica Parker and Reese Witherspoon. Lea Thompson is always a breath of fresh air. Niecy Nash in red never disappoints. Yvette Nicole Brown was stunning in bronze. But I ditched all of them the moment Dame Joan Collins made her entrance. I laughed with "Project Runaway" alum Blake Patterson. Shared a quiet moment of reflection with Joely Fisher (who was both "proud and sad" that the
Olympic champion Greg Louganis made history as the first openly gay Grand Marshal of the Rose Parade on New Year's Day. But it didn't go off without incident. "When I was introduced...well, there were some boos. It actually made me feel proud, as I am who I am and will not back down from that or apologize for that." It should be added that during the parade, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation had a float remembering the victims
No one is exempt from discrimination. But bon vivant Bruce Vilanch says that he's experienced it from an unlikely source - the writer of the Broadway hit "Hamilton". After seeing the show, Vilanch had what he thought was a great idea - he could play the role of King George III! In the original cast, the role was played by our very own Jonathan Groff, but the conceit for the show is color-blind and non-traditional casting, so
Tom Daley
British diver Tom Daley recently revealed that when he met now-fiancĂŠ Dustin Lance Black, he had not seen the writer's 2009 Academy Awardwinning film "Milk". "It was a good eight weeks after I met Lance that I watched 'Milk'. He actually made me watch it on a train ride home from London to Plymouth the first time that he came over." Look, I'm all for being proud of your work. But I don't know it's a great way to start a new relationship by making someone do anything - except for in bed, naturally. But DLB is all about making people do things. He recently told "Attitude" magazine, "I have no respect for someone who lies about their sexuality."
of the Pulse nightclub shooting. At a certain point, they released 49 doves - one for each of the victims. I don't think anyone booed that.
Bruce Vilanch
Golden Globes broke tradition and honored the passing of Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher). Then I ran into sexy Justin Hartley and we somehow started talking about where we first met. For years, I have told people I met him in Kathy Griffin's kitchen (two houses ago). Justin said, "I don't think so - I've never been to her house." He thinks she may have been with us at some awards show or party.
why not? Vilanch shared this anecdote on RuPaul's holiday podcast. "I went back and saw Lin-Manuel and said, 'I want to play the King. One costume, three songs that are all the same and no stairs to climb? I'm in.' He said, 'We have a casting concept.' And of course the casting concept is everybody is hot - everybody is young and hot! There's no old Ben Franklin wobbling across the stage." So I was curious about the real King George. During the American Revolution, he was actually in his 30s. Once he hit his 40s, George started exhibiting signs of the hereditary disorder porphyria. This led to him gaining weight, developing gout and, eventually, going mad. So there is a historical precedent for a somewhat plus-sized King George. And nowhere in my research did I see him referred to as a KILF! When it's an honor to simply be nominated, it's definitely time to end yet another column. I'd tell you more, but I'm exhausted, my feet are killing me, and I still have to update www.BillyMasters.com - the site that never sleeps. If you'd like to reach out and touch me, drop a note to Billy@BillyMasters.com and I promise to get back to you before I figure out who the f%#k I met in Kathy Griffin's kitchen! Until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.
If you have a question, send it to Billy@BillyMasters.com and I promise to get back to you before Seacrest offers himself up as a CPR dummy at his local firehouse! So, until next time, remember, one man's filth is another man's bible.

Me encanta hacer ejercicio. How would you describe yourself? Spontaneous, optimistic, and a dog lover- I have three dogs that I love. What do you do in your free time? Besides go to the gym, I love to read, I love movies and I love to spend time with my friends. I also LOVE the beach. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Lately, I´ve been dreaming of going to Greece. It seems like such a magical place with all the architecture and the ruins. I would really love to go to Athens. What's your secret to staying in shape? My secret is discipline. Instead of seeing it as a punishment, I see fitness as a lifestyle. I eat healthy five days a week and I only have one cheat day.

NEED WOOD
By Woody Miller
AGE MATTERS
H
ey Woody! I’m 24, he’s 18. The only thing that’s stopping me from falling in love is his age. I find myself constantly lying about it to my friends. Am I crazy for thinking that dating somebody that young could actually work out? He’s everything I want in a guy-- he’s almost more mature than I am and has more goals and is more on his way to achieving them than I am. Yet, the age thing is always in the back of my head. Also, I’m worried that he’s only holding on because I’m his ‘first’ and to top it off, I’ve decided to move to another city and he wants to come with me. Help! What should I do? — Dazed and Confused
y Dear Dazed: Look, if God had said, “LET THERE BE LIGHT!” and you were the one who hit the switch, you might have a point about the age spread, but come on! I’ve seen bowling pins stand further than your birthdates. Why are you so hung up on his age? It’s character, not years, that defines a man. Speaking of character, I see a giant flaw in yours. By constantly lying about his age, you’re basically telling him and the world that you’re ashamed of him, that there’s something wrong with him. How’d you like it if he lied to his friends about your age? Would you feel accepted? Loved? Trusted? Supported? Stop lying and start bragging. As for him holding on to you because you’re his ‘first,’ so what? The world is filled with high school sweethearts who lasted a lifetime with their ‘firsts.’ I say make him a part of your relocation package. Leaving him because you’re afraid the relationship won’t work out is like leaving a job because you’re afraid you might get laid off.
Hey Woody! I’m a frustrated 19 year-old. I’m not into dudes my age at all—we just don’t click. I’m always told I look and act like I’m in my mid-twenties, but once guys in their late 20’s figure out how old I am they ditch me and tell me to go after somebody my own age. How can I convince these guys that I’m capable of having a relationship with them? — Hey, 19 Dear Hey, 19: The fact that these guys are passing you around like reefer tells me they aren’t dumping you because you’re too young; they’re dumping you because you’re too immature. Or because there’s no chemistry, or they don’t see you as marriage material. Or because, in pizza terms, they’ve pounded you into dough, tossed you up high and shoved you into their trick oven marked, “DONE.” Now, assuming that you’re getting kicked to the curb because of your age and nothing else, it means that you’re a whole lot more immature than you think. Here are a couple of things you an do to turn it around: A. Invoke The “Three-Dates-Before-Sex” Rule. God, I hate this kind of chick-sh!t. However, by delaying sex, you’ll weed out or at least minimize the players who just want to get into your pants. But more importantly, it shows selfcontrol—something 19 year olds are not famous for. B. Share The Costs Of Dating. Don’t let older guys pay for dinner. Go Dutch. It’ll win you many points. Nobody wants to be their boyfriend’s walking wallet. Independence is another word for maturity. So is generosity.

With the holidays behind us, more and more guys are focusing on the year ahead, warmer weather, less clothes, and hopefully a tropical vacation cruise on the not too distant horizon. Of course, with this agenda, many see and feel the urgent need to shed a pound or two. Or maybe more? While this is a positive step forward, many will experience frustration and failure. Some expect magic, overnight results. Others start off with great intentions, but make mistakes along the way which sabotage their results. Truthfully, healthy weight loss requires planning, hard work and patience. There are no magic solutions, wonder pills or fad diets that can guarantee results, despite their phony promises and crazy hype. Here are some solid weight loss suggestions which will help you foster better eating habits as you lose fat, build lean muscle, and maintain a healthy weight all year long!
1 by Tom Bonanti
Be mindful of your calories. To lose weight, you must operate on a negative calorie-balanced diet. One pound of bodyweight is equivalent to 3500 calories. If you require 2500 calories just to maintain your weight (BMR – Basil Metabolic Rate), you need to cut back to 2000 calories, daily in order to achieve a healthy weight loss of 2-3 lbs. in one week. This is a great program for days on which you are sedentary. On days when you work out, you will need extra calories, about 250 to 300 calories, to fuel your weight training and cardio. Keep track of calories
by maintaining a food journal. Implement portion control by using a food scale and measuring utensils. Learn visual cues to estimate portion sizes. For example, 3 ounces of protein is the size of a deck of cards, and one cup of pasta resembles a baseball. Don't go getting all OCD about your calories, just use common sense and pay attention to your body! Eat breakfast and don't skip meals. When you cut out meals, especially breakfast (your most important meal), your body goes into a starvation mode – it shuts down its calorieburning mechanisms and begins to store fat. Without fuel from proper nutrition, your metabolism will nosedive and you'll feel exhausted, or drained. This recipe for ruining your weight loss program (promulgated by many fad diet programs) can be avoided by daily having a healthy breakfast. Eat consistently throughout the day, every 2-3 hours, smaller meals and snacks. This way, your body gets a steady supply of carbs for energy, protein for healthy muscles and “good fats” for the production of essential hormones. Also, you'll have the energy to fuel your active life-style!

3
An exercise program is key. Aerobic exercises, like running, walking, cycling, and swimming require you to work harder and utilize more oxygen. These activities also burn more calories and they challenge your heart and lungs to work
With these basics in place, here are some other factors to consider: • Get enough sleep (8 – 10 hours) so that your body can rest and produce regulatory hormones that can affect your weight, appetite, and energy levels. • Know the numbers (1 gram of carbs = 4 calories; 1 gram of protein = 4 calories; 1 gram of fat = 9 calories; 1 gram of alcohol = 7 empty calories!). harder and become stronger. Anaerobic exercise, i.e. weight training, burns less calories overall, but increases your body's muscle mass. The more muscle you carry, the more fat and calories you'll burn, even at rest. Several recent studies have revealed that while anaerobic workouts don't burn as many calories as aerobic training initially, those who weight train, especially early in the day, jack up their metabolism in such a way that their bodies become calorie burning, fat melting machines all day long! Three cheers for morning workouts! A successful and healthy weight loss program must include healthy eating, aerobic activity (daily 30 minutes) and anaerobic resistance training (weights 2 – 3 times per week for 20 minutes).
• Be on guard against stress eating, mindless eating in front of the TV and, worst of all, late night binge eating. Portion out your snacks and never eat out of the bag or by the hand-full! • Too much partying on weekends can lead to mucho extra calories and hangovers that'll put the kibosh on your training regime. Want a gorgeous body? Party less. Period.
Remember, weight loss is gradual – it takes patience and hard work to take it all off and keep it off. Yet, the results are worth it – a healthier, more confident and attractive you in the spring of 2017.
