Ways to Improve Curb Appeal
Boardwalk 3 Space : H: 7.5 x .9275 2.9575

REAL ESTATE
Homeowners who want their homes to make strong first impressions must prioritize curb appeal. Homes with strong curb appeal sell well and can have a welcoming feel to all visitors. Improving curb appeal need not be expensive, and the following are a handful of ways to improve the appearance of your home. 1. Install a bold-looking door in a vibrant color or one with a custom design. This helps the home stand out from other properties in the neighborhood.

2. Edge the driveway to create a distinct border between the driveway and the lawn or other landscaping features. This helps homes appear neat and well kept. 3. Use outdoor lighting to make a home more inviting. Outdoor lighting also makes properties safer at night.
Jamie Pedersen 680-1239

4. Clean a home’s exterior to remove mildew or discolorations from the siding, driveway, patio, and other outdoor elements. 5. Improve landscapes with fresh plants and seasonal color. Homeowners without the time to plant can consider container gardens, which don’t take much time to assemble but still add appeal to a home’s exterior. 6. Prune planting beds and add new mulch to restore color.

7. Add shutters and accent trim to a home’s exterior to improve on the beauty of the house. 8. Install new fencing or give a fresh coat of paint or stain to an existing fence. 9. Replace concrete paths with tile or stone walkways to make entry ways more impressive and inviting.

Tackle Spring Cleaning with the Environment In Mind Spring is a time of year when many people resolve to give their homes or apartments a thorough cleaning. Spring cleaning projects help people revitalize their homes for the warm months ahead, when windows are once again opened, fresh air pervades homes and items that might have accumulated over a dark and dreary winter have become a distant memory. Many families have spring cleaning rituals that allow them to efficiently clean their homes in a single weekend. But it’s just as important for spring cleaners to place as great an emphasis on the environment as they do on efficiency when cleaning a home. Eco-friendly spring cleaning practices produce less waste and rely on less chemicals to rejuvenate a home and get it ready for those seasons when huddling inside under the covers takes a backseat to lounging around the house as fresh air washes into the home. The following are a handful of ways to efficiently clean a home while also protecting the environment. • Clear out the clutter. Clutter is an enemy to homeowners and the environment alike. That’s because addressing clutter is often an inefficient process in which homeowners methodically go through items that have accumulated over the years, individually choosing which items to keep and which items to discard. Clutter can also prove harmful to the environment because rooms filled with clutter tend to collect dust, reducing air quality and leading to more indoor air pollution that can prove harmful to human health. When sifting through clutter in a home, discard those items that have gone ignored for years, as they
likely have little or no financial value and it’s safe to assume they serve no practical purpose as well. Once clutter has been cleared out, prevent more of it from accumulating by making a conscious effort to discard items once they no longer serve any practical purpose. This includes old newspapers and magazines, as well as any other items that are likely to sit in a pile or on a shelf for months on end. Preventing the buildup of clutter reduces the amount of time you need to spend spring cleaning next year while also improving indoor air quality. • Use cleaners only when windows are open. Many people get a head start on spring cleaning in late winter, when the weather might have started to warm up but has not yet warmed to the point when windows throughout the home can be opened. Though there’s nothing wrong with starting early, avoid using cleaning products on days when you can’t open the windows. Many cleaning products contain ample or even just trace amounts of chemicals that can compromise indoor air quality and may exacerbate existing medical conditions like respiratory ailments. When using cleaning products, try to do so only when the windows are open and fresh air can enter the home. • ensure appliances are working at peak efficiency. Spring cleaning is a great time to inspect appliances to make sure they are operating efficiently. Clean or replace filters on window air conditioning units. Dusty or dirty filters will force the air conditioner to work harder and use more energy to cool a room. In addition, dirty or dusty filters make
units less efficient, which means rooms won’t cool as quickly on those scorching summer afternoons. Appliances forced to work harder also cost more money, and those costs can be considerable. When checking appliances, be sure to check the refrigerator as well. Refrigerators are plugged in all day long, and those that are not operating at peak efficiency can cost you a lot of money in the long run. Periodically clean the coils on the back of your refrigerator so it can operate more efficiently, saving energy and money. Vacuum cleaners should also be inspected before each use to make sure reels are not covered in hair, which can make it nearly impossible for the machine to collect dirt and dust from the floors. • Use reusable cloths. Another way to turn spring cleaning into a more ecofriendly affair is to forgo using paper towels in favor of reusable cloths. Reusable wash cloths can be just as effective at wiping down counters as paper towels, which require more and more trees to be cut down and eventually end up in landfills. If you are feeling especially eco-friendly, you can go the extra mile and create your own reusable cleaning cloths out of old clothes or linens, saving you money and making use of items that might otherwise have been headed straight for a landfill. Spring cleaning can rejuvenate a home after a long winter. Emphasizing eco-friendly techniques when cleaning can ensure your home’s revival is as beneficial to the environment as it is to the home’s inhabitants.

Spring Guide to Few things are anticipated more in spring than the arrival of new leaves on the trees and budding flowers in the garden. A landscape washed with fresh colors can brighten the spirit and make anyone want to head outdoors. There are many different plants that begin to show their colors in the spring. A number of perennials, annuals and trees begin to flower or show new sprouts come the springtime. Here are some plants that can be planted for springtime enjoyment.
Annuals
Looking for first signs of color? Look no further than these wonderful annuals. • alyssum: Starting in April, this cascading bounty of tiny flowers offers a sweet aroma that attracts butterflies. • Dianthus: These vivid flowers also attract butterflies and are often a cottage garden staple. • Gypsophila: Also known as baby’s breath, these delicate flowers can serve as filler in any landscape. Pink and white varieties are available. • impatiens: One of the best-known plants for the garden, these annuals come in scores of colors and can generally tolerate full sun to full shade. • larkspur: Belonging to the buttercup family, these flowers bloom in shades
of white to violet. • Pansy: These flowers are some of the earliest spring bloomers, arriving alongside spring bulbs like tulips. • Petunias: Petunias put on a show of color through the entire season, making them a popular bedding flower.
Perennials
These plants will come back year after year and offer spring shows. • Cherry blossom: The flowers that sprout on cherry trees are some of the first signs of spring. Their pink or white buds are often a spectacle, so much so that towns and cities hold cherry blossom festivals. • Columbine: These beautiful blooms attract butterflies and can be a nice part
of a garden bed. • Jacob’s ladder: Variegated foliage that is dappled with violet-colored flowers can add a sweet smell and visual interest to the garden. • Primrose: These flowers come in a variety of shades, making them versatile in any garden. They also tend to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. • Sweet violet: These fragrant flowers are edible as well as attractive. These plants can self-plant, so unless a gardener wants them to spread, they should be kept contained

From Passover to Easter by Kevin Bennett
Nobody knows what day Easter is. Okay, that’s an over-statement: SOME people know when Easter is. Like, Rabbis and calendar makers. They have to. But for most of us, Easter is harder to get our heads around than daylight saving’s time, and for good reason. The holiday which today we celebrate as Easter started as Passover in Israel. When God delivered the Israelites from the Egyptians, he had them kill a lamb and paint the blood of that lamb on their doorpost, so that when His Spirit passed over the land of Egypt, His chosen people were spared from His judgement. So Passover became a celebration of Israel’s freedom from bondage. It took place in the month of Nissan, which was then the 7th month of the year when Israel was freed from Egypt; but because of that freedom, Nissan then changed to the first month of the year on the Hebrew calendar, and Tishri the seventh. So there is a lot of confusion about the Hebrew calendar, because even scholars make this easy mistake. Furthermore, the Jewish calendar doesn’t precisely match either the Julian or Gregorian calendars, on which the fabric of modern society has revolved for the last several hundred years. The Hebrew Calendar overlaps these; such that Nissan takes place between March and April; specifically:
on a Sunday between March 22nd and April 25th, Gregorian. Now Christ was crucified at the very beginning of the Passover celebration, and resurrected in the middle, on the 17th of Nissan, a Sunday. Jewish Christians then began to celebrate Passover with Christ in mind. Indeed, the scriptures are prophetic on this subject; the very makeup of Passover—the sacrificial lamb, blood of the lamb on doorposts allowing salvation, etc.—concerns Christ’s death and resurrection. Passover scripture is messianic prophecy. So it makes sense Christians would begin implementing such an understanding after the death and resurrection of the Christ. To understand how this relates to Easter, imagine a world where Christianity was spreading like wildfire, and politically it was becoming something Rome had to address. On the one hand were locals that kept pagan traditions on regularly, and on the other these Christians who accept everybody, and were changing society from the inside out. It became unpopular in Rome to persecute the Christians. What did Roman emperor Constantine do? He made Christ the banner of Rome, and Roman Catholicism was born. But what about the extant pagans still making up a good portion of the population? They also had rituals in strict opposition to those
of the politically relevant Christians! So Rome incorporated the principles of “Ishtar” or “Oester”, Pagan deities, into the Christian celebration of Christ’s resurrection, and now we’ve got bunnies laying multicolored chocolate eggs all over the place to add to the confusion of when the holiday is to begin with. ∑
Celebrate with us
Easter Sunday 04.20.14
Everybody wonders: why do we celebrate the death and resurrection of Christ, God in human form, with a bunch of chocolate filled neon eggs crapped out an anthropomorphic bunny and hidden through the yard? What does this have to do with salvation? Is the egg like the tomb, and Jesus like the chocolate? Yummy, chocolate Jesus for the soul? Is the bunny God, plopping out flowerpower eggs and hopping away? I don’t understand these metaphors! And where in the world does the name “Easter” even come from? It isn’t in the Bible. Well… it is once; but the word translated in the KJV “Easter” is from the Greek word “Pascha”, which directly derives from Campbell County Fire Training Center the Hebrew word “Pesach”, and means Passover. So where in the world did the

The Season for the Reason by Kevin Bennett
In Israel a certain holiday commemorates the freedom of Hebrew slaves from Egyptian taskmasters. This holiday coincides with spring in most places, and so there are some who attribute the Jewish tradition to a cultural celebration of changing seasons. While this may be an aspect of Passover, for so the holiday is called, it is at best a detail. The history of Passover precedes the nation of Israel, and extends into and beyond the tradition surrounding the Western world’s Easter celebrations. Rebirth is indeed a theme of the Passover, but could it be that it is not Passover which echoes the season, but the season which echoes Passover? There is a great flood in scripture, through which God delivers Noah and his family. After the better part of a year cooped up in a boat, they land in the mountains of Ararat “on the seventeenth day of the seventh month” (Genesis 8:4). At this time, before Israel’s captivity in Egypt, that month was Nissan. After Israel’s release, Nissan became the first month of the year, and Tishri the seventh. In Jewish tradition, Passover starts in the evening of the 14th of Nissan, and ends the 21st. That evening of the fourteenth of Nissan was the “Passover lamb”, a lamb without blemish, slain and eaten in haste as per Passover tradition. Those who know their Jewish history will remember Passover directly commemorates Jehovah’s Passing Over of Egypt the night Israel was released from bondage, and the death of all the firstborn in Egypt who did not have blood of the lamb on the posts of their doors. The 17th of Nissan, then, is three days later. This is also the day Christ rose from the dead, according to the New Testament. Jesus rose again on the exact (Continues on facing page)

anniversary of God’s preservation of Noah hundreds of years before. What a testament to the precision of our creator! At this time in Israel, the Jewish people celebrated Passover around the time Westerners today celebrate Easter. But soon Jewish Christians began to celebrate Passover with Christ directly in mind. As the influence of Christianity spread through the Mediterranean, the hand of God infiltrated Rome, and under Constantine, Christianity was brought officially to the world. There were many non-Christian sects who had springtime festivals that took place near the time of Passover; many of which revolved around fertility rights and other Pagan rituals. The government of Constantine, in conjunction with factions of the population, began to incorporate aspects of these Pagan rituals into the Passover/Resurrection celebrations of the new Church, in order for the Christian transition to be peaceful. Easter eggs, and the term “Easter” itself, are testaments to this incorporation; but they have nothing to do with either Passover or the Resurrection of Christ, on which the holiday is truly based; they are later additions. Yet the reason for the season, as it were, is the Passover celebration, and the death and Resurrection of Christ; two things which historically hearken back directly to the flood of Noah, whose ending was the 17th of Nissan; the selfsame date Christ rose from the dead. It is for this reason that the day in which we celebrate the tradition of Easter jumps around from year to year; it is based on the Jewish calendar, not our Gregorian one. So this year, on April 20th, 2014, don’t just suck down a handful of Cadbury eggs and have a potluck, remember that this day—this very day!—is the day Christ rose again; the day God delivered Noah, and a true historical anniversary of spiritual and physical rebirth. Easter and Passover, you see, don’t celebrate spring. They celebrate God, and his deliverance. The season exists for the reason of God. ∑

The Lesser Known Benefits of Cardiovascular Exercise Active people tend to have varying views on cardiovascular exercise, or cardio. Often done at the end of a workout, cardio rarely evokes a staid response from fitness afficionados asked to share their thoughts on this valuable type of exercise. Fans of cardio will admit they love the feeling they get during and after a rigorous round of this type of exercise, which includes activities like running, cycling and walking. But those men and women who dread their time on the treadmill, elliptical machine or stationary bike are likely to categorize cardio as a boring and uninspiring activity. But regardless of a person’s opinion on cardio, there’s no denying it offers numerous benefits, many of which even avid athletes might be unaware. * Cardio boosts brain power. Perhaps the least known benefit of cardio is its positive impact on the brain. During cardiovascular exercise, the brain is being flooded with chemicals that improve decision making, memory and problem solving. Cardio can also help preserve memory and improve its ability to learn. So while the physical benefits of exercise are widely known and noticeable to the naked eye, cardiovascular exercise can be just as effective at improving cognitive function. * Cardio can improve your appearance. Improving physical appearance is a motivating factor for many physically active men and women, and cardio can go a long way toward improving physical appearance because it increases lean body tissue while reducing fat. Cardiovascular exercise is a healthy way to burn calories, and burning calories is a healthy means to losing weight. * Cardio can help reduce the severity of preexisting conditions. Arthritis sufferers have long looked to cardiovascular exercise as a healthy means to relieving the pain caused by their condition. Water exercises like swimming make for great cardiovascular exercises,
especially for those looking to relieve arthritis pain. That’s because an exercise such as swimming keeps joints moving while strengthening muscles surrounding those joints. Studies have shown that cardiovascular exercise also can lower blood pressure. * Cardio can improve mood. Cardiovascular exercise can benefit men and women suffering from depression or those who are simply having a bad day. That’s because the mood-boosting chemical serotonin is released to the brain during cardio, helping to improve mood and alleviate symptoms of depression or fatigue. * Cardio can make tomorrow’s workout easier. Recovery time is important to athletes, many of whom want to ensure their bodies are ready for tomorrow’s workout even before they finish today’s. Cardiovascular exercise helps to deliver more oxygen-rich blood to muscle tissue, aiding in tissue repair and recovery. The quicker your body can rebound from today’s workout, the more effective tomorrow’s workout will be. So even if you don’t enjoy that pit stop at the treadmill before you head home, it’s paying more dividends than you might know.

Vanilla orange Furniture Polish Bottle with lid 1 cup of light olive oil 1 medium sized orange Vanilla extract or dried vanilla bean 1. Begin by pouring the olive oil into your bottle. 2. Cut your orange into quarters. Squeeze the juice into a bowl and set the peels aside. You can then use a funnel to pour the orange juice into the bottle. 3. Take your orange peels and slice them into long strips. Add them to the bottle, pressing them down so they are fully submerged in the oil. 4. Finally, add 2-3 drops of vanilla extract or 1 teaspoon of dried and crushed vanilla bean. 5. Allow the mixture to sit anywhere from a few hours to a few days. The longer you allow it to sit, the longer the oils in the peels will have to release.
Dishwasher Soap 1 cup borax 1 cup washing soda 1/2 cup citric acid 1/2 cup of kosher salt as a scrubbing agent. Use vinegar as your rinsing agent. Citric acid can be found in most grocery stores next to the canning supplies. Mix, pour into a container, and enjoy!
Tub, Tile & Grout Cleaner 1/2 cup baking soda 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide 1 teaspoon liquid dish soap Simply mix together the baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap in a small squeezetop container. Easy Ways to Boost Home Value Though the housing market might not be booming, there are still buyers out there looking for a place to call their own. Some potential sellers might prefer a patient approach to selling their homes, choosing to do so when the market rebounds and homes regain some of their lost value. Other sellers might not have a choice and must make due with selling in a lackluster market. Regardless of which category you’re in, there are easy ways to boost your home’s value. Making minor changes to a home can add to your asking price, whether you’re putting your home on the market this week or waiting for the market to rebound. The following tasks might not take much effort, but they pay dividends. • Work on the yard. An appealing lawn is still a great way to catch a prospective buyer’s eye. When a home boasts a lush lawn and well-manicured trees, it’s hard to ignore that For Sale sign out front. If landscaping has proven an Achilles’ heel in the past, make an effort to take better care of your property in the months
buyers won’t be thrilled if they walk into a home and see outdated appliances. Some might even feel older appliances indicate a homeowner who cared little about appearances and might begin to wonder if there are any additional areas that might have been neglected around the house. Stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and even new fixtures in the bathroom are aesthetically appealing and tend to excite buyers. Homeowners who aren’t
immediately putting their property up for sale can gradually upgrade their appliances to lessen some of the financial toll such purchases take. • Replace the carpet. A clean carpet might make a world of difference to a home’s inhabitants, but a new carpet ahead. It doesn’t take long for even will be more appealing to prospective the most neglected lawn to rebound buyers. Choose a neutral-toned carpet from disrepair. By the time you feel that will boast a more universal appeal. confident to put that for sale sign out front, you might just be putting it up in • Paint the home. A fresh coat of paint or new siding is always attractive a lush lawn no buyer can resist. to prospective buyers. If your home • Upgrade appliances. Prospective
hasn’t had a new coat of paint in awhile that might make buyers feel the home is musty or old. Many buyers judge a book by its cover, and sellers want their home’s exterior to be as attractive as possible. Homeowners can also paint rooms inside the home to give it a fresh and welcoming feel. • Clean up around the house. A cluttered house will almost certainly repel buyers. Buyers want a home that’s roomy and well kept, but clutter creates the opposite impression. Organize the closets to make them appear more roomy and clean up any areas that have become cluttered -consider temporarily renting a storage unit to house excess stuff from closets. Basements or utility closets might be handy for storage, but they should be open and clean before hosting an open house. The less clutter a home has, the more spacious it will appear and the more money sellers can likely demand for the home.

Things To Consider Before Downsizing your Home Once their kids have left the nest, many men and women over 50 begin to consider downsizing their homes. Downsizing to a smaller home can be beneficial for a variety of reasons, including less home to clean and maintain, more affordable utility bills and lower property taxes. But the decision to downsize is rarely black and white, and men and women often struggle with that decision.
cost of such furnishings can be considerable. If you plan to move into a condominium, you can expect to pay monthly homeowners association fees, and such fees are often substantial. So while the condo itself might be smaller, the additional expenses associated with the property may end up making the smaller home more expensive and preventyou from saving more money for retirement.
Perhaps the most difficult part of the decision of whether or not to downsize to a smaller home concerns the sentimental attachment many homeowners, especially those with children, have to their homes. The home might be too big for your current needs, but it also was the same place where your son took his first steps and where your daughter lost her first tooth. Saying goodbye to a place that was home to so many memories isn’t easy. But there’s more than just sentimental value to consider when deciding whether or not to downsize your home after the kids have grown up and moved out.
Real estate Market
Personal Finances Your financial situation merits significant consideration when deciding if the time is right to downsize your home. If your retirement nest egg is not as substantial as you would like it to be, then it would seem as though downsizing to a smaller, more affordable home is a great opportunity for you to start catching up on your retirement savings. But that’s only true if your new home won’t incur any additional expenses that are already taken care of in your current home. For example, your current home may be fully furnished, while a new, smaller home may require you to buy all new furniture because your existing items simply won’t fit. The
There are seller’s markets and there are buyer’s markets, and ideally you would like to sell your home in a seller’s market. But keep in mind that this might be the same market in which you hope to buy a new home. The nature of the real estate market depends on a host of factors, including geography. If the city or town where you currently live is in the midst of a seller’s market and you are planning on moving to a location where buyers have the upper hand, then now might be a great time to move. But if you currently live in a buyer’s market and hope to move to a seller’s market, then you may end up paying a steep price, even when downsizing to a smaller home. Things may even themselves out if you want to downsize to a smaller home within your current community, but do your homework nonetheless, researching the time of year when you’re most likely to get the most for your home and find the best deal on your next place. The advantage men and women considering downsizing haveis that they are rarely in a rush to move out of their current home and
into their next one. This gives them ample time to make the real estate market work for them. Space How much space do you really need? Once the kids have moved out, couples may feel like all of that extra space is going to waste. But that can be a knee-jerk reaction, and upon a more thorough examination of the space and your needs you may just find that you can put all of that extra square footage to good use after all. If you have always wanted your own art studio, then now might be the perfect time to make that a reality. Always wanted a room devoted to home theater? Get to work on converting your basement from an all-purpose game room to your own private movie theater. If, after considering the space in your home, you find that the extra square footage really is just upkeep you aren’t especially interested in doing, then you would no doubt like a cozier home that’s less of a responsibility to maintain. Downsizing a home is something many men and women over 50 consider after their children have moved out. Such a decision is rarely easy, so homeowners should take as much time as they need before making a final decision to move or stay put.

EVERYONE HAS A STORY
Excerpt from Images of America Gillette ~ Mary Kelley ~
Photos Courtesy of Campbell County Rockpile Museum
The first church built in Gillette was the First Baptist Church. The pastor in 1912 was Reverend C. W. Harris who was involved in a civic movement to run some unsavory characters out of town which had given Gillette the reputation of the toughest place in Wyoming. This unusual grave marker is for Nels Martin, a Swedish immigrant who moved to the United States in 1869. One of the first jobs he had was freighting lumber into Gillette for the Daly brothers to build a store. He filed on a homestead west of Gillette but lost the land and his cabin in a Sheriff ’s sale to pay his gambling debts. He passed away in July of 1937.
Bunk Haynes, pictured far right, was a black man. He was raised by a white family in Texas and moved to Wyoming after the Civil War “where even women were treated as equals.” Bunk homesteaded 480 acres on Donkey Creek south and east of Gillette. He was a good cook and a very neat housekeeper. Those who knew him said his epitaph should read, “Yes, he was black, but he was the whitest man ever rode the range!” Diamond L. Slim, who’s real name was W. C. Clifton, was infamous for the murder in
1903 of a young married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Church. Diamond L. Slim was arrested after he tried to sell some of the jewelry belonging to Mrs. Church. Deputy Sheriff Lew Jenne secured a confession from Slim and the location of the bodies. The posse then put the rope around his neck and tossed him over the bridge. George Amos was the foreman of the Keeline’s 4-J Ranch in the early 1880s. He never wore a gun, nor boots and he never married. He swore, drank and gambled. In his will, he left “$1,000.00 to Guy “Bum-aNickle” Garrett, who had loaned him money but never asked him to pay it back. Thomas LeRoy “Roy” Montgomery was arrested in 1915 in Wyoming for white slavery. He served a two-year term at Leavenworth, Kansas where he had this photo taken showing his best side. He served as Mayor of Gillette from 1914-1915 and again from 19361944. “Gillette is the best town of its size or any other size in the state,” Roy Montgomery said in 1947. He should know – he was unique in his involvement in Gillette. He was admitted to the bar in Kansas but never entered the legal profession. One record of his life indicated “his knowledge of law has been of immense value to him in the conduct of his business affairs.” The Pea Green was Gillette’s brothel, owned by Roy Montgomery. His involvement with
Present Day Montgomery Bar his ownership of a brothel but for being a Democrat. Montgomery was one of the foremost cattle and horse ranchers in Campbell County and was also the proprietor of the Montgomery Hotel for five years. In 1917, upon his return from Leavenworth, he opened the Gillette Hotel (formerly the Pea Green!). Montgomery also had extensive investments in oil lands that provided him income later in his life. Known affectionately as “Mexican John”, John Marroquin came to Wyoming in 1877. He worked “doggies” on several ranches, staying with the Keelines for most of the time. When the Keelines sold the ranch, Mexican John continued to make the ranch his home until his death in 1946. He was considered one of the best ropers in the area. It seems the West attracted some real
characters; or maybe regular “joes” could be someone else in the wide, open spaces. Unique names found during research were Holdout Johnson, Every Day Johnson, Lame Smithy, Long Shorty, Shakey Ed Kelley, Booster Jim, Red O’Neil, Woodbox Jim, Kid Highly, Rattlesnake Jack, Coyote Bill, Scrub Lime Green Brothel Peeler, and Bum-a-Nickel Garrett. The photo above of a relatively normal looking cowboy is of Pecos Johnny the Pea Green led to his arrest for white slavery Allison who would be one of the founders of in 1915. Montgomery also owned the Gillette Stockman’s Bank and serve two terms in the News from 1912 to 1916. In his newspaper, House of Representatives. ∑ he declared he was being persecuted not for
