A: Many people think that remodeling the kitchen is an expense they can fully recoup (in terms of home value or resale value), but that is not necessarily the case. According to Remodeling Magazine, which puts out a Cost vs. Value chart each year on home remodeling, a major kitchen remodel averaging $56,768 will recoup 67.8 percent of that cost, or just $38,485. However, a number of indoor and outdoor projects will increase the value of your home. Here are five projects on the midrange cost scale that will provide the biggest return for your remodeling investment: 1. SIMPLIFY VACATIONS AND SAVOR THE FUN HouseHunterWY.com

June

Vacations don’t have to be taxing. Cut down on some of the stressful aspects of traveling by simplifying and delegating tasks.

Vacations are a great opportunity for families or individuals to recharge. But especially active vacationers often return from their trips in need of rest, as planning may have taken its toll or schedules loaded with too many activities might have left little time for R&R. Those willing to simplify their vacations may find their excursions provide the rest they need and the energizing boost they can make use of upon returning from their destinations.

Leave Work Behind The United States is one of the few countries that does not guarantee paid days off. The Center for Economic and Policy Research says one in four working Americans do not get paid time off. The employment site Glassdoor notes that among those who do get paid vacations, 75 percent of employees chose not to use all of their time in 2013. By comparison, Canadians get an average of 19 days of vacation time per year. Stress about making up work or falling behind makes some professionals worry about using their vacation time, and those who do travel may stay connected to the office in some shape or form. Splitting time between leisure and work responsibilities on a vacation can be taxing and take away from the time you need to relax and recharge. Cut work ties and immerse yourself in the vacation experience.

Use A Travel Agent Using a travel agent to plan your vacation can remove any stress and anxiety you may feel when planning a trip and juggling the responsibilities of everyday life. Many people choose to book their own trips as a cost-cutting measure. What they don’t realize is that travel agents may be privy to special deals and perks they can pass on to customers. These agents also know the ins and outs of certain resorts and locales. Leaving the legwork in their accomplished hands means all you have to do is show up with your reservations instead of pouring over the minutiae of planning.

Consider An All-Inclusive Trip All-inclusive resorts and cruise lines take the work out of having a good time. These types of vacations remove a lot of the problems associated with personal travel. Meals are provided, activities are coordinated, and you don’t have to carry extra cash, as most costs

generally are covered.

Keep Your Itinerary Flexible Scheduling right down to the minute can remove the fun of the trip. Leave opportunities to just sit and enjoy your surroundings. Perhaps other members of the family or traveling party have their own ideas for entertainment. A rigid timeline can make the vacation seem more like a commitment rather than an opportunity to let loose and stop watching the clock.

Rent A Car Find out if a rental car can be included in the price of your vacation. Having a car at the ready means vacationers can come and go as they please without worrying about hailing taxis or waiting for public transportation. Rental cars also provide access to areas outside of resort confines. Research possible destinations in advance and map out where you want to go to remain safe and prepared.

TIPS FOR USING PET FRIENDLY HOTELS

hood that a lost pet will be returned to you while on vacation. Many pet owners choose to have microchips inserted into their pets. This small chip contains identification data and contact information, which should be kept current. Animal control officers often scan stray animals for microchips to help reunite pets with their owners. The American Kennel Club recommends pet owners always travel with current photographs of their pets, which will help others identify pets if they become lost. Store photos on a mobile phone or another device.

Boarding your furry friend can be expensive. Sometimes, pet friendly hotels are a great alternative solution. Traveling with pets has become much more commonplace than it used to be. Rather than leaving cats and dogs home or in the care of others, many pet owners now take their favorite companions on the road.

duration. Deposits may be nonrefundable. Verify the hotel’s requirements before booking. · Maintain up-to-date health records. Hotels may require copies of medical files or immunization records to verify a pet is safe and healthy enough to stay at the hotel. Prior to going on vacation, schedule a veterinarian visit to make sure your pet is current on its shots and is in good health.

· Pack familiar items. Dogs and cats will feel more comfortable with their favorite toys, blankets and other items that smell like home. Be Safe This Summer - Tips For Summer Health And Safety

Summer is often marked by vacations, recreational events and relaxing moments spent by the pool or on the beach. But when the weather heats up, so can potential health hazards that can ruin all of the fun. The following are some of the more common summertime ailments and how to avoid them. · Lawn and garden injuries: Lawn and garden injuries may not be common, but men, women and children should exercise caution when using lawn and garden equipment. Wear protective shoes and gloves and safety goggles. Remember to turn off any motorized tools before attempting to repair or unclog the blades. · Swimmer’s ear: Water that remains in the ear canal after swimming can make the ear a breeding ground for swimmer’s ear, which is a bacterial infection. If water remains in your ear for more than one night, visit an ear,

nose and throat specialist. Insect bites and stings: Insects return when temperatures rise. Mosquitoes may be the biggest nuisance, but biting flies and wasps also make formidable foes. Use insect repellent to keep the bugs away. Wear long pants and check for ticks after hiking. · Boating accidents: Many boating accidents can be attributed to inexperience with the vessel and failure to take proper safety precautions on the water. Make sure everyone on the boat wears a life jacket, and follow proper boating protocol throughout your trip. · Dehydration: The body needs extra water on hot days, especially when spending ample time outdoors. Dehydration can cause dizziness and dry mouth and may make you feel faint. Always drink plenty of water and avoid alcoholic beverages and soft drinks, which can contribute to dehydration when consumed in excess.

FIREFLY FACT

Fireflies are often seen lighting up the night sky on warm evenings. They are particularly abundant during the summer months. One reason that fireflies glow is to attract mates. Males will flash, and females will respond to mates they find interesting. Fireflies also may glow to avoid predators. The luciferase enzyme in firefly cells causes a chemical reaction that stimulates light, a phenomenon called bioluminescence. Fireflies are filled with lucibufagins, a poor-tasting chemical that turns off predators from attacking the blinking bug. Some fireflies cannot light up at all and use pheromones to attract mates. Fireflies can be fun to catch and release and also beneficial to have around. In the larval stage, fireflies will eat destructive insects. Adult fireflies may feed on nectar and could help to pollinate plants. Despite their name, fireflies aren’t really flies. They actually are a type of beetle. Fireflies are difficult to spot during the day because they’re often resting on leaves or plants. It’s only at night when their brilliant light show comes alive.

Top 5 Home Upgrades --Q: What upgrades to our house will pay off the most in the long run? -- Karl V., Melrose, Massachusetts A: Many people think that remodeling the kitchen is an expense they can fully recoup (in terms of home value or resale value), but that is not necessarily the case. Entry door: Replacing your entry door with a steel door will recoup 101.8 percent of the cost. (Replacing it with a fiberglass door will return 72 percent.) 2. Veneer: Replacing the bottom third of your home’s exterior siding with manufactured stone veneer will recoup 92.2 percent of the cost. 3. Garage door: Replacing your garage door will recoup 88.4 percent of the cost. 4. Siding replacement: Adding vinyl siding to your home’s exterior will recoup 80.7 percent of the cost. 5. Wooden deck: Adding or expanding a wooden deck will recoup 80.5 percent of the cost. Other projects that have a higher chance of recouping their cost include a minor (below $20,000) kitchen remodel (79.3 percent), wood window replacement (78.8 percent) or converting part of your attic to a bedroom (77.2 percent). Remodeling your bathroom will recoup 70 percent of its cost. So, when putting together a remodeling project list, take their lasting value into account. You may decide to downscale that ambitious kitchen or bathroom remodel and shift some of the budget to your home’s exterior elements.

They’ll soak it up, and you won’t have to have someone come over and water your plants. Instead of opting for takeout food, set up an alternate kitchen to save money. A microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot and a small dorm-style fridge can take care of a lot of your needs in the short term. * Planning on putting in some new plants or sprucing up your garden this spring? Hard Flooring: J e n n y ’s Q u e s t

June

By: Kevin Bennett

Jenny’s teenage boys liked to work out. They were on the football team at school, and afterwards worked the ranch with their father. There was a lot of energy there, a lot of angst. Any time they weren’t doing sports or tending livestock, you could find them in the rec room doing butterflies with thick dumbbells Jenny could hardly lift on her own. The thing was, they would often push themselves too hard, and sometimes drop the dumbbells. Some of those confounded weights were in excess of forty pounds! The flooring in that room was absolutely ruined; even through the rugs and rubber mats she had placed all over the space. So Jenny had a conundrum: the boys needed their workout area, but the floor just couldn’t handle it.

Apparently Eureka heard her name at that point, because suddenly Jenny had an idea. Getting on the internet, she searched for which flooring solutions were the most durable. In the Home Renovations section of about.com, she found a list of the most resilient flooring options for houses. At the top of the list was of course concrete, but what kind of selfrespecting woman was going to contend for an indoor parking lot? Next on the list was natural stone—aesthetic, but logistically impossible. But then there was sheet vinyl flooring and tile, and beyond that

laminate flooring, hardwood flooring, and engineered wood flooring. They all had their own pros and cons. The hardwood and the engineered wood would scratch; but you could sand the hardwood, and there were always throwrugs for the engineered options. Laminate flooring was waterproof, but that just wasn’t what Jenny needed for Biff and Tango—those were her teenagers. The vinyl, however… That seemed like just the thing for Jenny’s boys. But how can anybody be sure just from an internet article? Jenny had her plan of attack, but she needed well-informed, customerfriendly salespeople to help her make a decision in a cost-effective, timely manner. Surely there couldn’t be anywhere like that around Gillette Wyoming! Lady Eureka wasn’t done with inspiration though, and a pop-up ad showed Jenny a link to Carpet Express Direct of Gillette. The banner on the website said: “The Next Best Thing to Wholesale in Northeastern Wyoming”, and right on the left there was a listing of every flooring option Jenny could imagine. Even a few she hadn’t considered, like Luxury Vinyl Tile—and there was even a Rubber Flooring option. Now there’s something About.com said nothing about! That would be a perfect fit for the rec room! Biff and Tango could slam those dumbbells to their hearts’ content and the house wouldn’t know any better! And while Jenny was at it, she had noticed some excellent deals in the Red Hot Specials section, like New Mexico White Sand for just $1.99/sq. foot, or the seductively colored Newbury Meri at the same price. Shoot, they could refurbish the whole house and keep it under budget. Now she just had to talk her husband Mongo into it, and the floor was as good as saved! Thankfully, Carpet Express Direct had a variety of flooring options and pricing easily perusable on the internet, and a nearby location to check out how it all looked in the real world. You too can save your floors from the likes of Biff and Tango. From carpet to laminate, and everything in between, Carpet Express Direct of Gillette has got your back! …And your floor! Mostly your floor. Drop in today, or check out their website at carpetexpressdirect.com—it’s just a click away!

Great Gifts For Dear Old Dad

2015

HouseHunterWY.com

ballpark with his kids and/or grandkids. For a father who no longer lives in the market where his teams play, consider purchasing a streaming service or television package that allows the old man to see his favorite team no matter where he’s living.

Father ’s Day is right around the corner, and the time has come once again to begin searching for a gift for dear old dad. Father ’s Day gift shoppers have long since abandoned the notion that a new necktie is what dad really wants, but finding a gift that expresses your love and appreciation for the old man can still prove somewhat challenging. Oftentimes, the best gifts are the ones that fulfill a need or want, and Father ’s Day gifts are no exception. The following are a handful of Father ’s Day gift ideas for dads whose hobbies run the gamut. The Sports Nut Dads who can’t get enough of their favorite teams would no doubt appreciate some new gear or even tickets to see their favorite teams play. If you opt to buy tickets to a ballgame, make it a family affair, as dad would no doubt appreciate an afternoon at the

The Movie Mogul Some dads simply can’t get enough of the silver screen, and a streaming service that allows dad to watch many of his favorite movies on demand from the comforts of home might make the perfect gifts for film-loving fathers. Services like Netflix and Amazon Prime offer hundreds of titles, and monthly or yearly subscriptions cost relatively little money.

The Outdoorsman Fathers who love the great outdoors might appreciate some new camping gear, a new fishing pole or even some comfortable hiking boots. When shopping for the outdoorsman in your life, consider which outdoor activity is his favorite (i.e., boating, fishing, kayaking, etc.) and try to find the latest useful gadget or newest product made for such enthusiasts. If you don’t share the same passion for the great outdoors and are hesitant to buy something you’re unsure about, a gift certificate

Page 21

to an outdoorsman or sporting goods store will suffice.

The Doting Grandfather Some men simply want to spend more time with family, especially grandfathers who never tire of afternoons with their grandchildren. If dad has retired and moved away, a trip to see his grandkids might make the ideal gift this Father ’s Day. Arrange the dates with mom so you are not surprising dad with a trip at a time when he already has plans, and make sure to schedule some fun activities for those days when dad is in town. Father ’s Day is a time each year when dads are told how much they are loved and appreciated. This year, a gift that implies both those sentiments is sure to make dad smile.

How To Sleep Better At Night

increasing the chance that you will get a more restful night’s sleep. Relaxing ways to unwind before climbing into bed to fall asleep including reading a book, listening to calming music or taking a warm bath. Once you find something that works, stick with it.

The National Sleep Foundation notes that adults between the ages of 26 and 64 need an average of seven to nine hours of sleep per night. Such a sleep schedule may be ideal, but many adults juggling work and family find it difficult to get seven hours of sleep per night, much less eight or nine. While there may not be any way for adults to get more sack time at night, there are ways for men and women to get a better night’s rest so they can approach each day with as much energy as possible. • Stick to a schedule. Keeping a sporadic sleeping schedule can make it difficult to get the kind of restorative sleep that can help you maintain adequate energy levels throughout the day. To ensure you get a better night’s sleep, go to sleep at the same time each night and wake up at the same time each day. Try to stay true to your sleep schedule on weekends, resisting the temptation to sleep in later

or stay up late on Friday and Saturday nights. • Nap effectively. Men and women who have the time to sneak in a nap may find that napping is a more effective way to make up for inadequate sleep than sleeping in late in the morning. Effective napping allows men and women to recharge without affecting their ability to fall asleep at night. Napping in the early afternoon and keeping nap time to between 20 and 30 minutes can provide the energy boost you need and help you make it through the after-dinner hours without feeling drowsy. Such drowsiness can lead to post-dinner periods of dozing that can make it difficult to fall asleep come bedtime. • Adopt a nighttime ritual. The NSF notes that a relaxing nighttime ritual that is noticeably different from the hustle and bustle of the rest of your day can help your body adjust for sleep,

• Find time to exercise. Studies have shown that men and women who exercise regularly benefit from more restful nights’ sleep. Finding the right time to exercise is essential, as many people find that exercising right before bed elevates their heart and stimulates their body in ways that make it difficult to fall asleep. Exercising in the early morning can provide more energy throughout the day, and come bedtime your body might be more ready to fall asleep. However, if you find yourself exercising at the expense of your sleep, try to find another time to get your workout in. • Ensure your bedroom is sleepfriendly. The NSF recommends maintaining a relatively cool temperature between 60 and 67 F in your bedroom for sleeping. In addition, eliminate any potential distractions, such as light and noise, that can negatively affect your ability to fall asleep. Humidifiers, eye shades or even machines that generate white noise can effectively counter any distractions that you cannot get rid of on your own. A good night’s sleep is essential to human health. Men and women struggling to get adequate, beneficial sleep can employ a host of strategies to improve their quality of life.

Easy Financial Tips To G e t O n Tr a c k

Money is something that individuals usually need more of but frequently find in short supply.

People worry about money … a lot. According to the YouGov poll for the Institute of Financial Planning and National Savings and Investments in Great Britain, nearly two-thirds of respondents worried about their finances, with 43 percent saying they worried about money “more often than not.” Things aren’t much different in the United States, where a recent survey from Lincoln Financial Group showed that 53 percent of respondents worried about having enough money for retirement. Taking charge of personal finances may seem like a difficult undertaking, but you don’t have to make drastic lifestyle changes to grow your savings. Try these tips to save

more and live a more financiallyconscious life.

• Keep financial records. It’s hard to determine your financial standing if you do not prioritize recordkeeping. Find a method that you can stick with consistently. Some people prefer old-fashioned bookkeeping with pen and paper, while others may like the convenience of software and mobile apps. Having financial matters clearly visible in black and white can show a clear picture of how much money is coming in and how much is being spent. • Explore auto-withdrawal and deposit. Many financial institutions offer several services to customers that can make banking and money management easier. You can set up a savings account and have money automatically deducted from your paycheck and deposited into this

June

account. Even small deposits add up over time. You also can arrange for automatic bill pay so you don’t have to worry about accruing late fees for missed payments. Check with your bank or credit union about these types of services. • Put a change jar in your house. Change might not be popular, but it is money. Having a jar or bucket in a location of the house where you set your wallet or purse may encourage you to save that loose change for something larger. Place loose change in the jar and watch it add up. Some banks have coin-counting machines, which can make it even easier to cash in your change. • Sign up for shop-and-earn programs. Everyone from credit card companies to major retailers offer incentives to repeat customers. These include cash-back or other perks for a percentage of the money spent on purchases. These programs equate to built-in discounts and can help you squirrel away even more money without making a conscious effort. • Consider investing. Investing can put your money to work in exchange for a return. There are many different types of investments available. If you are an investing novice, work with a financial planner or broker who can help you find a level of risk you are comfortable with. • Pay off debt. The earlier you can get rid of outstanding debt, the better. Put money toward high-interest loans and credit cards so you aren’t paying so much in costly interest charges. Afterward, you can start saving in earnest. Learning to take charge of personal finances early on can set you on a course for financial stability throughout your life.

Once the potatoes are fully cooked, remove from the oven and lower the oven temperature to 400°F. In a large bowl mix all the topping ingredients together. Top the raw chicken with the topping. Teaching Kids To Swim

Swimming is a popular activity once temperatures heat up. Millions of people flock to beaches to dip their toes in the water, and scores more spend afternoons exploring the depths of backyard pools.

Introduce children to water at an early age so they can quickly grow acclimated to water

Upon being introduced to the water, younger children may be somewhat apprehensive, as swimming in pools or oceans can be intimidating to youngsters. Parents should exercise extreme caution when teaching kids to swim, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that more than one in five fatal drowning victims are children under the age of 14.

· Wait before submerging kids. The American Red Cross says to wait until a child is around age three before submerging him or her under the water. Young kids can swallow a lot of water, which can be dangerous. Sputtering water also may turn a child off to swimming completely. · Begin in calm water. The open ocean can be daunting, even to adults. So it might be better to begin swimming lessons in a calm body of water, such as a lake or pool.

Although swimming can be dangerous, experts in pediatric and adolescent medicine affirm that participation in formal swimming lessons can reduce the risk of drowning considerably. Children whose parents swim may be eager to join mom and dad in the pool. The following are some tips for parents as they start to develop a plan to teach their kids to swim. · Wait until the child is developmentally ready. The American Association of Pediatrics recommends that parents wait until after a child’s fourth birthday to teach them how to swim. This is when children have developed enough to understand commands and have the motor skils

splashing and bobbing toys. Use these opportunities to take your child into the water, so he or she acclimates to feeling the water on his or her body and face. Kids can sit with adults on pool steps or retrieve toys from within reach. An adult always should be nearby.

required for swimming. At this point, parents can register children for swimming lessons with trained instructors. · Introduce playing in the water early on. Parents should make sure their children grow accustomed to playing in the water. Many kids start to like the water around the time they become toddlers, when bathing introduces them to

· Invest in formal swimming lessons. Parental perceptions and anxieties may interfere with parents’ abilities to properly teach their children how to swim. Therefore, hire third-party professional instructors to teach kids to swim. The Red Cross can put you in touch with certified swimming instructors who also are knowledgeable in first aid. As children become more confident in the water, they can practice swimming strokes and submerging themselves for underwater swimming.

The prevalence of technology is undeniable. According to data from the Pew Research Center, as of October 2014, 64 percent of Americans owned a smartphone. In January of the same year, 42 percent of Americans owned a tablet computer while 32 percent owned an e-reader.

While technology can be convenient, many people find themselves spending more time on their devices than they might prefer. Overexposure to communications technology can be detrimental to kids and adults, and some parents might be surprised to learn just how much time their youngsters are spending using different forms of media. A 2010 survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation found that kids spend more than seven hours per day using various forms of media. That’s especially disconcerting when considering the American Academy of Pediatrics says that overexposure to media can increase kids’ risk of aggressive behavior and interest in alcohol and smoking, and lead to poor performance in school. So how can families who have grown accustomed to using their devices find ways to unplug? The following are a handful of strategies families can employ to reduce the amount of time they’re spending on their smartphones, tablets and laptops. • Start monitoring usage. Realizing just how much time you spend on your various devices is a great first step toward unplugging. As you go about your day, jot down each and every time you use any of your devices and

what you are doing while using them, and ask family members to do the same. Do so for roughly one week, which should be ample time to provide an adequate picture of how much time you’re spending on your devices and what you are using them for. Don’t beat yourself up if the numbers shock you, just resolve to lower those numbers and continue to monitor your device usage as you do so. • Cut out the media junk food. As you examine your device usage, you may notice you are spending lots of time on fruitless activities, whether it’s catching up on the latest Internet gossip or scanning friends’ social media pages to pass the time. Eliminating these activities from your day is unlikely to have an adverse affect on your life, and you will find yourself with more time to enjoy more unplugged time with family and friends. • Schedule your media time. Many of today’s adults grew up

June

in homes where their parents restricted the time they were allowed to spend watching television. Today’s parents can take a similar approach by limiting the amount of time their kids spend on their devices while also placing the same restrictions on themselves. Allow yourself a certain amount of time each day to spend on your devices, even scheduling times each day when you will watch some television or catch up with friends on social media. Stick to this schedule and you will likely see your device usage decrease dramatically. • Recharge devices outside of your bedroom. Many adults can’t resist the urge to scan work emails or social media right before going to bed, and that can increase device usage and have a negative impact on sleep. When plugging devices in at night, be sure to charge them outside of your bedroom so you aren’t tempted to indulge in some extra and unnecessary usage at the end of the day.

Did You Know?

Earbuds enable music lovers to enjoy their favorite tunes uninterrupted and without distracting others around them. People often use earbuds while commuting to work, at the gym and even at home. But according to hearing aid manufacturer Belltone, noise-induced hearing loss can occur by using earbuds at a high volume for extended periods of time. Earbuds can put audio signals close to the inner ear, which is the equivalent of boosting it by nine decibels. Even moderately high volume can cause hearing loss. It’s important to keep the volume low and to take frequent breaks when using earbuds. Keep earbud volume below 60 percent and wear them for no more than 60 minutes per day.

Summer Camp Options are Everywhere!

Parents looking for the right summer camp for their kids will soon discover there are various types of summer camps, each offering youngsters something different. The following are some of the summer camp options parents can expect to encounter as they search for the right camp for their kids. Day Camp Day camps are not overnight camps, which means kids will return home each night rather than sleep over at camp. Day camps typically offer many of the activities people have come to associate with camps, including crafts, sports and even day-trips to experience local culture or attractions. Many day camps are co-ed, and counselors typically live within the community. Chuch Camp Faith-based camps offer many of the same activities as more traditional summer camps, but do so while simultaneously offering campers the opportunity to celebrate and further explore their religious

beliefs. Some faith-based camps may focus heavily on religion, incorporating faith into daily camp activities, while others may be more subtle with regard to integrating religious beliefs and lessons into camp activities.

Sports Camps Some summer camps focus on a particular sport, catering to young athletes who want to further develop their athletic talents. Sports camps may feature guest lectures and lessons from notable local athletes and coaches, while some camps may provide instruction from current and/or former professional athletes. Some sports camps are overnight, while others are day camps. Family Camps Family camps are opportunities for the whole family to enjoy the summer camp experience. Family camps typically tailor their activities around tasks families can complete together, with counselors providing assistance when it’s needed. Family camps may be faith-based or secular, and families typically stay overnight, sleeping

in facilities on the campsites or in lodging away from home. Special Needs Camps Parents of children with special needs can still send their kids to summer camp, as there are many camps that cater to such youngsters. Special needs camps may cater to campers who are blind, deaf, learning disabled, or mentally or physically disabled. Staff at special needs camps typically undergoes extensive training, which helps to calm some of the fears parents may have about leaving their special needs children at camp. Facilities at special needs camps are often built to accommodate the specific needs of campers.

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. 2 The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—3 and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; 4 but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. 5 Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist.6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling[a] together; and a little child will lead them. 7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 11:1 - 11:9 New International Version
