The new pre-visit etiquette

• Restrictions mean less customers per day, which means waiting lists.

So, get your booking in pronto! • Face coverings are mandatory, for you and the boutique staff. How about splashing out on something sparkly? It is a special occasion, after all! • You can relax knowing safety is paramount in all your local

boutiques. Hand sanitiser is a countertop staple and sample dresses will be steam-cleaned after every try-on.

You might be allowed a quick maskless peek in the mirror – but check with your consultant before whipping off your face covering. • Finally, check each boutique’s website or social media channels before you visit. On appointment day

• Wear appropriate underwear that won’t shine through or distract from the dresses.

Think nude strapless bras and seamless pants! • If you’ve already purchased your wedding shoes, make sure to wear them to all your appointments. Wearing the right height of shoes will give you a better idea of how your outfit will sit. • We all want to look glam when trying on wedding dresses but steer clear of fake tan and don’t overdo the make-up – staining the sample gowns wouldn’t be good! • Try your hand at your wedding day hairstyle if you have one in mind – you’ll see which parts of your outfit will be on display.

Consider when and where your wedding will take place when choosing an outfit, as well as your budget and accessories. A beach wedding will have a very different feel from one at a Scottish castle!
