The limits on guest numbers still apply and an outdoor wedding means your guests won’t need to wear face masks if they stay two metres apart. Superappealing for photos! There are lots of amazing options for outdoor weddings in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Gorgeous castle gardens would mean stunning spring photographs whilst the ruins of a cathedral would make for a dramatic elopement setting. Alternatively, marrying next to a lake or at the top of a hill might do it for you – just think of the views!

Remember that we’re in Scotland – always have a plan B for the unpredictable weather and remind guests to dress appropriately. If you go for a flexible venue with a sheltered outdoor option, you should be covered if you need to change at the last minute.

Alternatively, look into hiring a small gazebo or marquee that has open sides, so you’re not exposed to the elements. They provide a blank canvas so you’re free to add your own décor.
