Castles & Stately Homes Grand and Regal
A true fairytale wedding wouldn’t be complete without a castle – or indeed a stately home if you’re more of a Bridgerton kind of couple! In the northeast, you’ll find a wonderful variety of grand and regal venues in which to tie the knot, with spaces to suit all sizes of wedding parties. Here are five reasons we love them…

1. The beautiful setting: At many castles and stately homes, you can host every part of your day in a different space within the venue and its grounds – and spend very little on decoration because it all speaks for itself! Say “I do” in a lavish drawing room, toast to your newlywed status with a garden party on the manicured lawn, dine like royalty in the grand banqueting hall and dance the night away in a beautiful Baronial ballroom under the most sparkly of chandeliers. Your guests won’t forget your wedding in a hurry!
Raemoir Country House and Estate is an exclusive use fully staffed venue available for private hire. It is an indulgent Scottish mansion set at the end of a tree-lined drive, magnificent in stature and entirely secluded making it the perfect venue for you to create your dream day in the comfort of “your house”. There are many unique spaces for the Ceremony both inside in the Oval Room, Garden Room or Marquee or out in the 14 acres of south facing parkland and grounds, in the woodland “Cathedral” or even up the Hill of Fare on the surrounding 3500 acre Estate. The House is provided with all 16 ensuite bedrooms and is fully catered allowing you and your guests to completely relax in comfort and privacy during your time here. There is no need to worry about organising any third parties to look after you and it also means mum doesn’t have to do any cooking or cleaning up! With a capacity of 120 the House can cater for most events however for larger numbers we have our own Marquee which is accessible internally avoiding any issues with weather!

2. The rich history: These wonderful buildings all come with a story or ten; living monuments to Scotland’s history. From the iconic architecture to the vivid interiors, soak up the unique story of your wedding venue. 3. There’s flexibility: Want to get married elsewhere before heading to your majestic castle or grand stately home to celebrate? Not a problem – many offer superb receptiononly packages. Got an extra-large wedding party? Hire a marquee to sit in a spectacular spot in the grounds and keep the inside of the venue as a special retreat for you and your bridal party. Effortlessly romantic, castles and stately homes are a truly remarkable setting for big, formal celebrations and cosy, intimate gatherings.
Are you secretly dreaming of having a destination wedding but have no idea where to start?
Do You want an affordable venue that can accommodate both of your families, and the bridal party for more than just one day!! The La Chaussee Estate gives you the perfect back drop for your French Chateau Wedding, with the added bonus of the extra Mansion house so you can accommodate both sides of your families.

4. Your photos will be timeless: Booking a venue of this stature guarantees an exquisite backdrop for your wedding photos, whatever the season – bursts of colour in the summer, Narnia-like wonderlands in winter and everything in between. From the commanding exterior stonework to the dramatically styled interiors, plus the lush gardens and landscaped grounds, your castle or stately home will be a photographer’s paradise – and your guests will love the captivating views.
5. You can stay there: Make your wedding last a little bit longer and pick a castle or stately home where you (and your VIP guests, if you like) can spend the night. You’ll feel like a king and queen, or lord and lady of the manor, as you retire to a lavish four-poster bed in an atmospheric, turreted bedroom! ♥
