Event Accessories Confetti and More…

Confetti helps to make some of the best post-ceremony pics you can get, plus it’s such a fun way of celebrating the newlyweds! But with some venues restricting its use and many couples going green on their wedding day, it’s probably time to look at some alternatives…

The tradition began in 14th century Italy with guests tossing rice, seeds, sweets – and even eggs and mud at the newly married pair! Thankfully, things moved on and by the 1800s, the Victorians had made paper confetti popular. Time for change again, as people are keen to find less messy, more eco-friendly alternatives. Sound like you? Then listen in… • Popcorn confetti: Lighter and kinder than rice, it’s biodegradable – and tastes yummy if you have some left over! • Bubbles: We’re 100% here for this magical option and photographers are capturing whimsical snapshots when bubbles are involved. No environmental harm done and if kids are attending, they’ll be delighted!

• Dried flower confetti: Biodegradable and beautiful, this is becoming super-popular.

For extra impact, pick colours that suit your theme.

The best of the rest

Confetti aside, there’s much more on offer in the northeast when it comes to personalising your wedding décor.

Here’s a roundup of our faves:

• Backdrops: Want an ultra-Instagrammable day? Then explore what local suppliers have in terms of stop-and-stare walls (sequin or donut?!), atmospheric arches (balloon or floral?) and LED lights (from funky furniture to large letters).

• Satisfying that sweet tooth: From sweetie carts to ice-cream carts, this trend isn’t going anywhere soon! Choose a vintage-style cart for those rustic vibes or pick a fresh, white station that can be glammed up with colours of your choice.

• Table décor: From chairs and chair covers to centrepieces and favours, show off your style by commissioning a top local company to bring your vision to life.

• Details to dance under: Lighting, draping and even dancefloors can really set the scene for the evening. For fullon glamour, go for a super-sparkly dancefloor with a glitterball installation above. Alternatively, keep it simple with a canopy of fairy lights and bring the outside in with gorgeous garlands. ♥
