Uniform Building By-Law (ACT 133) Section 84 (1)- Dampness: Suitable measures should be taken to prevent penetration of dampness and moisture into the building. Section 89- A chase made in a wall for pipes and other service facilities shall leave the wall of the back of the chase not less than 100 mm thick in external wall and not less than 100mm thick in a party wall and shall not wide than 200 mm. Section 123 (1)(b)- Pipes and Service ducts: Where ducts or enclosure are provided in any building to accomodate pipes, cables or conducts the dimension of such duct oe enclosures shall be sufficiently large to permit access to cleaning eyes, stop cocks and other controls there to enable or all the services accomodated.

(2) The access openngs to ducts and enclosures shall be long enough and suitable placed to enable lengths of pipes to be installed and removed.
