LYL MASTERPLAN For the first project, the client has assigned us to design a mixed-use development masterplan in an approximately 400 acres of land area located at Semenyih, Selangor. The main concept of the masterplan is to synergize by the existing lake on the highest point of the site, with a clubhouse adjacent to it and secluded with arrays of commercial area, to provide a focal point for the development. From the main focal point, it branches out with series of terrace housing, commercial shop lot/office area and service apartments parcel. The masterplan also supports by specific numbers of basic institutions such as primary schools, surau, police station etc.

DESIGN STRATEGIES To incorporate sustainable/ livable environment for future residence, pockets of greenery had introduced to overcome the drastic change of contour.

Diagrammatic section explain the insertion of greenery pocket space.


05 CHALLENGE/ LIMITATION Contour The main challenges we faced for this project is the drastic change of contours scattered on the site. To tackle this issue, our team has carefully review the difference in contour for few section, and possibilities to adjust the contour according to the maximum difference in leveling.

SEPARATE CARPARK PODIUM (RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL 800kp/500kp) For this project, we are given a task to maximize the plot ratio PANTAI DALAM

of the commercial land by doing few exercises on the calculation and spatial planning. The project is located nearby the PPR Pantai Ria at Pantai Dalam, Kuala Lumpur. The initial idea is the facing the unit block toward north east orientation, direct to the KLCC city skyline view. The main objective of the latest scenario is to increase the plot ratio/density as client requested with compliance of uniform building by law for proposal stage.

Parking By reducing the land size by half for both tower and podium plinth, the number of car park unit is difficult to achieve for the initial scheme. My task is to sort out the possibilities of the car park arrangement, application of car park ramp etc.

The main limitation for this project is the land size and land title. Due to the marketing trend, we took the cashflow of developer into one of the considerations. We had proposed to separate the unit tower with car park podium. This decision causes the building plinth of tower become smaller. We decide to redesign the tower orientation to maximize the plot ratio/density. Throughout the design process, one of my tasks is to clarify the size of units and requirement on the low-cost unit for specific land title.

For this project, our client has given a task to propose & design a community & commercial village masterplan. After several discussion session, we had proposed the programme such as event space, art bazaar/sport arena, food republic/drive thru, common retail space, nursery, kindergarten, and garden space. The main concept Is to revive the existing residential area by inserting youth activities, form a young and family oriented space making for surrounding area.

GA 611 CHURCH This project is located at Section 13, Petaling Jaya. The client has appointed us to build a stand-alone Sanctuary Hall building as extension of the existing church. This church domain by a double volume hexagonal shape Sanctuary Hall (with mezzanine seating); surrounded by series of supporting facilities such as office, wedding hall, breakout room, multipurpose hall etc. The main architecture feature of the building is the collision between traditional material and advanced material, create a story telling effect for the building. Application of glass is widely use to create a translucent box effect, wrapping around the massive scale of stone wall. The space is well designed to provide a comfortable and home like spatial ambience when prayer visit the building.

ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES 1. Cross sky light feature act as natural lighting source, allow daylight penetrate into the Sanctuary Hall. 2. Wide application of glass feature to provide modern and transparency figure for the building envelope. 3. Massive scale of stone wall provides traditional feel for the old churches. 4. Timber finishes provide warm ambience to the user.

AYER SERVICE APARTMENT This project is located at a junction near Bandar Bukit Puchong, adjacent to SJK (C) Sin Ming. The client has appointed us to propose a commercial titled high rise building on a land plot size of 2.02 acres. We been brief to provide 3-unit types, which is 900 sqft, 1000 sqft & 550 sqft (affordable unit). During first round of discussion, our team has trying to sort out the possible figures (tabulation for no. of unit/parking) to provide in our scheme. After few rounds of trial and error, we had decided our figure and start working for the design.

The main concept of this service apartment is to invite the serene view from the lake nearby, and city skyline view from the future development site. Each view is opposite to each other and it decide the orientation of the unit tower. For sake of reducing the building plinth of tower (To allow more car park units), the unit layout is design in point configuration, and sit on the top right edges on the site plan.

The podium is nicely design by scattering of series of facilities. Main axis is generated from the viewing point, and allow cross ventilation coming through from all direction. The pool deck is setback on the longest edge of podium, creating a wide spatial experience for all. A circular loop of jogging track is wrap around the pool and other supporting facilities, such as games room, leisure room, multipurpose hall, gym gourmet kitchen etc. Landscaping is well designed to provide shades and cooling effect for the residents. The idea is to provide a lifestyle arena for the private community, and introduce leisure and healthy element to every individual who stay in the building.
