Call to Worship For All the Saints Hymn 326
Text: William Walsham How; Music: Ralph Vaughn Williams
Confession
Beloved God, who was known to our mothers and fathers, and even to our spiritual forebears, have mercy on us. We do not always love as you would have us love. We do not always do as you would have us do. In our stubbornness, we turn from you when we should turn toward you. Hold us, dear Lord–comfort us when we mourn the passing of friends and family, and help us to know that they are rejoicing in your presence. We praise you for the grace you shower on us, constantly forgiving our errors, especially the ones that we don’t share with any but you. Hear now the silent fears and worries of our hearts.
Assurance of Grace Prayers of the People The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Doxology
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise him, all creatures here below; Praise him above, ye heav’nly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. Thomas Ken
Affirmation of Faith The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Uttering Mysteries
1 Cor. 14:1–33; 36–40, Josh Peck
Celebration of the Lord’s Supper In Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found; He is my light, my strength, my song; This cornerstone, this solid ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace
WYNNE CHAPEL When fears are stilled, when strivings cease. My comforter, my all in all, Here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones He came to save. ’Til on that cross, as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied; For every sin on Him was laid. Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious day, Up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory, Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His and He is mine, Bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the power of Christ in me. From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no human plan, Can ever pluck me from His hand. ’Til He returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand. Text and Music: Keith Getty & Start Townend; Lloyd Larson, arr.

Amazing grace how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I am found Was blind but now I see ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed My chains are gone, I’ve been set free My God my Savior has ransomed me And like a flood His mercy reigns Unending love amazing grace The Lord has promised good to me His word my hope secures He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures Chorus The earth shall soon dissolve like snow The sun forbear to shine But God who called me here below Will be forever mine Chorus

Assurance of Grace King Of Kings
In the darkness, we were waiting without hope, without light ’Till from heaven You came running, there was mercy in Your eyes To fulfill the law and prophets, to a virgin came the Word From a throne of endless glory, to a cradle in the dirt Praise the Father, praise the Son, praise the Spirit, three in one God of Glory, Majesty, Praise forever to the King of Kings To reveal the kingdom coming, and to reconcile the lost To redeem the whole creation, You did not despise the cross For even in your suff’ring You saw to the other side Knowing this was our salvation, Jesus for our sake You died Chorus And the morning that You rose, all of heaven held it’s breath ’Till that stone was moved for good, for the Lamb had conquered death And the dead rose from their tombs, and the angels stood in awe For the souls of all who’d come to the Father are restored And the church of Christ was born,

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper O Praise The Name (Anástasis)
I cast my mind to Calvary Where Jesus bled and died for me I see His wounds, His hands His feet My Savior on that cursed tree His body bound and drenched in tears They laid Him down in Joseph’s tomb The entrance sealed by heavy stone Messiah still and all alone O praise the name of the Lord our God O praise His name forever more For endless days we sill sing Your praise Oh Lord, oh Lord our God And then on the third at break of dawn The Son of heaven rose again O trampled death, where is your sting The angels roar for Christ the King Chorus

I Need Thee Every Hour I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord; no tender voice like thine can peace afford.
Refrain: I need thee, O I need thee, every hour I need thee! O bless me now, my Savior— I come to thee!
I need thee every hour; stay thou near by; temptations lose their power when thou art nigh. (Refrain) I need thee every hour; teach me thy will, and thy rich promises in me fulfill. (Refrain) I need thee every hour, Most Holy One; O make me thine indeed, thou blessed Son. (Refrain)

Assurance of Grace
Friends, hear the good news! Though thousands upon thousands of our ancestors did not follow God’s ways perfectly, we have hope in the one who did! Jesus, a man of a particular people in a particular time, taught through his words and deeds that God has already forgiven us. Thus, we and all who have come before us are rightly known as saints–the holy ones of God! Thanks be to God for God’s mercy, grace, and love! Amen!
Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end. Amen.
