CENTENNIAL WATER IMPLEMENTS STAGE 1 DROUGHT RESTRICTIONS The Centennial Water Board of Directors approved moving into Stage 1 drought restrictions at a Special Board of Directors meeting held July 6. This includes the communities of Highlands Ranch, Solstice and Northern Douglas County Water & Sanitation District. The goal of Stage 1 restrictions is to reduce outdoor water use by 15% to 20%. Watering restrictions will begin Wednesday, July 20. In its 40+ year history, Centennial Water has been very proactive in securing water resources and storage rights to ensure the community is well served into the future. Centennial Water staff and board members have kept a close eye on drought conditions and as conditions continue to be warmer and drier than normal, the board made the decision to move from Drought Watch into Stage 1 restrictions. To learn more, visit the Drought Resource Center on Centennial Water’s website at centennialwater.org/drought. Greetings, Every so often, I think it is important to reflect on what our mission is at HRCA. Our mission statement,“Enhancing property values and creating quality of life through recreation, community events and leadership” truly illustrates our being. HRCA prides itself in being the premier “Community Association” in the country. The amenities provided to our residents are second to none and the envy of many communities. Living in our planned development requires property owners to join the HRCA where your annual assessment fees provide for the upkeep of our four recreation centers. Our recreation centers include fitness areas, 17 bodies of water for recreational and competitive swimming, batting cages, sports turf, five gymnasiums, golf simulator at Northridge (and coming soon a Golf and Multi Sport Simulator at Southridge), 10 outdoor and six indoor tennis courts, and coming soon six outdoor Pickleball courts at Westridge. The Backcountry Wilderness area that encompasses over 8200 acres also offers camps, horseback riding, trail rides, archery and many more events and activities.

In 2022, HRCA produces over 85 community events, and our programs extend well over 2000 offerings from children’s programming, fitness to recreational opportunities. Additionally, your membership ensures your property values are perpetually enhanced as property owners are bound to adhere to the association's covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs). Albeit, at times, those rules may seem restrictive (especially being the recipient of a compliance notice); however, the noted stipulations require for the general upkeep of properties along with an architectural review process for exterior enhancements to your property. You can find the Residential and Commercial Guidelines on our website HRCAonline.org. In August, HRCA will commence in the robust budget process to ensure that our residents “quality of life” is maintained. In 2023, our operational budget will approach approximately $30 million with an employee base of 876. The budget process takes approximately three months to complete with the final budget presented at the board meeting in October 2022. My best, Mike
