The occasion is a chance to encourage all countries and all sectors to realize the importance of the rights of migrant workers who have to leave their home to work in the receiving country and to ensure that they receive fair treatment from the government and concerned parties with no discrimination based on race, religion, skin color and gender. The Migrant Worker Federation (MWF) and Workers Solidarity Association (WSA) which are groups of migrant workers who pledge to work to promote and develop working skills of migrant workers and to enable them to work legally in Thailand have the following demands to tender to you. (2) To promote equality, fairness and non-discrimination, workers of all occupations should be entitled to legal protection including from the Labour Protection Act, Social Security Act, and Workmen’s Compensation Fund Act, etc. (3) Migrant workers under the MOU regime should be entitled to rights and freedom to change their employers. (4) The designation of workplaces of migrant workers should cover the entire area of the province.
