The successful candidate will have a Master's degree: in risk management and insurance or in finance with at least 18 hours of graduate finance courses or in business administration (MBA) with 18 hours of finance courses. Certain designations, such as CPCU and ARM can serve in lieu of the 18 graduate hours of finance courses for candidates with an MBA. Insurance or risk management industry experience with connections in the region is a plus, as is experience in teaching, event planning, and donor solicitation. Courses to be taught: Principles of Insurance and Risk Management; Life and Health Insurance; Employee Benefit Planning; Property Liability Insurance and Risk Management; Risk Analysis and Control. Non-teaching activities: Maintaining and building external relationships with local and regional insurance industry and risk management professionals, with ODU's Insurance and Financial Services Center Advisory Board, and with potential donors.
