Periodically, the Corporate office holds a yoga class to help employees focus on taking care of their mind and body. Did you know that adding exercise to your day – even in small bursts, can help reduce stress and boost your mood? It is important to pay attention to your posture. The way you sit, stand and carry yourself throughout the day can have a profound impact on you mentally. Sitting up straight can reinforce confidence, whereas bad posture can lead to feelings of stress. Hawthorne can be found below practicing the sun salutation pose while waiting for others to join the class.

I am a potential resident and came yesterday to view the property and fell in love with the property. I loved the trees on the property it felt like an oasis to me, the community garden idea was such a novel thing, the staff Michael was very friendly and very welcoming he greeted us which drew us in. They even treat dogs the same way with snack ready for them. The apartment I viewed was perfect with the cozy fireplace so I have found my new home.

This community takes to heart the concept of “Love where you live.” I adore the pool and my nieces love visiting because of the shallow sundeck and fountains. The staff in the office are always friendly and helpful. The maintenance crew is always phenomenal. The quality of life that you get living here can’t be beat. I’ve regularly used the car wash station and the pool area. If I had dogs, I’m sure they’d be in heaven living here. I’ve lived in 6 different apartment complexes since 2001 and this is by far the best one across the board. I’m pretty sure the only thing that would get me to move would be winning the lottery and moving to some historical mansion/castle in Europe.

The staff are EXCELLENT here. The one thing that I like about the staff is that they listen to you. That means a lot when someone hears and understands when you are speaking to them. It’s also so peaceful as well. I will try to stay here as long as I can.

I want to leave my sincere thanks and compliments to Robert. I will start by saying that I rarely, rarely write reviews. I have only written when either something is terribly wrong or when something is incredibly great. Robert has been incredibly great for the past 2 ½ years I have lived here. I have been renting luxury apartments for the past 20 years. Robert is hands down, the best maintenance service supervisor I have ever encountered. Period. His work is always spot on, prompt, efficient and always performed with a smile. I will soon be moving to a home. I will miss you Robert. I hope you stay in touch.

If you are currently enrolled in the Group Accident and/or Critical Illness plans with Unum you are eligible to receive the $50 Wellness Benefit incentive each calendar year. If you are enrolled in both plans, you are eligible to receive $50 from each plan! (If you are not sure if you are enrolled in the Group Accident or Critical Illness policy, you can check your paystub to see if you have the Accident Policy or Critical Care listed under the Deductions section of your paystub). In order to receive this incentive, you and your covered family members would need to complete one of the following tests/screenings:

HAWTHORNE GIVES BACK! OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD This year, along with years’ past, we had the opportunity to work with Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization on the Operation Christmas Child project. We filled 150 shoeboxes that were shipped outside of the United States to children between the ages of 2 - 14 affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
SALVATION ARMY ANGEL TREE We partnered with The Salvation Army again this year to help provide Christmas assistance to 50 families in need. Through this program, children are able to experience the joy of Christmas morning with gifts waiting under their Christmas tree.
TOYS FOR TOTS
We supported the Toys for Tots Foundation again this year through our company-wide toy drive. The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots program is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas time and to bring the joy of Christmas. Our goal was to raise 5,000 toys. We are excited to announce the grand total of toys collected and the winners for Most Toys Collected and Most Creative Display beginning of 2020!

LIVE IT! CORNER As we move into 2020, lets make a conscious effort to spread kindness wherever we go. Kindness is contagious and you never know just how big of an impact a small gesture of kindness can have. Kindness improves our quality of life and it brings people together. Kindness makes the greatest impact on others. Here are some ways we can spread kindness in the workplace: Lead by example – Our parents taught us manners for a reason. Remember to say, “thank you”, and others will follow your lead. Put an end to petty criticism – Try to keep it positive. Remember the old saying, if you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all. Welcome new employees with open arms – Take a moment to introduce yourself to new employees and get to know them. We’ve all been that new person at one point or another so make sure you are doing your part to make them feel welcome. Recognize one another’s strengths – A pat on the back can go a long way. Everyone wants to feel appreciated. Be kind to others – Remember that even though you may work in a different position, we are all on the same team and we are in this together. LET’S SPREAD A LITTLE JOY, MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE’S DAY, AND REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BE KIND!
