What's it all about?

We offer graduates the opportunity to kick start their careers on one of three specially designed programmes to best suit your skills, degree discipline and future career aspirations. On completion of the Graduate Development Programme we’re confident that we’ll be able to offer you a permanent role within our business. This decision will be based on your performance throughout the 18 month scheme.

We are looking for two ambitious individuals to fill the following positions: 

Technical Graduate – Liverpool



Sales and Marketing Graduate – Liverpool

Technical Programme - 18 Months As a technical graduate, you'll get to work in real roles and on live projects from day one whilst benefiting from a clearly defined training structure. This is all designed to build your technical, business and commercial knowledge preparing you for an exciting career at HRS. As part of the graduate programme you’ll get to see exactly how we develop and deliver robust technology products to meet our client’s requirements. In return you will be expected to hit the ground running contributing great ideas and delivering innovative solutions to our clients just like everybody else in your team.

Whilst testing and developing our products you will also be testing your own skills and competencies as you get stuck into software design in an agile software development environment. You’ll get the opportunity to prove your worth as a software developer and perhaps squeeze in a few trips to some of our high profile clients sites along the way.

Entry Requirements If you think Mark Zuckerberg is a pretty cool guy and you understand that building world changing technical solutions takes more than a bit of fancy coding, then you might have what it takes for our Technical Programme.

Firstly, we cannot stress how important it is to have a true passion for software development and technology! The technology team at HRS live and breathe what they do and we are only looking for like-minded people who truly want to start their career in a fast paced dynamic development environment.

To apply for this role you must have achieved at least a 2:1 in software engineering or related discipline. Whilst not essential, if you’ve had experience of .NET programming and database design in a real commercial development environment then we'd love to know in your application exactly what you got up to.

Sales and Marketing Programme - 18 Months If you are driven by results and fancy yourself as a high flying sales and marketing guru then this programme could be your perfect match.

As a graduate on this programme you will play a key role in brand awareness and lead generation giving you the opportunity to build your commercial acumen under the guidance of our highly experienced Sales and Marketing team.

We’ll have high expectations for you to add value to the business through your determination and tenacity in the following key areas: 

Business development / sales



Lead generation



Campaign co-ordination



Market communication (including international communication)



Market analysis



Exhibition co-ordination and attendance

Entry Requirements To be successful in this role we are looking for graduates that have the personality and drive to really take grip of this opportunity with both hands! As an individual you must be highly self-motivated and driven to demonstrate what you can do – not being satisfied by just meeting your targets but smashing them!

Our preference would be for you to have achieved a minimum 2:1 in a marketing or business-related discipline, but we also welcome applications from individuals that feel they can make a real difference and develop their careers at HRS.

The positions will be based at our Head Office at Wavertree Technology Park. However, whichever programme you chose you will need to be flexible as occasional travel throughout the UK and overnight stays will be essential.

There'll be support for you every step of the way, and you’ll be given your own Mentor who will provide support and guidance for the duration of the programme.

Charlotte Kelsey Since joining HRS in September 2010 I have been involved in some of the company’s biggest projects and I was given real responsibility from the moment I got here.

The graduate development programme gave me the opportunity to understand the business as a whole and I really enjoyed working within key areas of the organisation.

I was constantly being set new tasks and challenges that developed my skills and knowledge every day.

As part of the programme I was involved in a project from the beginning stages right through to the end solution, which was invaluable to my development at HRS. HRS has already provided me with a great start to my career and I look forward to more exciting opportunities with the company now that I am a permanent employee.

Robert Heywood The HRS Graduate Development Programme was an excellent opportunity for me, given the current climate most graduates, myself included, consider themselves lucky to find work of any kind and that is why opportunities like this are even more valuable. Given the scope of work HRS is involved in; the technology, sectors and number of projects you are involved in you are given the opportunity to experience and be tested in ways most jobs just would not allow.

Within the first few months I had gained experience in project management, working at exhibitions, attending sites for installations and running trials. HRS helps to build up your business skills immediately as well as providing support from a mentor to guide you in both your work and personal life.

I gained real experience that in a normal environment might have taken years, but running through the values of HRS are core principles surrounding trust and imagination; consequently I have had the opportunity to take on responsibilities and opportunities I might not otherwise have had.

I would highly recommend the programme and I look forward to what the future holds for me here at HRS.
