FROM THE EDITOR Dear Reader,
A
s it may reach different kind of people, am here to remind you that it really doesn’t matter what the past held but how you do about the information and knowledge you got from it, you are fully responsible for that. Will take you a little back to my home. I grew up knowing I have to read every time I got a chance to, my dad being a teacher, he used to wake me up at 5.am to do my first morning prep. This carried on till when I was in high school. One thing I am proud of till now is my dad, waking up every morning to make our breakfast, this is something unbeatable till very day. Throughout the whole process it’s the small tiny things that my parents did for me and my siblings. Their presence, from beating us up, tying us outside in our garden, to showing up at 6pm at my school just to come pick my specs and have it repaired within one hour, I mean, wow, I live for those moments. That’s what every kid is looking upto from their parents and guardians. To Show up, be there for them, correct them, praise them, love them. They are yearning for that presence of father figure, they yearn for their mothers love and laughter. If by any chance your a daughter, son, find yourself at the crossroads of whether you are loved enough by people arounnd you, take that love and spread it to someone else in your life. Show that love to another human. In that way someones day will be beautiful because of you. Love will find you always. Don’t go beating them up because someone grew up like that, don’t go around spoiling them with gifts because someone elses daughter or son was given everything. Communicate with the kid, listen to all the one million words she wants to say about her day, Listen to his whole idea of football even if you don’t undertstand it. Just listen. Don’t brush them off because you too busy for such stories. It wont be perfect or easy, it may not seem as it is in words, but try, JUST BE THERE, happiness is right infront of you. Sometimes that’s all that matters. I may not see it all but I feel it all, says the Broken child, beside the riverbed.
