Comments Intuitively, I arranged a modular pattern that is repetitive, which created consistency in the design language. Nonetheless, with the abstraction of the simple geometries, the honeycomb configuration transformes into a composition with many variations, framing the differences between the surfaces and the openness. The deduction of central mass from the hexagons establishes the distinction between the exterior and interior. Furthermore, the overlapping of the hexagons generated the illusion of three-dimensionality from the bird-eye view. The consistency of scale across the figure drawing suggestes similar spaces across the field. Density is the determinant of the difference in spatial experience in this design.

Comments Inspired by the artistic expressions of the modern movements, Cubism and Suprematism, the composition shows an abstraction in space. Primary geometry, together create a sense of movement, without describing the reality. The configuration feels like a snapshot of a bigger, expanding field of objects. The axial element strengthens the idea by giving the objects directions.

Comments Originally, the intuitive idea was to explore the overlapping of shapes, yet the design turned into the opposite, the absence of interactions. The openness, however, gives a strong suggestion of how path may be directed. The datum in the middle brings the divisive elements to a single alignment. Sharp, angular openness and solids provide a variation of closed of privacy and public spaces.

Comments The planes offer the illusion of three dimensionalities in a two-dimensional flat space. The collisions of objects result in the unintentional framings of the rectangular spaces in the open. The scatterness of the configuration gives a sense of chaos, yet the rigid rectangular spaces have that quality of a formal atmosphere.

Comments • Apply more rigid rules to the first intuitive collage • The repetition of the pattern of hexagonal form and equilaterals triangles • Snapshot of the pattern, but can expand beyond the boundary • The ground-based pattern defines the generation of form • Maze, that creates continuous, sequential paths • A sense of rhyme and continuity

Comments • Consistency in the size of the objects • Repetition of the same object - a larger square with a smaller square attached to it. • Each object must touch corner or one edge with another • From something, entirely, the same (shape and scale), to many variations • The multiple modular objects combined to build a larger object to create variation in scale

Comments • Any closed-off internal space that is created, the same rectangle space is duplicate and shifted to the outside in adjacent • Expand on itself – self-emptying and self-building
