What was the trigger or reason to make you want to cover your head with a scarf? Many wrote that it had do with studying, learning and gaining more knowledge from the Qur’an and seeking spiritual enlightenment
“Wanted to show my religion and that I am Muslim to complete my faith”.
“After taking a "women, art, & society" course it made me realize that the West pressures women to feel that they are simply pieces of flesh with no intellect. It is something that I always felt, but seeing non-Muslims address this fact made me realize i need to cherish the ideals that my own religion has provided me. I always wanted to wear hijaab, but I knew it takes courage to do so. I realized I needed to stand up and be courageous. And so I did.”
