“I’m a Visual Artist from Barcelona (Spain), exploring and linking reality, augmented reality, virtual reality and augmented virtuality. I began painting canvases and graffiti in 1992, and I have been surrounded by artists, professors and paintings since that time. I studied fine arts in Barcelona and Perpignan and I obtained 2 post-graduate degrees in 3D computer graphics in Barcelona. I’ve been participating in art fairs and collective exhibitions in Europe, America, Australia and Asia. I would also like to emphasise that I’ve been exhibiting in historical sites such as the birthplace of Ramon Gomez De La Serna (Madrid, Spain), sharing space with 20 original Pochoirs by Picasso, etc. I received art awards and I’ve been featured in several printed and online art magazines.”

VALDIF (Miguel F. Valdivieso) painter, ceramicist, muralist. Born in Granada (Spain) in 1952. Completely self-taught painter, Valdif is an outlier with a long history of contributions of great artistic interest and in many cases using techniques themselves, innovate and playing different styles, and whose works have been commissioned, exhibited and sold through different channels generally to regular exhibitions in art galleries. Shows his first solo exhibition at the Art Center in Granada in 1975, which followed several solo and group exhibitions in Granada, Valencia, Murcia, Madrid, (Sala Toison) ... but gradually departs from these circuits. Valdif developed a technique based on marble sands allows his role muralist. The visual impact of his works, it takes professionally and performing custom murals and original works for building entrances, hotels etc. It moves in the world of construction and decorating firms.

Born in 1991 is a small town in India. Sushant Sinha is an emerging sketch artist who is known for his unique lifelike sketches of people, animals and fantasy. His works are often about living elements, music, passion and love. By applying abstraction, he tries to create intense personal moments by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal for his viewers. He is a self-taught artist who has developed his own method of sketching by observing the work of other artists. He did his B.Tech in electronics and is currently employed by Google. In spite of having a technical work profile, art has always been his priority in life. It was his hobby which has now become his passion. He has participated in many local art exhibitions and his work can be found in online art galleries like Saatchiart.

Matsumoto’s work reflects the morphological transformations of our ever-evolving urban and ecological milieus that are attributed to a multitude of spatio-temporal phenomena influenced by social, economic and cultural factors. They are created as visual commentaries on speculative changes in notions of societies, cultures and ecosystems in the transient nature of constantly shifting topography and geology.

The artworks explore the hybrid technique combining both traditional media (ink, acrylic, and graphite) and digital media (algorithmic processing, parametric modelling, data transcoding and image compositing with custom software). Ryota Matsumoto is a participant of an award-winning interdisciplinary design office, Ryota Matsumoto Studio based in Tokyo. He received a Master of Architecture degree from University of Pennsylvania in 2007 after his studies at Architectural Association in London and Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow School of Art in early 90’s. He currently serves as an adviser and adjunct faculty member of Transart Institute in Berlin and New York. His art and design work are featured in numerous publications and exhibitions worldwide.

My name is Yael Avni Eshchar, who lives and works in Israel. Married, with one, 6 years old child. When I was 6 myself - in kindergarten -, the only field in which I was interested in were drawing and materials. My parents allowed me to develop this passion. In high school I realized that “being an artist� is the only thing I want to be. While studying I researched techniques and created mixed media, abstract paintings and digital art. These days I go back to the classical techniques of naturalistic painting, as the biggest inspiration for me is nature.

My goal is to express myself through form and colour, the “natural versus artificial�. Music that I love, human, fragile and delicate nature.Colours and shapes are my main research tools and it keeps me busy. My artwork is looking to create an environment. That shattered or busted piece of metal or wood lying in the streets is the focal point in her mixed media, found object sculptures. Inspiration is always found in the beauty and simplicity of Deane’s coastal surroundings. For this reason, she is passionate about being an environmentally conscientious artist and creating eco-friendly art. Items that otherwise might end up in landfills and waterways are given new and important value. Deane finds an imaginative purpose for even the dingiest nail or screw and pairs them with other dull, discarded items to form a fresh new whole. Bold colours are used freely to accentuate the shades and patinas of the rust. Creating sustainable artwork and cleaning up her city, even if it is one nail at a time is extremely satisfying to Deane. She is amazed and artistically challenged by the variety of materials she finds within a few city blocks.

Jenny Wiener’s work is subtle, analytical and almost perverse. Almost because it has a wonderful reasoning all of its own which stretches the logic of measurement. Jenny’s practice focuses on measurements and how they relate to our daily lives. Her interest is in the historical structures of myths, of attempting to transform structures from within history and to remake perspectives.
Starting with maths, and moving to the structures of perception, Jenny poses questions about questions and critiques of visual thinking. Jenny’s work makes you look at the way that you look and think about the way you see.

Dorit was always captured with and fascinated by the phenomenon of strong women, women who met adversities in their lives and battled their way through stormy events, personally and professionally, while all the way when doing so, strengthening themselves, and their surroundings, that being their loved ones, their work places, their world. Michal always was interesting in learning more about her Brazilian roots which are a strong part of her Identity. The geographic distance from her homeland, together with longing and belonging feelings influences Michal's art. Describing her art Michal says: "Art gives me the opportunity to discover, explore, know and learn more about my homeland- Brazil and my connection to my country". Most of Michal's artworks are related to Brazil's people, nature, animals, culture, traditions and more. I also get inspiration from the people on the streets, the architecture of the city, the beach, the Yarkon Park, the animals that live among us in the streets and the street art. I love to walk around the city and take some picture as a tourist, that’s where my art begin. Ori Galon Born in Tel Aviv grew to know a city that truly never sleeps called at that time, The White City, Tel Aviv was a thriving centre of art architecture and theatre. His first guided art gallery tour was at the age of 4 led by his mother whose passion for art taught him to love and appreciate it himself in any shape and form. By the age of 14 Ori left his parent’s home and headed to agriculture school to be close to Nature. It was at that adolescent age that he got his first reflex camera and began exploring the surroundings Ori was learning painting photography sculpting design and video art at a number of schools and workshops. It is without shame that he says he did not graduate from any of them. Life was the best school he ever had. In 1989 Ori presented his works at the Berta Urdung Gallery in New York. Ori is a handicapped IDF veteran since 1979. In 2007 Ori lost his left dominant hand due to medical complications from his army injury, few months after amputation he returned to draw and to shoot with his camera.

In the creation process, the creator endeavours to enable the artwork to narrate her observation of the boundless universe. Thus, in Mei-Lin Lin’s creations, she uses a combination of painting and photography layering, similar to image superimposition in the multiple exposure technique of photography. By integrating the various layers of images using post production techniques, a novel and colourful picture is created. Using stark contrasting colour blocks and unconventional methods, she hopes to guide viewers into her interpreted world.

I work as a freelance photographer and specialise in public relation, products, fashion and special processing effects. However, I prefer dedicating most of my time to art and finding ways to getting my messages heard. Born in 1975 in Israel, from a very young age I felt passionate about photography. I received my first camera when I was about eight years old and started to document my friends. Only at the age of 27, after struggling between my dreams and ideas, I decided to become a professional photographer. I studied multi-media at Sivan Collage in 1999-2002 and then photography at “The Studio” Art College in Ra’a’nana, Israel in 2003-2004. Always driven by a concept, I describe myself as a documentary photographer eager to provoke my audience with messages and raw images that most people shy away from. Each frame I capture is about a dialogue between 2–3 elements … it’s the dialogue that inspires my work. 59 In most of her series she dealt with the human soul. Through her many observations she has staged her works as a type of mirror into human nature in accordance with her feelings and interpretations. The series Pathology of Rust is devoted to thoughts salted with the fear from the future ahead in the context of our body’s getting rusted over the years. To express her feelings she used three large rusted metal sheets at various degrees of rust constructed a complex array of shadows lit the stains of rust using the light as a brush or scalpel. She studied at Kamera Obscura Art School in Tel-Aviv. She developed her own personal technique using a silvery screen which is both transparent and reflecting. She exhibited in many solo exhibitions among them at Tel Hai Potography Museum at Kowasa Gallery in Barcelona and she’s a member at Noho Gallery in Chelsea NYC. She has also taken part in many group exhibitions throughout the world such as in the Cites Des Arts Paris, The Great 4 Museum in Chongching China and in NYC. Her work is in public collection Te Hai Potography Museum and in a private collection at Vision Gallery Jerusalem and Neil Folberg’s Gallery.

Elana Schwartz is a wood sculptor from New Mexico. She has been drawn to the use of statuary as a conduit between the physical and metaphysical; concrete objects transcend the inherent limitations of the physical and provide a channel through which hidden meaning is unlocked. Wood is the perfect medium to explore concepts of the cyclical nature of life, containing within each piece a living history and future all its own. The recreation of wood into sculpture captures the transformative spirit of our own life cycles, and has the capacity to make any space sacred.

WHY ARTISTS SHOULD BE PAID FOR THEIR ARTWORK?
“Artists shouldn’t be paid for their art. Getting paid prevents them from creating really good stuff.” - I read somewhere online. I want to make three points about Art, Contribution and Money with this article: Your art is a contribution to society. It brings joy, it solves problems, and it makes this world a better place. Being paid allows you to make that contribution to society. Your contribution expands in relation to the amount of time you put into it. More hours means expanded contribution to this world with your God-given talent. “Artists are better off working a job they hate and then painting in their spare time.” This is the problem I have with that: No one should work a job they hate. You were put on this earth with talents and you are meant to do that which you are good at and what you love! The world is missing out on your contribution. The less an artist creates, the less they grow. It requires hours upon hours to hone your craft. Charging for your artwork enables you to make a contribution to the world with your art. It allows you to develop your style and to get better and better at what you do. As long as we are stuck in a money based system, I find it an outright insult to all hardworking artists to say they shouldn’t be paid for what they do. It’s just a crazy notion that this one, single profession should work for free! (While everyone else gets paid.)

Leo creates ceramic faces, figures, sculptures and jewellery that sometimes include coloured wires, textiles, beads and paint. When she has a black biro in her hand she produces surreal black & white illustrations and also paints in oils & acrylics. She started working spontaneously with the black biro drawings, which took her on subconscious journeys to a world far more interesting than the physical normality.

WHAT MAKES AN ARTWORK GREAT?
After contemplating what it is about certain artworks and artists that remain relevant over time, There are three main considerations: Motivation: The purpose for creating; connection to the subject; the intentional concept, message, or emotion that the artist is passionate about capturing. Execution: Technical proficiency; ability and confidence in the various principles of art so that the concept, message, or emotion comes through skillfully and convincingly. Expression: A unique style; the heart and soul of the artist; where we see his/her hand and feel what he or she was feeling; that “it� factor of the work that takes you to the time and place of the artist who created it and lets you become lost in the moment conveyed. In short, great art comes from great artists. Because, more than anything, the end product is a direct reflection of the mind, heart, soul, and life experience of the one creating it. When artists think and feel deeply, respect the responsibility that goes with their calling, and have a genuine connection to and interest in their subject matter, they are on their way to greatness.
