Treat your body like a temple

Treat Your Body Like A Temple “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.” 1 Corinthians 6:19 ESV Our Heavenly Father created us in his image, we are beautifully and wonderfully made. Yet most of the time we don’t treat our selves that way. We put foods with dyes and unhealthy processed foods into our bodies almost everyday. With too much of these foods going into our bodies it can lead to obesity, heart disease, and diabetes. This is just only naming a few. God instructs us in 1 Corinthians 6:19 to treat our bodies as temples, they are gifts from the Lord that we need to treat right and care for. By putting all those dyes and processed foods into our system we are doing the complete opposite of that! One amazing woman named Bethany Hamilton is a pro surfer, wife, mom, and christian! She lives her life for the Lord and promotes healthy eating habits! She suggests a ton of great recipes! here are a few! Chai Breakfast Smoothie Recipe: serves 2 1 frozen banana 1 cup soaked whole oats 1/2 cup brewed black tea cooled 1/2 cup almond milk, or any milk you prefer 1/4 cup full cream coconut milk 1 tablespoon almond butter or raw cashew butter 1 medjool date, pitted 1 tablespoon Maca powder (optional) One scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder Two handfuls of ice SPICES 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon (or better yet 1 tbs) fresh ginger, skin and all

1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom 1/2 teaspoon ground clove 1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder or extract 1 pinch of black pepper and ground star anise 1 pinch sea salt Homemade Organic Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn Ingredients: – organic popcorn kernels – coconut oil – one bar of dark chocolate (or dark chocolate chips)* – peppermint extract (or peppermint essential oil)* – sea salt Pop organic kernels using coconut oil. Meanwhile, use a double boiler to melt dark chocolate* (I just place a heat safe glass bowl over a metal sauce pan with an inch or two of water in it. Don’t let the water boil, just keep it warm), slowly stir in 1 tbs coconut oil, a dash of peppermint extract (or one drop essential oil) and a pinch of sea salt. While warm, pour popped corn into a large mixing bowl. Spoon dark chocolate peppermint mixture over the top. Sprinkle sea salt to taste. Mix and serve. *Alternatively, you could use a peppermint dark chocolate bar, crush it and mix it with the warm popped popcorn, then sprinkle with sea salt. Most of the peppermint chocolate chunks will melt onto the warm popcorn… mmm! Enjoy! Remember to use ORGANIC ingredients – especially when it comes to any type of corn product.

Zucchini Pesto Pasta Ingredients: – 5 Zucchini, spiraled – 1 cup (or to your preference) Green Baisil Pesto – 1/4 cup Sun Dried Tomato, chopped / sliced Use a Spiral Vegetable Slicer (I use Paderno World Cuisine’s model, which I got for Christmas!) to make the zucchini into pasta. Mix with the pesto and sun dried tomatoes, then garnish with a few basil leaves. If you don’t have a vegetable spiral-er, I encourage you to just try this type of dish at a restaurant near you. It’s delicious, and a healthy choice over traditional pasta! Taken from http://bethanyhamilton.com/health-tips/ I LOVE this last recipe she recommends! Zucchini noodles are super yummy! They taste just like regular pasta! If you don’t have a Veggie Slicer you can just use a cheese cutter.:) Comment down below if you tried any of these recipes or if you want me to post more! Do you maybe have a few healthy recipes you like to make? Tell me! I’d love to hear from you!
