For its third involvement with the FIFA WORLD CUP, Hublot was more than just the official watch and official timekeeper of the world’s greatest football competition. It was with great pleasure that Hublot shared its passion! By inviting its customers and Friends of the Brand to join it in the stands, Hublot allowed 1,000 guests to join in the thrill of the beautiful game in Russia over the last month. An enriching experience that creates bonds that stand the test of time.
FIFA WORLD CUP KICK-OFF PARTY BACCARAT MOSCOW Hublot kicked-off the competition amongst a number of its Ambassadors and Friends of the Brand at the prestigious Baccarat Restaurant. On this occasion, Ricardo Guadalupe was honoured to welcome the middleweight Boxing Champion Gennady Golovkin, the coach José Mourinho, the 1998 FIFA World Cup Champions Christian Karembeu and Marcel Desailly, the Indian Cricket superstar Rohit Sharma, the king of cigar Carlito Fuente of Arturo Fuente cigars and Ferrari Squadra Corse Driver Martin Fuentes. Hublot asked named Russian contemporary artist Andrey Bartenev to design the brand emblems of the Hublot Loves Football campaign, including the matryoshka and the football dedicated to the tournament. For a unique culinary experience, Yannick Alléno, the French 3 Michelin starred Chef, marvelled the taste buds of guests with his innovative cuisine.

COMPETITION TIME! 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP RUSSIA™ For the first time, all the referees of the Competition and many coaches who are also our Friends of the Brand were wearing the Big Bang Referee 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ with its smart technology imagined by Hublot. As well as all the functions available on the 2018 numbered models of the Big Bang Referee 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, the referees’ watches were connected to goal-line technology, an electronic video assistance system for refereeing which follows all the trajectories of the ball and determines for certain if the ball did or did not entirely cross the goal line.

The Hublot Manufacture achieves a perfect blend of modernity and the art of traditional watchmaking. Though it produces traditional mechanical movements using principles dating back over 300 years, Hublot uses the latest technologies, materials and processes to create unique timepieces. In 2015, in order to keep pace with increasing demand and maintain the vertical growth of its production, Hublot inaugurated its second buildingâ&#x20AC;&#x201D;just 6 years after opening its plant in 2009. This doubled the surface area of the production centre in Nyon, to reach 14â&#x20AC;&#x2122;000 sqm.
BIG BANG UNICO 42MM The Big Bang Unico watch with a Unico manufacture movement - an undeniable success - has now been redesigned on a smaller scale to fit a 42mm. case, making this watch the perfect choice for gentlemen to downsize and for ladiesâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; wrists. Just like its big brother, it keeps its double clutch mechanism and its column wheel can still be seen from the dial side. But, thanks to the removal of the platform escapement and the introduction of a new, flatter, self-winding system, it is 1.3 mm thinner.

BIG BANG UNICO SAPPHIRE GALAXY The Big Bang Unico Sapphire Galaxy evokes the Milky Way with its constellation of stars and the invisible material that makes up the universe, its design has been inspired by the billions of stars found in the solar system. Symbolising the different nuances of stars; young blue stars emitting hot radiation and older red stars that emit cold radiation, the bezel of the timepiece has been set with 48 baguette cut precious stones. Since 2016, Hublot has been pushing the boundaries in watchmaking by using sapphire crystal, which is a very demanding material to work with. The colours of the galaxy can now be worn on the wrist!

BIG BANG SAPPHIRE TOURBILLON Hublot is already a pioneer when it comes to colouring and shaping of its sapphires cases. This year the brand is taking the mastery of sapphire crystal, an ultra-resistant material which is difficult to machine, to the next level. The Hublot in-house skeleton tourbillon movement with 5 days of power reserve is laid bare, held by a strip cut in sapphire. The new Big Bang Sapphire Tourbillon is completely transparent, including the case, dial, strap and tourbillon movement. The crystalline connections disappear to reveal the skeleton mechanics of the tourbillon, for which the cage is held in place by a strip cut from sapphire.

BIG BANG UNICO RED MAGIC By creating a new material – the first vibrantly red coloured ceramic – Hublot has once again used its limitless imagination to achieve a world’s first. Exclusively designed and produced in-house, in the Hublot Research & Development (R&D) department, this invention has been patented. A triple tour de force, the coloured ceramic invented by Hublot is innovative both in terms of the material itself, and the manufacturing process. In addition to the vibrant colour it is also harder than conventional ceramics. For this first coloured ceramic, Hublot has chosen a vivid red, which symbolises power, passion and glory. A union resulting in the launch of an exclusive watch: the Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Boca Juniors. This exclusive version of the Classic Fusion chronograph sports the colours of the Boca Juniors: blue and yellow! The logo is visible on the dial and the crystal case back that opens onto the automatic movement. The strap, which is also blue, is finished with yellow double stitching. A little detail takes on great significance: when the date aperture displays the twelfth day of the month, the number is not white on a black base like the other 30; it is yellow. This is a nod to the club’s “12th player”: its fans! A very strong symbol.

PATRICK REED GOLF Hublot Ambassador Patrick Reed, highlighted his prodigious talent and battling spirit with a maiden Major victory at The Masters Tournament, sealing his place in the annals of golfing history alongside the greatest players ever to have played the game. Leading the field by three shots, following magnificent sub-70 rounds of 69, 66 and 67, the 28-year-old American showed nerves of steel under immense pressure during the final round to close with one-under-par 71, earning his first Green Jacket in a scintillating fashion.

In June at the Ullna Golf Club, Hublot and its Swedish retailer Rob Engstrom joined forces for a great moment of sport. In presence of Alex Noren; Hublot Friend of the Brand and nine-time European Tour Winner, Hublot hosted a special golf tournament. Ullna Golf Club welcomed 36 players who could compare their swing with that of the Swedish Golf Champion. The perfect occasion for the player to showcase his Big Bang Unico Golf . This chronograph features a putter-shaped pusher at 2 oâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;clock activates the mechanism for displaying the number of strokes taken and counts the strokes per hole. The pusher at 4 oâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;clock allows the wearer to move on to the next hole by resetting the stroke counter to zero.

This is where at the beginning of November, Ferrari held the Finali Mondiali, a huge event celebrating the end of the motor racing season with which Hublot is partnered. Road, racing and even top category Formula 1 Ferraris were able to commune with the crowds of tifosi. It was also the opportunity to close the Ferrari Challenge championship, with its three European, Asian and American series exceptionally coming together in one place.

SHEPARD FAIREY STREET ART In May, Shepard Fairey, the American contemporary street artist, graphic designer, activist, and illustrator whose work inspired OBEY Clothing, was announced as an official Brand Ambassador. On this occasion, Hublot unveiled an exclusive new timepiece titled the Big Bang Meca-10 Shepard Fairey. The Shepard Fairey collaboration and the Big Bang Shepard Fairey watch is the latest and most prominent addition to the “Hublot Loves Art” series.

NICKY JAM REGGAETON MUSIC In November, Reggaeton artist Nicky Jam became a Hublot Ambassador. He is actually the first Ambassador of the Brand representing the Latin American music industry. In July, Nicky Jam had the honour to be picked to perfom the official song «Live It Up» alongside American actor and rapper Will Smith and Kosovar singer Era Istrefi at the closing ceremony of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow, Russia.

SUMMER WITH HUBLOT Summer was quite busy for Hublot! From the shores of Lake Geneva to the rocks of the CĂ´te dâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;Azur or from the Emerald Coast to the creeks of Capri, Hublot Timepieces were everywhere to be seen. The Spirit of Big Bang Blue was here to set the summer tone with its blue microblasted and polished ceramic combined with a blue alligator strap stitched onto white rubber. CHARITY: WATER / DEPECHE MODE Joining forces for the third time, Hublot and legendary band Depeche Mode have managed to raise the sum of $1.7 million for charity: water, an organisation that brings drinking water to developing countries. Funds will bring clean water to more than 50’000 people. The money was raised over two years from the proceeds of two different models: first, the Big Bang Depeche Mode released as a limited edition of 250 pieces in 2017, then the collection of unique Big Bang Unico Depeche Mode “The Singles” Limited Edition watches in 2018.

SOCCER AID MATCH Back in February, sprinting legend Usain Bolt surprised the more than 5 million fans following him on social media by announcing his transition to the world of football, fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a footballer. After his first appearance on the pitch during the Match of Friendship in Basel, he captained the World XI team during the Soccer Aid World XI match, taking on the England team, led by superstar Robbie Williams. The match was organized under the Unicef banner to raise money helping children at risk accross the world.

The now traditional Fondation Star Team MC match saw the players captained by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, the A.S Star Team for the Children, took on the Nazionale Piloti, a team made up of Formula 1 drivers.
