Welcome the newest addition to the H+W family, Spark, a 72% kid mohair / 28% silk lace weight, hand dyed in Colorado by our fearless co-founder Sloane Rosenthal, in complementary, tonal hues to mix or match with our Weld or Forge. We’ve gleefully jumped into the mohair carry along trend, exploring feminine and fuzzy designs for a well-timed spring capsule collection.

In this capsule collection you’ll find four soft, cozy, everyday wearable designs for this spring and every season to follow, including a chic and lofty cabled sweater, a fluffy brioche cardigan, a timeless cabled shawl, and the essential brioche beanie all using Spark x Weld held together for stunning results.

We’re thrilled with this charming addition to our yarn family and hope you’re just as excited as we are to mix Spark with our core, steadfast yarns.

Swift by Sloane Rosenthal is made for year round comfort and near constant wear. This fuzzy and feminine cabled pullover is covered in simple but captivating cables that bloom in Weld x Spark held together. This classic modified drop shoulder pullover is worked from the bottom up in pieces and seamed after blocking the front and back; the sleeves are picked up after the shoulders are joined and worked from the top down for easy finishing. Finally, the neckband is picked up and worked in the round, folded over and seamed for a stable and cozy collar.

Alcott, by Sloane Rosenthal, is a friendly top down triangular shawl, featuring Sloane’s signature cables that flow seamlessly into a 2x2 ribbed border. Made at a lofty gauge, our tonal Spark gently shifts over the Weld base, creating just enough visual interest in the fabric without taking away from the pattern. This beautiful shawl is just the right size to wear as a spring scarf with a denim jacket or over bare shoulders.

We love a fluffy, soft cardigan and there is nothing softer or fluffier than a brioche stitch cardigan in Spark x Weld. Beckett, by Meghan Babin, mixes two gently contrasting colors of Spark and Weld creating a subtle marl that’s deeply pleasing when paired with the puffy brioche stitch. This slightly cropped cardigan features gentle ballooning at the cuffs, a cozy raglan depth, and a folded button band worked after seaming with reinforced buttonholes. As this cardigan is worked at a drapey gauge, it’s worked from the bottom up in pieces and seamed after wet blocking for essential fabric stability and longevity.
