Some of our families have been visiting us for over twenty years, now that is a recommendation! Small motor boats can be hired to explore the quiet creeks and waterside villages of this fascinating river or you can just relax on the wonderful sandy beach at Helford Passage. The Cornish Coastal Footpath can be joined just off the beach and offers gentle walks and breathtaking views. The Passenger Ferry dating from the 15th century runs from early Spring until the Autumn. You can catch the Ferry to the other side of the river and visit the charming village of Helford with the Shipwrights Inn or visit more secluded coves and beaches and Frenchman’s Creek. The beach is open to the public but privately owned and managed and dogs or radios are not allowed on the beach.
The Ferryboat inn run by the Wright brothers who have a restaurant in Borough Market and run the nearby Duchy Oyster Farm. and offers a selection of food and ale. All the properties around the village were converted from the old Ferryboat Inn throughout the sixties and early seventies. Some apartments have magnificent river and beach views and none are more than a few paces from the beach and most have their own balcony or terrace overlooking the beach. The Ferryboat Inn... right by the beach and a splendid place to sit and enjoy a drink. The Inn offers a selection of food and occasional live entertainment.
The swimming pool is for the use of guests staying at Helford Passage only. The pool is open normally from May until the end of September.

Helford Surrounding Areas Helford River is truly unique with wonderful holiday surroundings of incomparable beauty, where the ferry operates between Helford Passage on the north side of the river to Helford Village on the south bank.
Helford River Boats operate the foot ferry service, and boats can also be hired if you want to have a quiet motor around the river, or even try your hand at fishing. If you are a keen sailor, you might want to bring your own sailing boat and moor up on the river in this idyllic setting. The city of Truro is approximately 12 miles from our area and provides more extensive shopping facilities as well as the Hall for Cornwall, a top quality theatre and musical events venue.
Being on the coastal footpath, there are many walks to be enjoyed in and around the Helford. Some circular walks will bring you to the gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan both with beaches. The Lizard, the most Southerly point in Great Britain, is not far away, where the most Southerly cafĂŠ produces a wonderful cream tea - not to be missed!
Porthallow & Nare Point Nare Point is dominated by the disused Observation Post for the anti-submarine torpedo range which operated here until 1994.
Porthallow, once a busy village engaged in the pilchard industry, is still used by some fishermen with many visitors coming to share a glorious view of Falmouth Bay. Porthallow consists of a pub and an active Amenities Association, tea shop, cafe and gift shops. A diving centre/ school is close by. Those visitors interested in the marine history of the area must visit the pub which houses a large collection of shipwreck relics and old photographs. Some of the best cliff walks can be taken from Porthallow where on a clear day magnificent panoramic views of Falmouth Bay and the Cornish coastline can be enjoyed.
Helford Surrounding Areas Pengarrock Pengarrock is less than a mile from the pretty fishing cove of Porthallow where boating, fishing and swimming can be enjoyed followed perhaps by a drink at the local pub. Set in a lovely countryside area of winding lanes amidst small picturesque villages, with beautiful coastal scenery close by St Keverne village is about 1.5 miles away, has a Church, Post Office, good small shops, restaurant and pubs. The creeks of the Helford River are only a short drive to the North (about 3 miles). Country pursuits and water sports including sailing and windsurfing can be enjoyed in the near vicinity. The lovely village of Coverack is 4 miles. Pengarrock is a real ‘get-away’ location with almost zero traffic along the lane - as tranquil as it is possible to be nowadays. Definitely for nature lovers. Wood burning stoves make for a cosy destination outside the summer months.

Maenporth is a couple of miles from Falmouth which has a reputation for sailing, great restaurants, shops and the National Maritime Museum; it is within walking distance of the Helford River and well positioned to reach many of Cornwall’s natural sites, gardens and a wide variety of excellent attractions. The wonderful sandy beach is just below the properties, and has a beach shop selling the usual goodies and providing food. Boats are available for hire and moorings available at Helford Passage.
Facilities The Leisure Centre incorporates a good sized heated swimming pool in super surroundings. Scandinavian style timber beams span the pool and French windows lead you out onto a sun terrace.
There is a sauna and jacuzzi for those guests wanting to relax, a pool table and table tennis for the more energetic. Booking Conditions BOOKING FORMS: A booking form, signed by the person making the booking, must be returned to us with every booking, unless booked online. BOOKINGS: Are made from 3.00pm on the day of arrival (unless otherwise stated on your key instructions), until 10.00am on the day of departure. PAYMENT: 20% with signed booking form, and the balance six weeks before commencement of holiday unless the booking is made within six weeks when the full amount is due. If payment is not received by the due date we have the right to cancel the holiday and re-let it if possible. The payment of any monies to us constitutes a legally binding contract and an acceptance of the Booking Conditions. BOOKING FEE: This is now a compulsory part of the holiday contract. The booking fee is £20 and is non refundable. CHANGING A BOOKING: Once a booking has been accepted by the Company, the booking can only be changed to another property by treating the original booking as a cancellation. CANCELLATIONS: When you book a holiday you are entering a legally binding contract. If you have to cancel your holiday you still remain liable to us as Holiday Letting Agents for the final payment on the due date. We strongly recommend that you take out Insurance against cancellation of your holiday, and we have arranged a special insurance scheme with P H Hayman & Co Ltd., Stansted House, Rowlands Castle, Hants, PO9 6DX. Telephone 0845 230 0631. Full details will be sent to you on receipt of your deposit. Cancellations must be made in writing to us, but the Applicant still remains liable for payment of the full amount of the letting fee. Failure to make such payment will be treated as a Breach of Contract. This does not affect your statutory rights. Holiday Cornwall Ltd., will always endeavour to re-let the property after cancellation, and if successful, will refund the balance, less £30 + VAT per week administration costs and less any shortfall figure if the holiday was re-let at a reduced rate. You are, of course, at liberty to arrange cancellation insurance through your own source, if you wish. SPECIAL NEEDS & DISABILITIES: We always try to ensure that our customers enjoy their accommodation. Should any member of your party have special needs or a disability of any sort please do not hesitate to discuss their requirements with our staff. They will be happy to advise on the properties best suited for your needs. However, not all properties are able to accept assistance animals (due to allergies). YOUR RESPONSIBILITY: Holiday tenants are responsible for normal everyday cleaning and for keeping the property in an orderly fashion. They are requested to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition on vacation of the property. Liability for damage done to the property or equipment or for excessive extra cleaning necessary on vacation is the responsibility of the person who signs the booking form, or accepts the Conditions online. Charges for these liabilities will be forwarded to them. This includes loss of keys, breakages, etc. DAMAGE & SECURITY DEPOSITS: Although the property is checked by housekeeping staff if any damage is found which has not been reported to the office, a charge will be made for repair or replacement of same, either by invoice or security deposit. PARTY BOOKINGS: We are essentially a family holiday booking agency and we actively discourage parties of young people and groups of people. We reserve the right to terminate any bookings, without refund, which are found to be of young people not supervised by parents/adults, even though the booking may have been made by a parent/adult. We also reserve the right to charge for extra cleaning, breakages and damage done to the properties. TOTAL NUMBER OF PEOPLE: In line with English Tourist Board regulations, the total number of people in your party should not exceed the advertised number and we reserve the right to immediately terminate a booking if more than the stated number of people are found to be staying, without refund. NUISANCE TO OTHERS: We reserve the right to immediately terminate the bookings of parties causing excessive noise or nuisance to others, without refund. LOST PROPERTY: If any belongings are left behind and a request is made to send them on then we will advise the cost of returning the items and upon receipt of same, the lost property will then be returned. PETS: Regrettably, pets are no longer allowed at most of our properties in particular at Maenporth and Helford Passage Cove.
MAINTENANCE: We or our representatives reserve the right to enter the property to maintain either the property itself or any equipment therein, at any reasonable time but without notice, whether or not the property is occupied. LINEN: Linen is supplied within the cost of your let, on a weekly basis, on the understanding that any damage done to it will be paid for by you. Stays of two weeks or more - changeover linen will be supplied, but no cleans during stay. Beds will be made up on your arrival but not during tenancies. No bedding supplied for cots. TOWELS: Towels are NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED. However, Holiday Cornwall Ltd., offer a hire service. A towel bale costs £10 and consists of two hand towels, and two bath sheets. For towel hire please contact the Helford Office on 01326 250278. WASHING: You are requested not to dry any washing outside the accommodation on the Maenporth Estate. COTS AND HIGHCHAIRS: These can usually be hired from us, on the understanding that any damage done to them will be paid for by you. Bedding is not provided for cots but can be hired. If cots are required as extras in any property, this will limit the space therein. These items will be left in the best space possible. HOLIDAY CORNWALL LTD., the booking agents, have made every effort to represent the properties, tariff and details within the brochure/website in a true and proper way. As far as we are aware, all the details were correct at the time of going to press, and we will not be held responsible for alterations made to the complex, the properties or equipment. We strongly recommend that if you are in doubt about something, that you seek a written reply from us. In the exceptional circumstance of any booked property becoming unavailable for letting, we will endeavour to relocate the Holidaymaker into a property of at least similar standard if at all possible. USE OF AMENITIES: The use of all amenities, where offered, such as swimming pools, cots etc., is entirely at the user’s risk, and Holiday Cornwall Ltd./Property Owners will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to the customer’s belongings, personal injury or loss of life. Any breakdown of amenities or equipment in properties cannot be held to be the responsibility of Holiday Cornwall Ltd., and although every effort will be made to rectify any faults, a guarantee cannot be given that repairs will be effected during the duration of a holiday. Leisure facilities are not interchangeable. Only guests staying at Maenporth may use the Maenporth Leisure facilities. Only guests staying at Helford Passage may use the outdoor heated pool from May to September at Helford Passage. These facilities may only be used by persons actually residing in our properties and not by visiting guests or friends. Although the Leisure Complex at Maenporth is open all year round, the opening/ closing hours vary according to the season. Opening times of the Maenporth Leisure facilities may be subject to change at the Maenporth Management’s discretion without prior warning. With regard to the Leisure facilities, individual advice cannot be given on how much exercise one should take. All users must bear in mind their personal limitations. Children under 15 years of age using the swimming pool at Helford Passage or the Leisure facilities at Maenporth must be accompanied by an adult. LIABILITY: The Agents will not be liable for any act, neglect or default on the part of the Owner or any other person, nor for any accident, damage, loss, injury, expense or inconvenience whether to person or property which the customer or any member of his or her party may suffer arising out of or in connection with the holiday or resulting from any other cause whatsoever. COMPLAINTS: All complaints must be notified to the agents immediately so that an on the spot investigation can be made if necessary and remedial action taken if required. In no circumstances will any complaint be accepted if it is brought to the agents attention after the holiday letting has ended. Please, therefore, inform us immediately so that we can endeavour to rectify the matter at the earliest possible opportunity. Complaints regarding cleanliness will not be considered if they are raised more than twenty four hours after arrival. APPLIANCES: In the unlikely event of an appliance breaking down, please report this immediately to the agent, where we will undertake to have the matter rectified as soon as possible. Should we not be able to resolve the issue immediately (e.g. a part may need to be ordered), the Tenants shall have no claim against the Owner or Agent.
