about me My name is Ludwig Riml. I am a passionate travel and landscape photographer. I was born in a small village in the Austrian Alps but have been living in Sweden for many years now. My first camera was a Russian Zenit. I was 16 when I swapped it for a pair of skis at a slalom competition in Poland. Since then I have been photographing more or less during my whole life. I also had a darkroom where I would spend many nights when the kids were in bed and my wife asleep. When Canon released the first digital EOS DSLR camera, the EOS D30 in 2000 I was blown away by the ease you could take pictures with it. It was totally revolutionary and I jumped right on the new technology. Quite some years later it was Sony with its mirrorless cameras that really impressed me. I made the switch and right now I am in love with my Sony A7R4. I have always liked to work with zooms and I own a 12-24mm, a 24-70mm, a 24-105mm, a 70-200mm and my latest 100-400mm lens. I really try to get my pics right in camera so I use filters quite a lot. I am a very slow photographer and most of the time I use a tripod. I always shoot in Raw and do my post processing work in Lightroom, Photoshop and third party filters like Nik software, Topaz and sometimes Luminar. I use Tony Kuipers TK panel for precise masking to make local adjustments in my work. Some of my favorite locations for landscape photography are the Alps, Lofoten Islands in Norway, The Swedish Islands Gotland and Öland, Dalecarlia and the West Coast of Sweden. I dream of going to Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Scotland in the near future.

At the Creek. My home lies at the border of the Derbol Nature Reserve. I walk there every day with my dog and follow the seasons of the year. This is taken in Spring when the forest floor is white with Anemone Nemorosa. Sony A7R2 FE 24-70mm GM at 28 mm. 7

The Crack. Classic view of Reine, Lofoten Islands, Norway. This reminded me of the song by Leonard Cohen. There is a crack, a crack in everything. 8
