Good afternoon everyone.

Welcome back to the Continental Pilot Field after a few disappointing defeats on the road, today we are back home looking to get back to winning ways. Good luck to the management team, all the players and a big thank you as always to all the fans for your continued support both home and away. I would also like to say another big thank you to all our volunteers here at the Club, without you all we wouldn't be where we are and be able to deliver all the day-to-day functions of this great Club.

Happy Birthday to Joseph Knight for last Wednesday

From all of your football family at Hastings United Football Club ...

Tom’s association with the U’s goes back to October 1979, when he started as a part-time groundsman under the newly appointed manager, Peter Sillett, with the remit of mowing, rolling and marking out the pitch.

His tasks were made more onerous due to poor drainage under the Pilot Field, turning the playing surface into a mudbath by Christmas. Other daily tasks followed, including harrowing the speedway track, picking up litter, sweeping the stands and terraces, cleaning the dressing rooms and many other menial tasks, not to mention acting as Physio on a number of occasions.

This role continued on and off until the late 1990’s when he took on the mantle of matchday PA Announcer until his retirement in 2012. Even to this day, he still looks for the U’s result first every Saturday, and although he’s now mov ed to Eastbourne, he can still be seen at home matches carrying on his support.
