‘GREENHOUSE EXHIBITION’ Tessa Newcomb, Robina Jack, Cornelia O’Donovan, Mary Petherick Our ‘Greenhouse’ exhibition brings you a mixture of mature and young artists who have been growing slowly but steadily throughout the winter months. Tessa Newcomb and Robina Jack have long, successful careers as artists. Robina Jack’s painted plates and bowls focus on the menagerie that surrounds her: dogs, cats, hens and family history. Tessa Newcomb’s paintings record the garden, the greenhouse, the allotment; she draws you into her work, it feels intimate, you could be a local peering over the fence. The younger artists are Cornelia O’Donovan and Mary Petherick. Cornelia O’Donovan graduated from the Royal College of Art and has had several solo exhibitions. Her work, often based on folklore, includes plants, leaves and flowers. Mary Petherick is a Shropshire based young artist. Mary’s family has a passion for gardening which has inspired her to make her own indoor gardens with vases of flowers from which she creates wonderful drawings. In this, her first exhibition, she studies the iris and has produced a series of dramatic paintings.
