9 -10 AUGUST 2016 THE MIRA, HONG KONG
ZURICH INSURANCE. FOR THOSE WHO TRULY LOVE THEIR BUSINESS. 2 | EMPLOYEE BENEFITS ASIA 2016
EDITOR’S NOTE REWARDING YOUR EMPLOYEES What perks employees want the most is a question C&B professionals ask themselves constantly. While several companies have made the news this year with creative offers such as free Teslas and free college tuition for children of employees, finding out what staff really want remains a challenge for the HR sector. Although companies are offering a wide range of benefits, medical benefits remains a key in retaining and attracting talent. With the advancement in technology, more employers are offering mobile devices to employees to encourage them to exercise more by tracking the number of steps they take every day.
During the two-day conference, you can look forward to several sessions in the form of keynote presentations, exclusive interview and real-life case studies, accompanied by panel discussions on the best practices in developing the best compensation and benefits strategies. Like all conferences produced by the Human Resources team, we expect HR professionals to be proactive in sharing tips and tricks about what works and what doesn’t and discussing today’s most compelling issues regarding C&B. We hope you enjoy the event and we look forward to hearing your feedback.
However, the most important function of these devices is to help track the health data of employees and help the organisation develop better employee healthcare programmes. Research has shown that despite a heightened awareness of health and wellness, up to 68% of HongKongers worked while they were sick last year, resulting in HK$30.6 billion of lost productivity. Moreover, staff underuse of preventative services continues to be a major cause for driving up medical costs. This means establishing a workplace culture of health by encouraging prevention and the promotion of healthy lifestyles remains a challenge for C&B professionals, which is why Employee Benefits Asia is back for the second consecutive year, gathering the smartest minds to tackle challenges in C&B.
