EDITOR’S NOTE DRIVING PROFITABILITY WITH A SMART REWARDS STRATEGY On the account of an increasingly competitive global economy, calls for changes in rewards strategies have been led by both employees and employers. Many organisations are seeking to restructure their compensation and benefits programmes, but they don’t know where to start, especially with the different trends and options available today.
We hope you will not hesitate to ask the critical questions, and enable the exchange of ideas among a setting of your peers.
In Human Resources magazine’s recent annual special edition, called The Futurist, 32 HR leaders across Asia offered their predictions on the future of HR.
Please keep sharing your feedback with us during these two days, or leave us a comment on Twitter using #EBA2016, where we will be posting live updates throughout. Enjoy the conference.
With a changing workforce across the region, it is now more important than ever to plan rewards strategies that stimulate effective long-term capabilities.
A handful of these HR practitioners foresaw specialist functions such as compensation and benefits being impacted and reduced to focus purely on advisory and non-transactional matters – with much of such work moving towards an employee self-service approach. Moreover, the broader paintbrush of rewards seemed to take centre stage, with many anticipating the future of the HR model to be focused on centres of expertise/excellence (COE), business HR and shared services. The COE, in particular, is expected to manage strategy around total rewards, talent acquisition, and the like – not only driving the process, but developing the tools line managers need to manage their human capital. Make of it what you will, but the rewards space is indeed an exciting area, open to a lot of creativity and innovation, especially with the changing business climate. To facilitate that conversation, we’re proud to bring back Employee Benefits Asia 2016. Now in its fifth year in Singapore, and second year in both Malaysia and Hong Kong, our team is dedicated to pool together the most relevant and contemporary views up for discussion. Over these two days, you can expect to ideate on aspects of best practice rewards strategies driven by an agenda that features case studies, keynote presentations and networking opportunities.
