EDITOR’S NOTE
Getting in shape When looking at factors which have a track record of being strong attraction and retention tools, rarely does “healthcare benefits” make the list. According to a recent Michael Page study, the top three things job seekers are looking for in their next role are an increase in salary, career progression and more seniority or a promotion. When it comes to what will retain top talent, the top three factors were financial rewards based on performance, additional career development or support, and a motivating manager.
Set apart by its interactive format, roundtable discussions will take place throughout the day in between lively on-stage panel sessions, ensuring you get the most out of the event by engaging in valuable two-way discussions. Please voice your perspectives on employee healthcare in the five interactive sessions the day holds, as well as make the most of the daylong networking opportunity. We also have live feeds on social media, where you can leave a comment or two at #EHI2015. We look forward to welcoming you to the conference. Have a great day of learning.
But the absence of employee healthcare from the top five most powerful attraction and retention motivators hasn’t stopped the most progressive companies from realising the true value of taking care of the organisation’s most important asset – its people. By providing healthcare offerings to staff, these companies are putting themselves in an enviable position where they can provide benefits that are seen by employees as a “must have” rather than a “nice to have”. These are benefits which strengthen the employer proposition given employees feel reassured they are looked after and encouraged to focus on their recovery rather than worry about their medical concerns and expenses. To avoid healthcare costs spiralling out of control and to maintain policy consistency, these smart companies not only treat their employees well, but also put them on the road to a speedy recovery and raise the overall corporate wellness of the organisation – and today is the forum to share stories of their experiences. This inaugural conference by Human Resources has been tailored for senior HR decision-makers such as yourselves to strengthen the benefits and investment decisions for employee healthcare and wellness within your organisation.
