WELCOME TO THE HR EXCELLENCE AWARDS! The HR function has evolved significantly over the past year, and each new development has brought forth an equal challenge. Many organisations have designed innovative solutions to tackle their challenges head on. Tonight, we recognise the ones who have done this the best. In what is definitively the biggest HR celebration of the year, we are looking forward to revealing all of the big winners who have proven their calibre in demonstrating excellence in HR practices. The HR Excellence Awards is the only regional awards programme in Asia designed to celebrate excellence in outstanding human capital strategy and execution. What also makes it so unique is that all entries are judged solely by some of the most respected HR directors in Asia. We received a number of entries, rating highly in both quantity and quality. But just the fact of participation proves how much organisations in the region value excellence in HR. We can’t wait to see who goes home with the winning titles – it’s going to be a great night. Thank you for supporting us with your commitment towards better HR practices in the region. Best of luck to you all!

NTT DATA Business Solutions is the world’s sixth largest IT company. In Malaysia, our dedicated focus is on SuccessFactors, recognised as one of the leading cloud HCM solution suites. Backed by the NTT DATA Group’s regional and global reach, our team has made it our goal to help businesses in Malaysia optimise and enable their talent. This year, together with SAP, NTT DATA is proudly co-sponsoring the new category on Excellence in Innovative Use of HR Technology. All nominees are worthy contenders and best-inclass in their own right. More and more, the evolving complexity of the modern workforce portends an increase in the need for more innovative human capital management solutions. The HR management industry has been estimated at US$3.4 billion and seen to grow at over 17% annually. Every year, the pursuit to narrow the innovation gap and redesign HR systems to more fully support work-life balance, collaboration and professional growth for the global, tech-savvy and mobile-driven labour pool, has motivated us to seek the best from our field. The SuccessFactors Business Execution Suite, globally acknowledged as a leader in HCM talent management, supports companies who are innovative in their HCM thinking and approach. As a cloud-based solution, it enables them to implement new best practices at a rapid pace while delivering measurable business results. SuccessFactors supports their ongoing innovation journey by delivering four functionality updates per year to customers. Innovation, therefore, must go beyond the introduction of something new, or the creation of novelty. HR practitioners want to deploy technology to improve not just HCM processes, but also their contribution to the bottom line. This aspiration is one that NTT DATA and SAP are happy to recognise and always keen to support. We congratulate all the finalists of the HR Excellence Awards 2015 and salute the innovators that have set the bar higher for all of us.

Malaysia has made great strides in transforming itself into an upper-middle income nation, backed by consistent and substantial investments in human capital development. However, for us to make that leap into a high-income, advanced nation by the end of this decade, Malaysia requires the right quantity and quality of talent, now and for the future. This is where HR plays a critical role. For an organisation to move forward and be future-ready, an employer must be able to attract, nurture and retain the talent they need to support their business imperative. The HR fraternity plays an integral role in facilitating a work environment where talent can realise their full potential. In an era of scarce resources, employers must go beyond the norm and embrace inclusion in order to be able to tap on the diversity of Malaysia’s talent pool. Especially to ensure a sustainable pipeline of talent, employers must increasingly come together with academia to equip graduates with skill sets required by industry. This is why TalentCorp is proud to support the Human Resources Excellence Awards 2015 for the Excellence in Employee Diversity & Inclusion Strategies and Excellence in Graduate Development. It is encouraging to see outstanding HR practices and leadership being celebrated and recognised through this platform, and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the winners of the HR Excellence Awards 2015. Through this event, I hope to see the HR community recognised for its role in optimising on the diversity of Malaysia’s talent. I also hope that our employers will be inspired to elevate our HR standards to ensure our employers are globally competitive.
