EDITOR’S NOTE Embrace disruption in talent acquisition Earlier this year, the Human Resources team was working on a special edition of the magazine, where HR’s finest minds at work agreed that HR directors and their teams needed to start sensing opportunities early and respond swiftly for the function to make a valuable contribution to business results.

You can also take your comments online by following us on Twitter @mag_HR where we will be posting live commentary from Recruitment Asia 2016 at #RA2016. We hope you enjoy your time with us and we look forward to meeting you over these couple of days.

This call for agility resonated in how these HR directors see their future – “replacing operational aspects of HR by bots”; “immersing learners in ultra-realistic, virtual scenarios”; and “creating a live performance management platform that allows for instant feedback”, among some of the fascinating ideas. But in no other responsibility of the HR team are we seeing more changes than in recruitment. It’s no secret that nearly half of employers in Asia (46%) are facing hiring difficulties. In Singapore, 51% of employers say it’s getting harder to fill jobs, according to a 2016 report. In a market typically characterised by talent shortage and changing legislation, Recruitment Asia seeks to answer your questions and provide feasible solutions for you and your teams to take back home. Held for the fourth consecutive year, this year we re-introduce the conference to you in a new two-day format that ensures all your talent acquisition queries are addressed sufficiently. Over the course of these two days, you can expect on-stage case studies and panel discussions to be supplemented with off-stage networking sessions. The idea is to enable you to optimise your time at the conference, so please feel free to raise questions for your fellow delegates and spark discussions that can carry forward beyond the close of the conference.
