Editor’s note More people than ever are living and working outside their home country. How has this impacted HR’s global mobility programmes? Globally, 85% of companies have a policy or policies in place for international assignments, up from 81% in 2012, according to a global survey by Mercer.
Each table will have a moderator and be allotted adequate time to share their views, ensuring you get the most out of the event by engaging in valuable two-way discussions. As you settle in this morning, we in the Human Resources team look forward to meeting all of you. Do enjoy the conference, and as always, we look forward to your feedback!
The report also noted a marked increase in companies with multiple policies, up from 57% in 2012 to 64% in 2015, a consequence of the diversifying trends in assignments. The proportion of female expatriates has increased, with the worldwide average participation standing at 15%, up from 12% in 2013 and 9% in 2010. Age-wise the majority of long-term assignees (66%) is between 35-55, whereas short-term assignees are increasingly younger, under 35, (48%, up from 45% in 2013). To optimise the use of global mobility programmes, firms need to tailor them per the needs of the various generations in the workplace. While some companies already have solid mobility practices in place, others are starting from scratch and are lacking strategic business input – instead, simply focusing on the practicalities of keeping staff mobile. No matter what end of the spectrum you find your company at, Workforce Mobility Interactive will help you find solutions and generate the kind of conversations you’re looking for. This conference will see tailored discussions for high-level HR and mobility leaders from global MNCs taking on the latest global mobility management trends and best practices. This event is set apart by its interactive format, where you can look forward to round table discussions taking place throughout the day in between lively on-stage panel sessions.
