Coffee Morning The next coffee morning will be in the Parish Hall at the Flower Club Christmas event on Saturday, 3rd November. Fellowship Lunch – Second Monday of the month – 12.00 – 1.30 Next lunch 12th November . The food will comprise of soup and sandwiches and no cost, only a donation. Please sign up at the back of church so the catering team have an idea of numbers, thanks. Men’s Night Please note this group meets in the East Ardsley Conservative Club 7.30 / 7.45 on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be 14th November. All welcome. All Souls Service- Sunday, 28th October at 6 p.m. Mission Action Plan News Again we shall gather to particularly remember those who have died over the past year but you are very welcome to join us to remember your loved ones as well. As usual there will be a bereavement group meeting on the following Thursday mornings from 10.45 until 11.30 in Church This will be a short course called ‘Living with Loss’. This is an opportunity to gather people together for joint support and talk through some of the issues we all face around bereavement. The course starts at 10.45 with refreshments and lasts until 11.30 at the latest. It is based in St. Michael’s church on: Thursday, 1st November – ‘Losing’ Thursday, 8th November – ‘Whatever it takes’ Thursday, 15th November – ‘Doing the right thing’ Thursday, 22nd November – ‘only the Good’. Thursday, 29th November – ‘The last thing we talk about’ and meeting fear with faith. If you would like to know further details then please give the Vicar a ring or just turn up on Thursday 1st November. For your information Barbara Bruce’s funeral will be in Church on Tuesday, 23rd October at 1.30 p.m. Barbara was a well loved member of St. Gabriel’s for a good number of years and in many ways was the last older member of St. Gabriel’s. Sunday 21st October – 5 p.m. in Church sees the start of a new type of monthly service aimed at families with a short service with sandwiches and cake. Interactive worship for all ages. Morley Town Hall Concert There will be a Concert in Morley Town Hall at 7.30 pm. On Saturday, 27th October in aid of the Poppy Appeal. West Yorkshire fire and rescue band will be returning to the Town Hall. Tickets for the concert are available at £5 each, from Judith.elliott@leeds.gov.uk. or purchase on the door. Refreshments will be available on the night. Afternoon Tea The Sunday School will be hosting afternoon tea on Saturday, 17th November, 2 – 4 p.m. in aid of Martin House Children’s Hospice. Tickets at £5 each are now available. Johnny Victory Tickets are now on sale at £7 adults and £3 children (including light refreshments during the interval) for the Johnny Victory Concert celebrating the Centenary Anniversary of the end of the first World War.
