1st Reading - Psalm 103. 2nd Reading - John 15:9-17 Let us pledge ourselves today to live as good neighbours, to honour the past, to care for all who are in need, and to live at peace among ourselves and with all people. Lord God, Father of all, We pledge ourselves To serve you and this neighbourhood, To bring relief to all those who are in need, and comfort to the sad, lonely and distressed; Keep us ever mindful of the struggles and achievements of former generations, and of this place where we make our home, now, and in the days to come. AMEN. Please note at the back of church there is a prayer booklet for you to enter people or situations to be remembered in prayer at the Tuesday morning prayer service. Coffee Morning The next coffee morning will be in the Parish Hall at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday, 1st December. Fellowship Lunch – Second Monday of the month – 12.00 – 1.30 Next lunch 12th November . The food will comprise of soup and sandwiches and no cost, only a donation. Please sign up at the back of church so the catering team have an idea of numbers, thanks. Men’s Night Please note this group meets in the East Ardsley Conservative Club 7.30 / 7.45 on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. The next meeting will be 14th November. All welcome.


Charity for November/December – Codie defribulator Bereavement Group As usual there will be a bereavement group meeting on the following Thursday mornings from 10.45 until 11.30 in Church This will be a short course called ‘Living with Loss’. This is an opportunity to gather people together for joint support and talk through some of the issues we all face around bereavement. The course starts at 10.45 with refreshments and lasts until 11.30 at the latest. It is based in St. Michael’s church on: Thursday, 15th November – ‘Doing the right thing’ Thursday, 22nd November – ‘only the Good’. Thursday, 29th November – ‘The last thing we talk about’ and meeting fear with faith. If you would like to know further details then please give the Vicar a ring or just turn up. Prayer Thought Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil for you are with me. Psalm 23: 4 When walking through the valley of shadows, remember, a shadow is cast by a light. There is a Prayer meeting every Wednesday, in Church, 7.30 – 8.30 p.m. All welcome. Carols at Country Baskets On Saturday 24th November from 11-12.30 we shall be singing carols in the foyer of Country Baskets. Again we shall be raising money for Martin House Children’s Hospice. Please consider joining us for a really good time of fellowship, singing your favourite Carols and an opportunity to chat to folks and raise funds for a wonderful charity. Afternoon Tea The Sunday School will be hosting afternoon tea on Saturday, 17th November, 2 – 4 p.m. in aid of Martin House Children’s Hospice. Tickets at £5 each are now available. From the Sunday School Teachers. Friday Film Night 23rd November Chocolat will be screened at 7pm. Supper at 6.30pm byo or pre order fish and chips on the list at the back of church, or telephone Malcolm R with your order by the 22nd November.
